Christopher Cazenove...
Was a bit pants really, wasn't he? Hes more than a little hammy. Not as good as Kate O'Mara or Stephanie Beacham.
Don't stone me to death for that. But While watching him again in seaosn 7, He is all raised eye brow, posturing and high camp. But I don't think he knew it at the time.
I love Ben and hes entertaining..... But a great actor he wasn't.

I'm sort of meh on Ben and Cazenove... He wasn't the worst conceived or cast, but not the best either. As usual, it's hard to separate the character from the disappointing writing.

If Ben wouldve actually done something in season 7 rather than sneer or later on become father of the year then i'dve appreciated him more but he wasn't missed when he left and Christopher Cazenove was a good character actor so his talent was completely under used and wasted just like all the other actors on dynasty

He just seems very Panto to me. But I suspect thats what he was instructed to be like.

It's too bad that the producers couldn't get James Coburn for the part. He was not only at better acting, he could emit a greater sense of menace than Christopher.
It also would have been more believable having him as Blake's brother than Christopher.

Maybe he felt in that particular era of Dynasty, an OTT, campy performance was the only way to make any impact?

Yea thats possible. He could have been trying to match the Punch & Judy style of the rest of the cast.

Chris Cazenove was a fine Actor, the part of Ben wasn't really worthy of his talents.
The worst Brit for me on Dynasty was Michael Praed, brought new meaning to the word wooden,no wonder Prince Michael
survived the Moldavia Massacre being so wooden.

I quite like ben in season 6. OTT yes, but at least that beats wooden which many were for much of the time.

He did a great "evil eyebrow"

I loved his "hagmanesque" style: he obviously was clever enough to know that was the only way to play the role and have a bit of fun in the process...His image of him stopping Krystle at the last season 6 scene was a memorable one.

He looked like a grown-up version of Draco Malfidus.

If you watch season 6 you'll come to the conclusion that Chris was anything but wooden. His acting was good and as good as that of most of the cast. It was season 7 that made him look wooden.
Season 7 was a completely wasted and lost season. It had so much potential that was ruined by bad writing and bad directing. It had some good approaches (putting a bit more realism into the storylines) but the execution was just so dreadful. One should not blame it on the actors.
