I never liked her in the preceding 11 seasons either.

The Cally character was not well-written,that's for sure. And some of her storylines were really bad, such as Alex falling in love with her and JR getting involved etc. Kind of like a VERY watered down version of Peter Richards' infatuation with Sue Ellen.

Cally's casting was good, but her introduction was awful.

Dallas was past its prime at that point so they had to experiment with some things. The Cally storyline would have been fine, in my opinion, if they hadn't dragged it out as long as they did.

Nearing the end of the season now and still not seeing what the big riot was all about.

I agree. I personally didn't have as much of a problem with Cally as I did with the introduction of Vanessa and James, which was just ridiculous and seemingly heralded the show's end.

Haleyville was an abomination. I had not problems with J.R. remarrying but a shotgun wedding, inbred hicks, and a cartoon of a plot stretched out for far to many weeks was really the worst sequence in Dallas history.

Something I wrote about Haleyville in another thread.

    Haleyville and Morality

Did anyone else think it was odd that JR gets punished - really punished for the first time during the show's run - not because he's involved in illegal business practices, or because he started a coup in Asia, or employed a mercenary to blow up oil fields in the Middle East, or killed a few people, or raped a woman or two, or blackmailed a few people, or had a few cops in his pocket. No, he does not get punished because he broke the law, local and international. He's punished on that rock pile and in that sweat box because he deflowered an innocent virgin who *shock shudder* consented.

JR finally gets punished because he is "immoral," and his immorality criminalizes him.

And the "simple" folks of Haleyville aren't interested in JR's money either. They'd rather sit in their backwater and than accept JR's bribes. I think Haleyville is really a morality tale.

Ex-roomates. "Superman Returns." Dental work. The Carter Administration. Leg cramps. A mild heart attack.

I would accept the return of any and all of these, squared, if i could but erase that insipid storyline from my memory.

There were nights back in those days where I got on bended knee and prayed for a blow to the head.

Yeah I had no use for her storyline.
