I noticed there were some clips that featured John Ross meandering through the halls of South Fork in somewhat of a rage taking swigs of what appears to be schnapps or something. Do any of you get the impression that John Ross may have a penchant for the drink like SueEllen, his mother. Do any of you think this?

That would be interesting! His drink of choice would be vodka! Did SE ever drink schnaps? Maybe she tried fruit schnaps while she was in Europe!

It's possible. People have argued that alcoholism/addiction is in the genes, or on the other hand that you may have been influenced by those around you but it is ultimately your choice whether or not you choose to follow in their footsteps. Either way, he didn't have good examples. Sue Ellen was a blatant alcoholic and eventually got sober by the time she left Dallas for London, but JR also drank heavily and continually bashed on her for drinking while never looking in the mirror himself. Parenting at its best!

I know people like to knock Sue Ellen for being an alocholic, but the entire Ewing family were champion drinkers!

I would think the chances of John Ross having an addictive side could be very possible. As someone mentioned earlier, doctors have claimed that this may be due to genes. If you look back, Sue Ellen and her father were both alcoholics. Kristin was addicted to drugs. Since the show will air on TNT, they could push the envelope more than CBS did, making John Ross addicted to Oxy or some other drugs.
I was thinking about how an older John Ross would be today. If I were a writter for the show, I would make him dispise his father. By now John Ross would have learned all the things his daddy did to his mother as well as the fact that he (JR) once thought he was Cristopher's father from his mother's sister! If the new series portrays John Ross and JR's relationship similar to JR's and Jocks, I will find it very unrealistic.
