Buddy, you should be thanking me for putting the Farm thing in it's rightful and correct context, you could move on. The Farm takes minutes of your life to watch, valuable time, I'm trying to save you.

HA! It's quite all right. I know I have more patience than most. Trust me, all those waits pay off huge everytime though...except for the Leviathans. Still waiting on that.

Julia only gets bigger (as in role-wise and importance) and better from her introduction on though if that's any consolation (or encouragment).

I'm up to episode 13 of Emmerdale Farm... I just find it so mesmerising. Its not BIG drama, its small and subtle, and Sheila Mercer just binds it all together. And the scenes with origi-Jack are almost perfect. Frazer Hines is useless mind, I hope he gets better.
They've never really had a replacement strong matriarch since she left in the early 90s... I mean, Annie wouldn't have found herself in a [although wonderful] rape storyline like Lisa Dingle. I think/hope Diane is heading towards the Annie part in the current show.

    I think you've overtaken me. I've ...stopped.

Life is too short for EMMERDALE FARM.

There are so many great scenes to come between those two. I'd watch them forever, they don't even have to say anything - what is not being said makes it so fascinating & sad.

He comes into his own soon, I think they tell an interesting little story with Joe.

Oh I'd like to think that she already is. It was maybe more obvious after Jack died when she brought all the Sugdens together to make the farm work before losing it to the Bartons. I think the pay off to all that came the other night when she referred to Sarah as her granddaughter, I thought that was such a lovely moment.

As Jack's widow she carries around all that history. And it's not just the Sugdens, she's the mother figure to so many characters in the show.

It was good to see Annie back in 2009 for Jack's funeral. And the fact the episode was based on the first ever episode.

It is 2 years today since I went to Esholt.

Last nights episode of Emmerdale felt very early Emmerdale Farm ish but it did not have the compelling boringness of those 1972 episodes. Last nights episode was almost as depressing as a depressing EastEnders episode and was just so boring. That was boring beyond boringness was last nights episode, more boring than everything in the universe and outer, outer space and more boring than any shape, size, form, solid, liquid or gas or any molecular structure. The show is not usually that boring and depressing but last nights ep was beyond belief and I felt like I was having a 30 minute nap.

Yes, and this was my experience of every bit of this show I've ever sufffered through. However, now that Volume 4 is out I simply MUST stop watching DARK SHADOWS and get back to the vacuum of eternal waste that is this show. I will give it one more go.

She had a Laura Avery moment...you'd never have guessed that subnormal Matty could have something in common with Greg Sumner but he does.

    Think Meg and the MacKenzies.

Good for you. The show of today has been a bit diabolical yet a certain member who has not posted for a while thinks Emmerdale is eternally fantastic. I love the show but am not under any delusions and have my gripes.

What about trying any Coronation Street old episodes?

Oh i LOVE old Corrie, I've watched the 1960's dvd box set three times and ive got the 1970's on my Amazon list... i'm gutted they arent releasing the 1960's in there entirety, we can hope I suppose...if CROSSROADS is doing it and selling it could be worth a roll of the dice for Corrie.

When I was in Germany, I showed some CORRIE episodes from 1976 to a couple of people who don't watch the present day show, and they were just amazed at how good it was.

And then you untied them and let them go?

I remember once bringing some friends of mine to James' flat in London and we put on KNOTS LANDING and i appararently then bulldozed them every 5 seconds saying "It's great isn't it.... did you like that bit... she's really good isn't she... look how great that set is.. how fantastic is that line that she just said?" Needles to say they thought we were both insane ( James got tarred with my brush).

I wanted to go to bed; they kept asking for "just one more episode".

I think now Corrie is becoming my fave soap now as Emmie is pretty tripe at the mo. Corrie is toppling Emmerdale as my fave soap. Although I still like the 2 shows history as much as each other.

Let me guess, you haven't had time to do a review as you were so blown away by Episode 14 that you ended up watching another 40 episodes.
