Funny. I can't name a single Eminem song, although I've seen him singing on awards shows over the years. Maybe I'm just old, but I think Eminem is as over-hyped as Justin Bieber. I understand that they have very different musical styles and lyrics, but neither of them appeal to me.

Here's a warning to the rest of you. The next big Canadian 'talent' that is getting more hype than she deserves is a local named Carly Rae Jepson. And just like Bieber, I have a feeling you're going to get sick of her fast:

@ "Canadian high school." I can see why that would upset Bieber though. Everytime he does a Canadian interview, he seems determined to present himself as a respectable ambassador for our country in other parts of the world. He is well-aware that American comics like to make fun of their northern neighbors. We've been listening to Canadian jokes on American TV shows for years, which probably made Letterman's comments sting more than they should have.

Especially given how bad American schools are.

It's funny. She lives nearby, so my local papers are filled with Carly Rae Jepson stories and she gets interviews on our local TV stations often as well, yet I've never heard her sing a plain song without that computery Katy Perry sound. Everytime I look at her mouth, I think she should sound like Carly Simon. Wishful thinking.

I think she was the runner-up on Canadian Idol a few years ago, but then she faded back into obscurity until Bieber heard her on a Canadian radio station and Tweeted that he loved "Call Me Maybe". As a result, her video has had more than 127 million views on YouTube, she's made numerous appearances on US TV shows, and she's signed to Bieber's American record label. I personally find it depressing that Biebs has that kind of clout. As Bryan Adams sang in the 1980s, "This computerized crap ain't gettin' me off."

Minx that's fine if you don't like Emimen, i enjoy his music. he's just a guy who's music i don't take serious, kinda like i love ICP & i'm actually listening to them now. but they are just a matter of ones taste. they have LOTS of fans but i don't take their music seriously to be honest. i just get a kick out of some of their lyrics to be honest.

anyways, i've never heard of this other chick. i can't stand "Katy Perry" someone recently gave me a small poster with her on it. & hell i just gave it to someone else. but i listen to a LOT of different types of music mind you. there aren't to many of today's music i listen to.

i just can't see any REAL talent these days in music. of new bands that come out that is. one of my favorite singers is "Poe" & she's only done 2 albums & she hasn't done an album in 12 years actually. but she's a LOT better than most of today's music, that's for damn sure. have you heard of her?
