    MASH- Farewell to a Friend

This is set in Abysinnia Henry, Henry Blake's final episode.

Hawkeye looked at Trapper, waiting for him to say something, anything. This couldn't be real. A minute ago they had been informed that their good friend and colleague Henry Blake had been killed. He'd been on his way to Bloomington, Illinois, only to have his plane shot down over the Sea of Japan. He never stood a chance. And now they were left to deal with the aftermath of a tragedy that should never have happened.

Radar was in shock, he couldn't believe the loss of his friend. The words came out of his mouth but he couldn't believe what he had to say. Nothing he'd been through prepared him for this moment. Looking around at his comrades was impossible, for he could barely handle his own grief. All he wanted to do was run out of the O.R. as fast as his feet could take him. The man who he loved like a father had perished and there was nothing he could do. His friend was gone, and Radar just wanted to go home. Henry was a man whom Radar loved like a father and was also a good friend. This man had taught him many things about life and could never be replaced. In a million years Radar would never be able to make sense of this tragedy.

"Retractor." Hawkeye called out to the nurse, who repeated his request.

    "Scalpel."

    "Scalpel." The nurse obediently repeated.

This routine went on for another hour. Everyone went about their business while processing the news. Trapper would look over at Hawkeye, who avoided everyone's gazes. Margaret kept close to Frank , who kept quiet. Frank repeatedly looked to his girlfriend for advice on how to handle this tragic situation. She was at a loss for words. All she knew to do was dry her tears and carry on to the best of her ability. Determined not to let this interfere with her job, she was nonetheless devastated by the loss of her commander. They were not close but he was part of her daily life and she was not so callous that she would wish this kind of tragedy on anyone. If she could do things over again, she would still carry on business on usual but perhaps she would have taken a little more time to get to know him better. She might have had a drink or two with him. Now all she would have would be the memories of going over his head over his inept leadership skills with the camp. Inept, but he did have a way with the men that she may have underestimated. Margaret couldn't help but think of his children. She knew that Henry had little ones who were waiting patiently for their father, and they would be devastated when they would learn of the news. She herself hadn't lost her parents and couldn't imagine the pain of losing a loved one, especially at such a young age. It wasn't fair. A child shouldn't have to learn of the harsh reality of war. They were so innocent and knew nothing of wars and the lessons of good and evil. And Lorraine, poor Lorraine. To be a widow at such a young age, well, Margaret couldn't imagine being put in such a position. Lorraine was so young and deserved a lifetime of happiness with her family and to have that taken from her, well that was just cruel. And on the day her husband was coming home of all days! It was a shame, a crying shame, and she felt sick to her stomach. Henry was many things, not all of them good, but mostly he was a good man and he had deserved a long life with his family and now he would never get to see his family again. War was hell.

Father Mulcahy grew quiet and weary. It was going to take all of his strength to get through the next week. He wasn't prepared for this death, and it had hit him hard. All eyes had turned to him, and he knew they would be on him for some time to come. He could only pray for the strength and wisdom and courage to find the right words to say to the members of the 4077. His own pain would have to wait. This was a most difficult task being asked of him and he had to be ready to answer the call. There were no easy answers for the questions that were surely going to be asked of him. Why did this have to happen to Henry Blake? That was a question he himself wanted to know, but it was no time for personal self-seeking revelations. The good of the many came first. Such is the life for the man of the cloth. He must be ready immediately to help those in pain, and there was no doubt that there would be many in need of his services. This was a dark day indeed. His own anger at God would just have to wait.

Klinger watched Trapper and Hawkeye continue to work and he didn't say anything. This just made him resolve to try harder to get out. There was no way he would wind up like Colonel Blake, rest his soul. He had too much to lose. His family needed him too much. He could only imagine what his family would be feeling if they were to get the letter that Colonel Blake's family would be getting. His poor mother's heart wouldn't be able to take it. And then there was Toledo. Toledo really seemed a million miles away. They say home is where the heart is, and he'd never heard a truer expression in his life. Suddenly it seemed as if he'd forgotten what baklava smelled like, what Packo's tasted like. Would he ever go home? Would he make it there in one piece? His section 8 schemes didn't seem so crazy after all.

Frank looked over at the teary-eyed Margaret and it nearly broke his heart. He knew that he couldn't afford to wax poetic about the late Colonel but he couldn't help but think about what his death meant. He was in charge! Oh, sure, he should feel bad for thinking of that so quickly but he couldn't help himself. A commander had so many responsibilities. This was his chance to prove himself. Where Colonel Blake had failed in many areas, he would succeed. He would bring order to the camp. The men and women would respect him. No more mumbo jumbo, especially from those two nimrods. Now he could really show who's in charge. He would have to put his foot down about a lot of things. The first thing he would do will be to get rid of that awful distillery in his tent. Colonel Blake may have tolerated that tomfoolery but he wasn't about to. Colonel Blake- the camp wasn't going to be the same without him. May he rest in peace.

Trapper just wanted to finish up the patient he was working on and get back to the tent. His buddy was gone and there was nothing he could do about it. He felt sick, as if he'd been sucker-punched. He'd spent so many days and nights with Henry, sharing drinks and laughs. There were very few people around these parts that he considered friends, and Henry was one of them. Henry, crazy Henry.. Whether it was getting plastered and slurring his words or attatching his finger to a lure in his hat, Henry always could be counted on for a wasn't always a man of words. There was the time the latrine blew up with him in it. He simply said " Boom." It wasn't so much what he said but the way he said it. They shared many good times. He'd been so happy for his friend when he'd gotten his points. It was hard to believe he was gone.

No one was more devastated than Hawkeye at the loss of Henry Blake. He was like an older brother to him, one which he'd never had. He was comical, true, but he also knew how to be supportive and serious when he needed to. Henry was there for him when he suffered the loss of his friend Tommy Gills, and offered him some sound advice. Hawkeye couldn't imagine what this war would have been like without his commander. Under any other colonel, it might have been completely unbearable. With Henry, he knew how far to push and what he could get away with (a lot). They had some good times and good laughs, which he couldn't imagine sharing with any other commander, especially not Frank Burns. At one point he would have gone to any length to keep Henry, including faking Radar's illness. There was no one he'd rather have lead the 4077. Now Hawkeye was without his comrade, and he didn't know what he would do. His friend was gone and he couldn't do a thing to save him. He was lost forever, banished in a watery grave. The thought of his friend dying like that would forever torture him.

Henry didn't want to die. There was so much he wanted to do. He wanted to kiss his wife like there was no tomorrow. She was the greatest cook in the world, not to mention lover. He longed to play baseball with his son and watch his girls play dress-up. There were barbeques to be had. All he could think about on the plane home was how happy he finally was. He had perspective. He wouldn't mind the chores, and he wouldn't mind the nagging if he forgot to do his share around the house. He liked to think he wouldn't forget anything but he knew himself. He would like to think that he'd be the perfect husband but Lorraine would probably have a few things to say about that. How he got so lucky he'd never know. All he knew is he just wanted to get back and have a normal life. Say hello to the neighbors. Pay the bills. Go out to eat now and then. Maybe have another kid. And now he would never get the chance. All because of a blasted police action.

    The end

Default Take my Hand (Law and Order Special Victims Unit)

    One shot

Olivia and Elliott both were angry, and lost. They both were blaming themselves for the death of Amy Miller. She was 4 years old, they got her away from her abusive Father, but the Courts handed her back 2 weeks later. They knew the child would be hurt again, they remembered the day they saw her. She was hiding in a closet with a teddy bear clutched in her hands. She was rocking back, and forth. She had been beaten they were grateful she wasn't sexually abused at least.

Olivia carried her out to the Police car , and drove her over to the Hospital herself. She held her hand during the whole exam. She remembered her Mother coming into the hospital, because she was also beaten. Olivia had no sympathy for her, how could she stay in a that house while that man beat her , and her little girl? Meg saw her Daughter, and ran over touching her face. Olivia almost pulled her away, but Amy cried out for her Ma Ma. The Mother was taken into custody, Amy went into Child Protective Custody. Olivia called everyday, they said Amy was doing much better.

Olivia and Elliott had no idea that Amy's father Frank was released from prison. Her Mother Meg was not charged, she was given custody again, only under one exception, she couldn't allow Frank back into her life. He had to be at least 300 yards from her and Amy at all times. She agreed but Olivia knew from past experiences, Mother's always take the abuser back. She brought Frank back in, and 2 days later Meg and Amy both were dead. Olivia and Elliott were there seeing Amy made them both ill. It was like all the hard work to save children was for nothing. They handed her back trusting the Mother, when they knew she was so mixed up herself.

Olivia and Elliott went to their car, they both were silent. Elliott turned, "I'm going to get a drink, do you want one"?

"Yes, I need one but this isn't going to help us Elliott"

"It will help me why do we do this Olivia"?

"We saved her, it isn't our fault, we didn't send her back"

"Does that make you feel better Olivia, it doesn't make me feel better"?

"I feel horrible but blaming ourselves will destroy us Elliott". They got to the bar, and he sat at a booth. He ordered a beer, she said she wanted the same. He was looking around , "Olivia how many people in here, lead abusive lives, how many beat their spouses, or children"?

'A few probably, Elliott go home to Kathy, and the kids".

"Yeah that will make me feel better, she isn't happy with me. I'm miserable she says, she will never understand what we do. I hate seeing children suffer, she was so young, she trusted us Olivia".

"I know Elliott, stop this please".

"I don't know if I can do this anymore Olivia"

"Elliott maybe you need a holiday, a few weeks off".

"Like that will make it better, Olivia I thought I was going to make a difference, but nothing will. You catch one, there is two more behind every tree in New York City. We will never stop them, it gets worse, and worse every year".

The waitress brought the beers, Olivia paid her. She moved them aside, she stood up, "Come on Elliott go home see your kids, tomorrow you will feel better". Elliott looked at Olivia, she whispered "Take my hand, lets get out of here". He grabbed her hand, and hugged her, she was a good friend. He knew he would be back on the job tomorrow, but today he wanted to throw this career out the window. He knew he will never get the image of Amy out of his mind, but he knew as time went on it would get easier. He knew he didn't save Amy but he has saved so many children like her. He walked out of the Bar with Olivia, and they went home, knowing today changed them forever, but they knew their friendship was the only thing keeping them sane, because they both knew they always could depend on each other.

Default Fred You Sexy Thing. I Love Lucy (One Shot)

Ethel came over to Lucy's place, she was so down.

"Ethel what is the matter, you seem so upset"?

"Lucy I don't want you to laugh, but I think Fred has eyes for someone else"

"Fred are you kidding, come on he isn't exactly a sex symbol"

"Lucy Fred is something, so don't you say that to me"

"Why would you think he has eyes for someone else"?

"Well for 2 nights he didn't come home for dinner. He called but he said he had to help a friend. I asked him who, and he said I didn't know her".

"Well this isn't going to keep happening, how dare Fred treat you this way"?

"I love him Lucy he is my life, I know I complain sometimes, but if I lost him, I would die". Lucy sat down holding her hand, "You won't, and you wouldn't die you have me and Desi".

"I know but it wouldn't be the same, I think I will go home, I'm really tired".

"Ethel lets go find Fred , and see where he goes when he should be home. You deserve to know who this woman is".

"Oh if he thought I was spying he would be so angry, forget it Lucy". Ethel left, and Lucy was so upset seeing her best friend so sad. She grabbed her coat, and purse, and left to go find Fred, she knew he would be at the diner he loved. She stood outside, and saw him come out, he normally walked home . She followed him, and saw him walk into a building, only 10 minutes from home. She couldn't believe Ethel was right, he was seeing someone. Lucy went inside, and she saw what apartment he went into. She was so angry, she walked down knocking on the door yelling Fred's name. He opened the door, Lucy wanted to shake him. "Fred what are you doing, Ethel is at home, so upset? She loves you, and your hurting her like this. I never expected this from you, I thought you and Ethel would be together forever. You go home right this moment, and tell her to her face, have the courage to be a man".

"Lucy you have no idea what you are talking about"

"Really why are you here, and not at home with Ethel"?

A lady came to the door, she was blind, she whispered, "Fred is something the matter"?

"Oh Susan I'm sorry, go sit down, Lucy is leaving, I will be there in a minute".

Susan smiled, "Ok Fred you are a dear helping me, you surely are the sweetest man, Ethel is so lucky to have you". Fred took her to the couch, and sat her down. He walked over to the door, "She is a friend I use to work with, she had a accident, and went blind. She can't work, so we all chip in to help her around the house. Her family can only visit on weekends, she was amazing at work it is the least we can do. You go home Lucy, I will explain to Ethel when I get there. I'm really disappointed in both of you expecting me of cheating". Fred shut the door, Lucy felt horrible she walked home, and went to Ethel's.

"Lucy what is the matter you look like your in trouble"?

"I followed Fred, and you were right he went to a ladies home. You are so wrong about him Ethel, he wouldn't hurt you that way. He is helping a woman that he worked with, she went blind. Fred is amazing Ethel, I'm so sorry he is so angry".

"Lucy you never keep your nose out of other Peoples business. You go home, I will handle my husband, thanks for making him angry at me". Ethel shut the door, Lucy was so upset she went home. She saw Desi, and she walked over sitting beside him.

"Lucy it looks like you lost your best friend".

"I just might have, Desi I made a horrible mistake. Ethel was worried about Fred, she thought he was cheating"

    "Fred are you both crazy"?

"No I followed him, I laid into him, but he was just being a friend".

"Lucy why did you do that, you made thing's worse"? Lucy started to cry, Desi hugged her, and she laid her head on his shoulder feeling just horrible.

Fred came home, he hung up his coat, and Ethel walked over to him.

'Fred I'm so sorry, I never told Lucy to follow you"

"You told her I was cheating, how could you think that"?

"You are so sexy, I just thought".

Fred smiled, "Sexy oh Ethel, I love you". She hugged him, he held her tight, and whispered, "Ethel you are the only girl for me, I love you". She whispered, "I love you to Fred, I would die if I lost you". They both kissed, and they went into the living room, and talked. It was 1 hour later, Ethel and Fred showed up at Lucy's place. Desi opened the door, "Oh I didn't think we would see you both for a while"

Fred smiled, "We came to tell Lucy we are not mad at her. Ethel got Lucy worked up, she realized, she was just being a friend". Lucy walked out of the kitchen, "Oh Ethel , Fred"

"Lucy I'm sorry for yelling at you, will you forgive me"?

"Forgive you, I'm the one that made the big mess, will you forgive me"?

"No it was my fault, not yours".

"No it was my fault Ethel".

Fred laughed, "It was both of your faults, just hug, and make up."

Lucy and Ethel hugged, while Fred and Desi shook hands. That day was stressful for all of them, but they also became closer. They would be friends forever, and they knew they would always be there for each other. Ethel knew she had the most wonderful husband, that she would treasure forever.

    Good Enough

Response to the Characters you hate challenge. This is a MASH story, I picked Frank Burns, who's more of a character you love to hate but still...

Today was Margaret's wedding day and Frank Burns was excited. It was going to be the day she left ol' Donald for him. He'd left a note in her tent asking her to meet her out in the fields where they used to take their picnics and he would pick her flowers and then he would have the answer to his question. He wasn't going to leave his wife for her, well, maybe not. All he knew was that he couldn't make it through the rest of the war without his Margaret by his side. He'd blown it, he knew that, but all he needed was one last chance. One chance to make things right for the two of them. After all, she still loved him, didn't she? It was a quarter till one, and the wedding was supposed to start at one, so Frank knew it was just a matter of minutes until his love came back.

Frank didn't know why he was the way he was. He knew he wasn't the most popular person in camp, not the way that that sneaky Hawkeye Pierce or that clever B.J. Hunnicutt were. He never saw what was so special about those two. So they made people laugh, so what? Frank's father always taught him to never trust a person who couldn't look you straight in the eye without laughing. It meant they were up to something, and in these two's cases, his father was absolutely correct. They were always trying to pull a fast one on someone, usually him, and chaos was the result. Not what you needed in the Army and not what you needed durning war. Order, control, and leadership were what this place needed, and it was hard pressed to find much of it here. If only he hadn't been passed over for promotion after Henry Blake died, things might be a little different around here.

Frank didn't let on, not to Margaret or not to anyone but that devestated him when they gave control of the camp to Colonal Potter instead of himself. Why not him? He was regulation, he could give them order, he could get this place in line if only he'd had the chance. But just like was the story of his life, he was passed over for someone else, someone braver, someone stronger, someone with more experience. In his life it was always someone else.

Especially with the girls. Every time he'd get the nerve to ask one out they'd make up some phoney excuse and hang out with the guy they really like. There was Shirley Maroni. Boy she was the cutest thing in a skirt he'd ever seen. And she was so kind to him. She would walk with him home from school, he would really open up about how things were at home, he trusted always teased him about being one of her younger brothers but he didn't care. Frank was going to ask her out if that was the last thing he did. Finally he got the nerve to ask her out on for this Friday night when she apologized and said she had to stay home and wash her hair. He sighed, but there was always another chance. He knew he could get another chance to win her over. Well Friday night came and he decided to go to the movies and who did he see there? Shirley Maroni and some other guy. He couldn't believe it. Lied to… the thought never crossed his mind that she didn't want to hurt his feelings. The message he got were women, like other people, were not to be trusted.

And then there was Margaret. She was nothing like his wife. Fiery and intellegent (he normally hated that in a woman) and headstrong she always got what she wanted. Frank couldn't even concieve of why she'd picked him if he were honest with himself. But he usually wasn't, so it didn't even occur to him that she might leave him someday. And that day had happened without any warning. She'd found another man who was now expecting to be Margaret's husband.

But that wasn't going to happen. Frank checked his watch-it was one-thrirty. The wedding must already be half over by now. She wasn't coming. There wasn't much left for him to do. Might as well stay out here for a while, he thought. No sense in going back to a celebration that I won't feel much like celebrating. He lay down in the green grass, realizing he could only hide out for so long. As long as he didn't have to face the others, he could keep on fooling himself. As long as he still sat out here away from everyone, Maragret was still his, and for now, that was good enough for him.

    The End

Awesome one shot Melinda, I wasn't a big Frank fan. I loved this story, I hope you post more one shots, you write them so well. I actually felt bad for Frank in this story.

I Love Lucy and the one shot was great. The title makes me laugh. Fred? Sexy?
The M*A*S*H was good too, even though I can't stand Frank's butt.

    Worth the Wait (Golden Girls)

[I]This takes place immediately at the end of the episode Mrs. George Deveraux, the one where Blanche dreams her husband is alive. This asks what if it weren't a dream, that George really had come back from the dead. I]

Blanche Deveraux couldn't help herself. She just needed to feel the warmth of her George against her skin. She'd held many, many men but none had compared to her own husband. For the first time in nine years, she believed she was truly happy. She'd found what she was looking for. Could this be happening to her? Could it be that George had come back to her? She had so many questions for him. But for right now she just wanted to savor this moment for as long as she could. He was hers again, and that was all she needed to know.

Finally the moment came when she had to let him go. Silently she vowed that she would never let him out of her room for as long as she lived. Blanche just couldn't take the chance of him disappearing from her life again. These past nine years had been the most awful years of her life. There were no words to explain the heartache she' d experienced when the call came that George had perished in a car accident. And she felt so angry with herself because her last thoughts of him were that she hated him for leaving his shoes in the middle of the living room. She would have given anything to be able to replace that thought with a more proper and loving one. One that a good wife would have thought. She'd lost a lot of sleep over those feelings of guilt. When George told her he forgave her for thinking that, she'd felt a lot of relief and happiness that she'd never thought she'd feel. George was nothing if not a loving man, and he was all hers again.

She couldn't take her eyes off of him. Time had been good to him. He was more handsome than ever, if that was possible. His hair was grayer, and he'd grown a moustache, but his eyes were just as expressive and his smile was just as kind as they ever were. All she wanted to do was stay in his arms forever. She never thought she could love one man, but she loved George Deveraux. How she loved him, and how she grieved for him. She'd been doing a great deal of thinking and at times she didn't think she could forgive him for what he'd done to her. But Rose was right; how many women would give their right arms to be in her position. She herself had many sleepless nights wishing she could hold him one last time and now that dream had come true.

It was hard to believe that the man that Blanche loved had betrayed her so. Her mind simply could not process that bit of information. It would take her some time to get over it, but in her heart she knew that she would. He was the great love of her life and he was back. Her life as she knew it was about to change and for the better. She was once again a married woman. She could forget about all those nights of meaningless sex. The men that she thought she couldn't live without were now just a distant memory. She was a one-man woman now, and she would always be faithful to her husband. She would make up for lost time, and she hoped that he would do the same. She was a lucky, lucky woman.

"Darlin, a penny for your thoughts." George smiled at her as he sat across from her.

"I'm just thinking about what a gift we have. Things can be different this time. We have a second chance to make things right. There are so many things that I want to say to you. You don't know how much I've missed you. You are the great love of my life, you know."

"As you are mine. Blanche, I will find a way to make this up to you. I swear I never meant to hurt you. I hope that you can find a way in your heart to forgive me. Let's start over again. It can be better than before. I'll build my business up again and give you the kind of life you deserve. We can do this. I don't deserve you and I know it. I never did and I certainly don't now. But I will do my best to make you a happy woman."

Blanche took a deep breath. "You already have. When I saw you in that restaurant I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought that God was playing a cruel joke on me. Maybe it was your brother Jamie. But I knew it was you. I just knew. But I didn't know why I was given this second chance. I was so angry. And I still am. It's something I'm going to have to work through. It's going to take time. I was mad that you left me the first time and now that I know that you did it on purpose I feel even more devastated. I don't know that I can trust you. Every time you walk out the door I know that I will be wondering if it's the last time that I will see you. So don't make any promises George. Because I don't think that you can keep them."

And Blanche meant that. She may have given George her heart but it didn't mean that she would open herself to him completely.

"Darlin, I know that you will have a hard time believing a word I say. And when I get back, I will work on earning your trust again. I will do what ever it takes to get you to believe in me."

Blanche couldn't believe what she had just heard. "When you get back? And just where do you think you're going?"

"I have to go back to Atlanta to finish up some business. I wasn't sure that you would take me back. I promise I'll be back within a month. I'll…"

The fiery southerner stood up. "How dare you! You walk back into my life only to leave again! You tell me you've changed your ways but I don't believe you for a minute. You come in here asking me to be your wife again and then you tell me that you want to leave me. I don't believe you! You have some nerve waltzing in here like you've done nothing wrong. You destroyed my life and I'm not going to let you do it again. Get out of my life George Deveraux. Go on. I don't care to ever see you again."

George was stunned. He knew that this was a possibility but he thought that Blanche had accepted him. All he wanted was a chance to be her husband again but now she was throwing him out. If this was what she wanted then he had no choice but to respect her wishes. He was a broken man; there was no reason for him to go on. He didn't look at her as he turned around and walked out the door.

Once Dorothy, Rose, and Sophia saw that George had left, they knew that they needed to be with her. She was their friend; if one of them was in pain they all were.

"Are you alright? George just left without saying a word." Dorothy commented as she knocked on Blanche's open bedroom door.

    "George who?"

"Sweetheart, you don't mean that. What happened?"

"I really don't care to discuss it."

Rose spoke up. "Whenever I have a problem I find that talking about it always helps."

"Good for you. But I don't have a problem."

"Now I know that something happened between you and George. I'm not going to stick my nose in where it doesn't belong." Dorothy started.

    "That's a first."

Dorothy ignored her roommate. She was used to Blanche's sarcastic remarks, especially when she was hurting. "I think that whatever happened is tearing you up. It's been a long time since I've seen you in this much pain. I know that you still love him. You wouldn't have welcomed him back into your house if you didn't. I know you heard him out and you had the right to throw him out. He hurt you really badly. But you also loved him really deeply. He was the love of your life and that kind of love only comes around once in a lifetime. What did he do? What did he say?"

Blanche ran her fingers through her hair. "It's not what he said. It's what he's going to do. He said he was going to leave town to take care of business. He said he'd be back in a month but how in the world am I supposed to believe him?"

"You know what this calls for? There's a chocolate cheesecake in the refrigerator and I'll start a pot of coffee." Rose suggested.

    Everyone nodded.

Soon they were they were sitting over their dessert, wondering what to say to Blanche.

"How do you know that he won't be back? I'm sure it takes a lot of work coming back from the dead." Rose finally spoke up.

"Because, you bubblehead, he left me once. How do I know he won't do it again? He obviously doesn't care about my feelings. And he was in Atlanta the whole time. Atlanta! He was so close and didn't even bother to come back to me. He let me waste all of these years of my life. George only came back because he has a guilty conscience. He only wants me because he thinks he can't have me. He doesn't love me. If he did he never would have done this to me in the first place."

"I can't speak for him but it sure seems like he loves you. He came back for you. He had his reasons for leaving and they had nothing to do with you," Dorothy said. "He made a mistake, a terrible, tragic mistake. I spoke to him and I heard what he had to say. He loves you. If you believe in your marriage maybe you should believe in him now. What you two share most people would kill for. I never experienced that with Stan. I would give anything to know that kind of love. Love requires faith. I know he made it impossible for you to give it to him but couldn't you try? What have you got to lose?"

Blanche sighed." I could lose my heart all over again."

The girls looked at each other, feeling bad at Blanche's honesty.

    00000

The next day, Blanche was preparing to go out with Mel Bushman. He'd forgiven her for standing her up the night before. They'd had a history together, and he was the most understanding of her dates. She needed a pick-me up to help her forget the events of the past 24 hours. Losing George was hard enough, but forgetting him would be impossible.

She was putting on her earrings when the doorbell rang. Of course, no one answered it. She set her earring down and went to the living room. She was stunned to see her husband at the door.

"George, what are you doing here?"

"Sophia called. She said that you wanted to see me."

"Obviously she was mistaken." She started to shut the door on him when he placed his hand on it and opened it.

"Please, darlin'. Won't you hear me out?"

"George Deveraux I have nothing to say to you." She said, opening the door.

"Then let me speak. I'm sorry I told you that I had to leave. I was in such a hurry to see you that I didn't take care of my business. I should have had more faith in us and done that first. I can see that I've been wrong about many things and that was one of them. But I was not wrong about you. You were the best thing I've ever done in my life. I was hoping with all of my heart that I could pick up where we left off. I should have known that you would have difficulties trusting in me. I know that I hurt you and nothing I can say or do can make up for it. I love you, and thoughts of you have sustained me throughout the worst years of my life. We belong together. Now if you can look me in the eyes and tell me you don't love me anymore I will walk out this door and you will never see me again. But if not I promise you that I will never leave your side. You can come with me, and we can be together. I will do anything it takes to prove to you that my love is for real." George said passionately.

Blanche was torn. Dare she open her heart to this man who had torn it all apart? She did what she always did when she had a problem that seemed insurmountable- she ran into those strong arms of his.

"Oh George. Don't you ever leave me again. Of course I'll go with you. I need you by my side. I've known from day one that you're the only man for me. I can[t take the chance of losing you again, but that's not why I'm with you. You're the most charming, intelligent, witty, handsome man I've ever known. You complete me. You've brought so much joy into my life. The happiest days of my life I've spent with you. And I intend to hold you for the rest of my days. Don't you ever leave me again."

And for the first time in nine years, they shared their first kiss. It was worth the wait.

    The end

Default Stranded at the Drive In (Grease)

    One shot

Rizzo never felt so alone in all her life. She knew she made a mistake, and she had to live with it. She got in her car, and was about to drive out of the drive in. She brought some of her friends, but they would find rides home. She just wanted to go home, and sleep and forget all her problems. She didn't have a Mother or Father to go to. She had Parents, but they were to busy ruining their own lives to worry about her. She has always been smart, but how could she get herself in this situation? She was driving out, when she spotted Sandy running out of the drive in. She couldn't see Danny, she stopped her car.

"Sandy do you need a ride"?

"No I will walk home Rizzo".

"Get in I will drive you". Sandy walked over getting in, putting her seat belt on.

"What happened you, and Danny have a fight"?

"He is a horrid man, all they think about is sex"

"Yeah Sandy that is pretty much the truth, but don't you"?

    "No Rizzo".

"Well I'm not pure like you, well I guess you heard I might be pregnant"

    "Yeah I'm sorry about that"

"We will be fine, I don't need anyone, and I don't run away from my mistakes".

" Kenickie should help you, it is his baby".

"Lets not talk about Kenickie, or Danny"

    "Sounds great to me"

Rizzo was driving Sandy home, they were pretty quiet. Sandy smiled, "Rizzo did you ever date Danny"?

"Yeah for a short time why"?

"He totally confuses me, he has so many different sides to him"

"Yeah most men do, Danny likes you Sandy"

"I thought he did but how he acted tonight was not very nice"

"Sandy he is a guy they all make their move eventually".

Sandy smiled, "Rizzo you are acting pretty sweet, what is up with that"?

"You tell anyone you will regret it Sandy, I'm having a bad day"

"Well I would like you to have more of them, you have treated me pretty awful recently"

"I treat everyone that way, I'm sorry Sandy"

"I live right down this street, the last house on the left". Rizzo stopped the car, Sandy smiled, 'Thanks for the ride Rizzo, would you like to come in"?

"No I have to get home, I'm pretty tired"

"You sure my Parents are probably in bed already"?

"No I wouldn't want people to see me go into your house my reputation Sandy"

"Ok Rizzo see you at school tomorrow"

"Yeah" Sandy got out, and Rizzo waved, and drove off. Sandy smiled she actually saw a side to Rizzo she liked. She could see herself being friends with her, but she could see Rizzo was someone with a lot of secrets. She walked into her house, and went to bed.

Rizzo drove home, and went into the house, and saw her Mom and Dad in the living room. They were drunk, she was happy they were not awake. She walked upstairs, and went to her room, and shut the door. She walked over to the bed, and sat down touching her stomach.

"I promise you if I'm pregnant, I will be a better person. God I hope I'm not pregnant, I'm not ready to be a Mother. If I am God, I promise I will be the best Mother I can be.". She laid back shutting her eyes, and fell asleep. The next morning she went to the clinic for the results. She went into the Doctor's office, and he smiled, 'Rizzo you are not pregnant".

Rizzo was shocked she really thought she was even part of her was a little disappointed. She smiled, 'Thank you Doctor".

"Rizzo you are young, please be more careful"

"I will Doctor that is a promise". She got up, and walked out of the clinic, and she decided from this point in her life, she was going to change. She was going to start to live her life for her, she didn't need a man in her life to make her happy. She sure hoped Kenickie would be in her future, but if he wasn't she would survive. She got in her car, and went to school, she was going to focus on her education, but she laughed, she wasn't going to give up being a Pink Lady, and she sure wasn't going to give up on her friends, she needed them in her life. She knew she was going to Graduate real soon, but she knew she would never forget what almost happened to her. She would have child in her future she hoped, but for now it wasn't the right time, and she was ok with that. She got to school, Frenchie and Jan ran over to her.

"Rizzo why did you leave the Drive In last night"?

"Oh I had to get out of there, but guess what"?

    "What"?

"I'm not pregnant, it was a false alarm"

    "Oh Rizzo thank God"

"Yeah I wasn't ready, lets go today is our last day". Frenchie smiled, "Yeah now we have something else to celebrate"

"Yeah I guess but I'm a little sad, I was thinking maybe it would have been good for me to have someone else to think about beside myself"

    "What"?

"Oh Frenchie lets go". They all walked into the school, and they all were happy they were about to Graduate, but a little sad their time at school together was going to end. They didn't know what the future held for them, but they did hope they all would be friends forever.

Great Grease one shot. Loved the songs from this show which was good because none of the actors were that memorable for me.
