he had two sisters. About the first i have no information. The second died 2010 with age 95

I wish Jim Davis could live long as his sister did. I have just watched the last episode with Jock and shocked seeing his face, almost could not recognize him. I do not know what he was going trough, but the treatments was terrible for sure.

Jim Davis was found to have had cancer in the summer of 1980 and started undergoing chemotherapy soon after,that's why he looks fine at the start of the 1980-1981 season,but got worse as that season progressed. His death in April 1981 was right after surgery for a perforated ulcer.

Is this perforated ulcer related to his cancer or was a 2nd illness? Is that true Victoria Principal had very similar looking as Jim Davis' daughter who passed away in car accident?

Jim Davis had been dealing with the ulcer for some time and it just got worse until surgery was the only option.
Yes,Jim had a daughter who died in a car accident in 1970. Victoria Principal said that Jim used to carry a picture of his daughter in his wallet right next to a picture of her and the resemblance was uncanny. She also said that that is probably why they had such a special bond. Any boyfriend she had,Jim wanted to meet him to make sure he was okay.
