I think bad. JR Returns (for better or worse) added a lot to the story on many levels. I couldn't care less if they ignored WOTE. But if the execution is good I suppose it's no worse than the dream season. I guess this is how they can make Rebecca Sutter a Barnes without anyone knowing...

Might also explain why the DVD's were pulled from the European market
I've been unable to find many dvds in the US. Season 13 & 14 I've seen at Best Buy & that's it. No Movie set & none of the other seasons..

Really? I spotted a copy in a local store not long ago.

It can't be good, because at least JR Returns did a nice job of tying up all the loose ends that they didn't get a chance to due to the quick cancellation of the series in 1991. Undoing what we thought has been fact for over 20 years now isn't going to gain Cidre & Co any credibility with the Dallas die-hards.
Might as well just do another dream to kick the new series off.

Since the reunions were pretty dire especially WOTE (embarassing was the word) I think its good news.

Doesn't matter IMO, the reunions were made and are part of the show's history. If Cidre is doing a reboot w/ continuation, CONTINUE it from when we last saw the characters. WOTE was terrible, but there's no logical reason why they couldn't have just picked up from there.
Exactly! While I didn't care for everything in JRR, & have nothing good to say on WOTE, they are a part of the show's history, a fairly recent history at that. JRR added quite a bit storywise, most importantly Cliff finding his daughter, selling Ewing Oil to Bobby & SE, JR ousting Mac from Westar & taking his spot. All very important events & not too difficult to pick up from. If an amateur like myself can write my way out of that situation, Cidre should be able to as well. The price for my affection on this new show has quadrupled today...

Honestly, I think it's just lazy. As a big daytime soap fan, the past 10-15 years our soaps have been absolutely destroyed with some of the most inane storylines, but still, I've seen good writers come in and turn everything around. You CAN make these stories work and weave the interesting plot threads to create a good story. I also don't think it makes it more confusing for new viewers. I don't really care either way, but this is the lazy, easy way out. Considering how much time has passed since WOTE, it's not like you really need to use much from those movies anyway, but they should be considered canon. Especially JR Returns and simple things like Pamela Rebecca already knowing the cast.
I also notice they have Elena and Carmen arriving at Southfork in 1989, which means they're just disregarding whatever they want. I can handle it if it serves the plot in anyway, but you don't need that when you consider the show ended in 1991. There's so much time off screen that so many of these things could've happened.
How stupid. I don't care how bad the reunion movies were, don't try to tell me that what I saw with my own eyes didn't happen. What's the point of following a serialized drama if what you're watching is just going to be retroactively tossed out later?
At least we don't have Sue Ellen living as a single women in Southfork like we had in WOTE anymore.
Why haven't The Reunion Movies been released on DVD? They can't just ignore them, sure DVD Season 9 wasn't cannon, yet they released that TV Season.
I actually like "War Of The Ewings", it's not bad. Why does everyone hate it so much?
They have been released on DVD. At least in the U.S.
