DC continuity is worse than Dynasty's but here goes ....
There was the Golden Age Wonder Woman who was a member of the Justice Society during World War II and married Steve Trevor. They had a daughter who became Fury. All this was on Earth Two.
The Silver Age Wonder Woman was a member of the Justice League. Steve Trevor was killed, brought back to life, and killed again. Another Steve from a parallel world came back later. Wonder Woman lost her powers and continued in plain clothes until feminist Gloria Steinem balked and DC brought back Wonder Woman in costume.
In the Crisis on Infinite Earths, everything was collapsed into one earth. Wonder Woman I and Steve ascended to Mount Olympus, and Wonder Woman II was de-evolved back into clay to set things up for the new version.
Wonder Woman was re-introduced and became more powerful as her hair got bigger and her outfit smaller. In the new version, her mother traveled back in time to become Wonder Woman of the Justice Society. But I think that has retconned as well.
But that's as brief as I can get it.
Jason that is amazing You know so much. I loved the Crisis series. I also had a Wonder Woman Doll, she was brillient in her Pentagon outfit and sunglasses. She also had this amazing dolls hair that didnt go wiry, much better than the Charlies Angels dolls.
Thanks. I just miss Earth Two. It had a better flavor to it. The heroes ages, got married, had children, then the children became heroes, and the heroes would die. It was more realistic. It was life. I loved All-Star Squadron and Infinity, Inc. It was great reading.
I had the Super Powers figures from the 80s (along with my Masters of the Universe). I wish I still had those. I loved those -- except for Brainiac. I wanted Brainiac with the green skin. Did anyone else have these?
I don't mind the look of the costume--although they could tone down the blue of the pants a bit. I love Adrianne Palicki. I thought she was fantastic in Friday Night Lights.

Are you talking about the action figures that you squeezed their legs or their arms and they kicked or punched? I had a bunch of those and the Hall of Justice play set. For some reason I loved that they had removable capes. I thought that was cool.
Yeah those are the ones. I had all of those except Cyborg and Samurai. (I didn't even know they made those two.) I remember Green Lantern came with a glow in the dark ring that you could wear.
If I remember correctly with the Wonder Woman figure, you squeezed her legs and her arms crossed in front of her face like she was deflecting bullets with her bracelets.
Much better. The colours aren't so garish, and it's nice to see the return of the red boots. Just these subtle differences say Wonder Woman to me.
I'm still not a fan of the leggings, but then I guess when the Lynda Carter show aired, there were many comic fans who weren't happy about this costume:
