Can't WAIT for 1897 !!!! (that sounds really weird doesn't it)
I'm feeling very smug. I have solved the mysetry of who was sending Vicky those 50$ bills and who recommended her for the job etc etc. The show - apparently- doesn't resolve it, but I've worked it out and it's brilliant. But- I have only worked it out because of a spoiler I read by accident, so I won't reveal my big theory UNTIL I've actually watched it.

Have you been watching today yet, Sunny? Have you seen fake Carolyn?
She looked like a doll. Probably was.

Ha , no fake Carolyn hasn't rocked up yet! I watched a few last night but I've had to finish editing DARK FALCON so my schedule was reduced, I fully intend to catch up this weekend though, I'm so so addicted to this show. I love Vamp Angelique, she seems to struggle with the teeth even more than Barnabus... Oh and listen, I need to say how my new favorite scene in the whole world is the one where Liz gives instructions to Lawyer Trask about her will and she rattles off a series of instructions about her funeral.
Liz; " And I want a marble slab, my coffin must be placed on the slab, and my coffin must contain a button, when I press the button it will be connected to bells in the tower, and the bells must ring all over the house etc etc"
Lawyer Trask " These instructions are a little unusual"
Liz " Not if you know you're going to be buried alive"

...and I want a remote control thingy placed around my neck that will allow me to press a button and say dramatically, "I've fallen...and I can't get up!"

In today's episode Carolyn will be played by..... Barbara Streisand.
There are no words to describe the insanity. It's all very reminiscent of DOCTOR WHO 'The Brain of Morbius'.
But , one thing does keep me puzzled. How is Julia the head of Wycliffe when she never ever goes in to work? And what is she doing still living in Collinwood? It doesn't have to make any sense but it's very funny.
Finally Adam was called on his childish insane behaviour, it's a small moment but it felt quite rewarding for some to call him childiish. Roger's back and talking about sales conferences. He's offering places on a seminar in Boston but unfortuunatly everyone's far too busy making frankenstein's bride to be messing around with sales trips. It's like SONS AND DAUGHTERS meets LOST IN SPACE via DOCTOR WHO.

Everyone keeps walking into Maggie's bedroom. Is that what people did in the 1960's? They knock on the door, when they don't get an answer instead of leaving they walk right in, through the lounge area and into your bedroom? No wonder they called it the swinging sixties.
Does anyone know how far ahead they taped the show until it aired?

I have no exact quotes, but I got the idea over the years that they did the live-to-tape performance and only went to in post-production if any special effects needed to be added in. The episode would air a week or so later. During the filming of the first DS movie, they had production hold-ups that alternately made them go dark for a few days, then tape stuff ahead as the various actors were available...but that was only a brief period (six/eight weeks?). Keep in mind that a lot of soaps were still doing their shows live (and would continue well into the 1970s).

Ok thanks.... it suddenly occurred to me that fairly soon ish I will see the episode that they made on the day I was born in 1969! I hope it's good one.
Barnabus uttered the most fabulous gaff to Vicky in the garden patio set ( suddenly it's summer? I prefer the thunderstorms) when he told her " Rest assured I will do everything in my power to make sure you are not happy"

By pushing her into the arms of that oaf, Jeff Clark? Success, Mr. Collins. Watching him kiss a co-star is like watching a car plow into a wall.

Yeah I keep expecting Jeff Clarke to start singing. I have no idea why. This frankenstein story is going on forever. I could do with it ending soon, it's been brilliant but it's just going on and on and on and on .... and now Maggie's ben kidnapped its guaranteed to go on for another 8 years. Whenever anyone is kidnapped it seems to go on forever.
Julia and Barnabus are so good when they're up against a moral dilemma. They always decide to do the totally wrong thing and justify by saying they have no choice, it's great. Julia is totally nuts. That's not news to anyone but i thougt I'd throw that in.

Oh, what happened? I'm fuzzy. I seem to remember Julia with the switches looking like Frank 'N' Furter from Rocky Horror

HAHA yes exactly.... it's just the most outlandish sequence, it really is like ROCKY HORROR , you've hit it on the head perfectly. Can things actually get any more nuts than this storyline? It's difficult to imagine where the show is going....

Oh yes, true,
I just thought it was hilarious that he vowed to kill everyone at Colinwood over Carolyn but it was something HE wanted to begin with. Dumbass.

Eve ! There are no words....... the insanity continues. I do love how compromised Julia is now, she's in it right up to her neck, it was kinda menacing seeing her trying to hypnotise Maggie again. This time it felt really dark, it's a bit liek KNOTS LANDING season 5 when everyone is compromised especially Laura.
