    Angry Daylight Saving Time

Hate it hate it hate it!!!!

Ya know, I really don't have much of a preference between winter time and summer time. Waking up in the dark, or driving home from work in the dark, they're both hard, so I really don't care too much WHICH time we stick with. Either way, the days get shorter in the winter, so I don't see much difference between the two.

But do we really need to F**K with the clocks twice per year? I had to keep cranky children up late on purpose on Saturday so they wouldn't be waking up at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. And then for little kids, they get accustomed to going to bed in the dark in the cooler months, then can't go to sleep when the clocks change and it's too bright outside--I had to buy blackout curtains in April this year. And now, it's been so light for so long, even with the curtains, that the boys won't go to bed now in the pitch black because it's too dark

Having an "extra" hour of sleep does NOT make up for having to mess around with sleep patterns for 2 weeks. And what is the PURPOSE of Daylight Saving Time now, anyway? To reduce the number of light bulbs we use? So, what? Just buy the groovy new compact fluerescent ones instead.

HATE! Daylight Saving Time. Just pick one, people and stick with it!

There's a lot of evidence to suggest the supposed energy benefits of DST don't really exist. People just like the extra daylight to grill and **** in the summer, I guess. Personally, I think it's lame.

Me, either. An hour here or there is nothing to me anymore. In fact, the time change serves as a reminder that it's time for me to change the batteries in my smoke detectors, so it's kind of a plus.

Would you like to get awakened an hour early every day while your kids adjust to the time change?

I have the same problem with mine every year....5.30am..."I'm awake now mummy!"

When I was a kid, i hated the idea of going to bed while it was still light outside...i felt like i was being duped.

I don't have kids so I don't know how you feel? I guess it would get them mixed up, I feel bad for the parents dealing with that. I have to say it doesn't bother me much. I like gaining 1 hour sleep, but hate losing 1 hour. .

I understand all of you with little ones..time changes are tough! However, I love this one...I get an extra hour plus I hate going to work in the dark! So I will take it in the Fall..the Spring is a different story.

how about instead of taking the positive of getting up late with the negative of getting up early, you just get up at the same time every single day and not worry about it?

I'm the same way; I love getting that extra hour to myself in the fall, but I hate losing it in the spring.

Usually my best friend! Last year it was me and I missed my train home I don't mind gaining an hour sleep *who would?* but it's such a caffuffle for nothing since it all changes back in the spring! Why not leave it alone?

The government were in talks about leaving the clocks as they were. I don't know what or if they decided though.

No, but then I chose not to have kids. That probably sounds snotty, but I don't mean it that way. Maybe you can have them go to bed 10 minutes early/late for a couple of days, then 20 minutes for a couple of days, etc until they adjust?

My parents did that with us, and also when school was about to begin as we had been neglecting our normal bedtime all summer.

    okay you could do that

or you could just get rid of the entire useless system that has no tangible benefits other than "hey cool, it's light out at 8 pm!" and "i get an extra hour of sleep one day each year".

One of my co-workers is always late, he was early yesterday. He forgot to change his alarm clock saturday. We cracked up seeing him walk in at 7:25. He starts at 8 so if we didn't have the time change, he would have been late. He lucked out, he was 35 minutes early.

while i don't have kids myself, i think i heard someone say many times, not here though that is SUPPOSE to be easier on the kids, having to wait in the dark for the school bus? well that reasoning NEVER was believable cause if THEY were soo damn worried about that, than why change it in either October or November? why not in August or September? so in short it's plain stupid. I bloody well HATE the change of time as well.

my niece was over saturday nite. & my mom had an extra hour to try & have her go back to sleep. though she loves the little one dearly, she wasn't thrilled that she had to hear my niece bounce off the walls in the middle of the nite. when she woke

up. i also agree that they should just pick a damn time & KEEP IT! i'd like to know who the hell started doing this, cuz they need an ass whoopin. oh i'm sure it won't be me. it isn't a threat or anything. but someone should do it.
