    Default Pam a Villian

After reading the article about Brenda Strong being cast and it mentioning that Victoria would be open to returning if the script was right it got me thinking.

What if Pam was going to return to Bobby and Dallas at one point but when she did she found that he was with a new partner. It could open it up for her to return as a sort of Alexis character, the scorned woman. She thought that he had made peace that they were over and that he was now happy with a new woman.

This really hurt an already fragile Pam even more so she left thinking they were never ment to be together it was all wrong for them. While away from Bobby she began to feel she hated him and the Ewings (obviously this isnt true, as like Alexis loved Blake, she loves Bobby) but focusing her energy on that made her able to carry on a new life away from Dallas. She has a new identity and life, she is still very rich and has secretly played games with JR and the ewings making them lose money and deals from a far.

But something happens that makes it vital that she returns to Dallas to wreak havoc on the Ewing family. Setting her up as the new Barnes to cause trouble for the Ewings. She wants Bobby back and hates Anne but Bobby will not leave her, After all hes been with Anne longer than he was with Pam.

I think it would be great to see Victoria play a darker Character.
I know that my idea is more than a little sketchy , but i am still watching the dream season, i dont know when Pam leaves or exactly why, i gather from what i have read no one knows why or where. Those blanks would need filled in ofcourse.

    What do people think?

    Mmm, some nice ideas there

I'm not sure - can Pam really be bad? Plus it goes back to the whole thing of she said she was 'dying' in some of those last scenes we saw. The thought of her playing with the Ewings from afar is interesting...Your ideas are good

However, I'm really against Victoria using the new series as a 'vehicle' for herself. She turned her back on Dallas a long time ago, and apparently doesn't 'need' it anymore. I'd take issue with her being centre stage now. Sorry.

Yes i think its sucky that she kind of just abandoned the show and then distanced herself from it, and honestly i dont think she would return in a full time part, maybe make a certain amount of guest appearances per season which probably wouldnt be enough to set her up as the shows main villian. Though i think she could play bad, i loved scenes Pam had with JR when she would get angry i believed her. I just think the new show needs a better villian than one of the young cast, someone older would be more believable, I mean Christopher and John Ross are ment to be in there late twenties or something. One of those could never be equal to JR to me. They need the Barnes -Ewing fued!

I dont know how they would write that Pam was magically cured of whatever illness she was dying of but im sure they could find away, after all it is DALLAS!

Pam coming back as a villain is an interesting idea we've discussed here in other threads. Personally I could go for it, but I get the feeling it wouldn't please everyone. Short of Pam coming back and being happy with Bobby forever and ever I doubt certain fan factions would ever be pleased. They could do that if the show was ending I guess, but otherwise I don't think Victoria was interested in coming back for more than a brief closure.

Pam comming back and just being with Bobby again wouldnt be good enough tv, We would need more drama and conflict. Maybe they could get back together at one point but id love to see her try everything in her power to get Bobby back. While Sue Ellen is happy not being with Jr and Pam making Annes life hell on earth. Those would be interesting stories i think.

I think Victoria could play a villian wonderfully and Pam always had that spark of madness inside of her
But in the original serious, she's considered dead and no one's really managed to think of way out of it yet...

I've said before that Pam could return as a ghost who comes to see how everyone is doing.

I want a very much alive Pam on the show (VP ONLY!).

It is very easy to bring her back - in an not-as-yet-released fan fic story, I do it in a very believable fashion. I can easy be written.

But if they are going to make Pam long for Bobby and be like she was in her final season, NO WAY!

I don't see how it's feasible to bring her back if it's about the Next Generation. Bringing Pam back, needs a whole film in itself. There wouldn't be time to do this with a new show - if Pam were to return there needs to be the time devoted to an explanation as to why she's back. Slotting her into JUST a pilot isn't fair to either the character or to the die hard fans watching. It's also unfair to new fans who would never be able to grasp who she was if they are meeting her for the first time in the context of a pilot. This is about the next generation of Ewings - Pam's story or return can't be just sub-plot after all this time.

Well i wasnt thinking of bringing Pam back for the pilot, i was thinking of bringing her back for the season finale maybe or somewhere near the end of the season if the show gets picked up. Then have her departure and return explained through a few basically Pam devoted episodes maybe a two parter. With flash backs and voice over and lots of drama. Then the following season going back to the Barnes vs the Ewings.
I also dont think her coming back in the pilot would be good, it couldnt be handeled in the propper way. It would need a lot of time and planning to return her to dallas and give her a reason to stay there other than "i love Bobby" that ship has sailed.

Yes, I agree. It would need to be much later on in the series if at all.

Am I the only one that doesnt want Pam to come back?

Dont get me wrong I love the character and I think VP is a good actress, but for me Pam died when VP left the show. I also dont see how VP abandoned the show. She decided not to continue, something every actor has the right to, and gave them enough notice to write her off. As far as VP knew Pam was killed off for real when she filmed her last scene. Its not her fault the writers screwed up big time and decided to make her into a mummy. She shouldnt be forced to return to wrap up a story that for all she knew was properly wrapped up the first time she left.

Anyways to me Pam is dead and I think it should stay that way. It would just insult the character (even more so than it did post S10) to have her being alive all this time. JMO

No you are not the only Dallas fan who doenst want or need Pam to come back. From what i have read lots of fans feel the same way. And i think its totally understandable. It was a bad idea to reintroduce Pam all bandaged up after letting people think that she was dead. But this screwed with fans heads with the is she? or isnt she alive thing going on and on and on for years. Its just to me personally id quite like to see Pam back if there was ever a right way to do it. To explain all that had happened before and make it believable. And i think it could be done if written by someone who understood Dallas and and the characters.
Maybe the reaso that Victoria wasnt so keen on comming back before for reunions or whatever is basically because they screwed her over in the first place. The wrote her out as dead then had her alive again perhaps even going to replace the actress to do so. Thats a slap in the face.

Yes, why would she need to use a long since completed series that jumped the shark many moons before it killed itself...to revive an acting career she voluntarily gave up? In other words, I hope Victoria never has to do what Linda does...cling to Dallas as a lifeboat to re-launch a career in the limelight that ended decades ago.

I agree, BUT many of the viewers will not rest until an official explanation about what finally happened to Pam is given (including me). Even though she said she was dying, it is still an openended white elephant in the room.

If VP refuses to do it, then PLEASE have a scene where Christopher visits her grave or something.

I loved early Pam when she was beautiful, intelligent and fiesty...she was still my favourite character when they made her nothing more than eye candy with morals too...because I could still imagine how old Pam would react. However, with everything I continue to hear about the revamped series....I don't want to watch it anyway...with or without Pam.

LOL, it's the bitch in me. I don't really believe that Linda is clinging to Dallas for a career...I just roll my eyes when people continue to say that Victoria turned her back on Dallas as though it would have been better for her to go down with the ship and continue to participate in events that make a mockery out of Dallas.
