    Default Dallas today

For those of you lucky enough to have visited Dallas, I wonder if you could let me know your views on what the city is like these days? My only knowledge is from watching the show, and I just wondered what it is really like? Ie wealth v poverty, presumably it is not as caucasian as the tv show, the cleanliness, the crime, dialects, friendliness, industry etc.

    I would love to hear!

I have been in downtown Dallas a few times. There is actually very little. I have always been on a weekday, I wonder where all the people are working in all those skyscrapers are. Maybe they go to lunch later than I.

Dealey plaza in of course a must-see, everything is in a walking distance.

I have never seen any suspicious or have a feeling of unsafety.

My thoughts about Dallas and SF are in this thread

    http://www.soapchat.net/showthread.p...d-photos-added

I have been in lots of US cities and Dallas was one that I felt less safe in as a female on my own - I have never been approached by so many homeless people, alcoholics or junkies as in Dallas - maybe because i was on my own and I didnt hire a car there and had to rely on transport like buses or Dart, so it was at bus and train stations mainly
thats my only downside - and at the weekends, its seemed to be deserted! ie city centre

I go there every couple years and I enjoy it. I have been approached by a druggie but I love all the Texas cities so I put up with it. I think the city is beautiful. You will have to drive around to get to places since the whole metroplex is so spread out. The downtown is never as crowded as Chicago or New York, but then again those are more exceptions than rules.
