Prayer Request
My nephew Ezekiel, is in the hospital. His throat is closed up so that he can barely breathe, and cannot eat or talk at all. The poor child is only 8
. The doctors don't know what is wrong. It's definitely not an obstruction, swine flu, or an allergic reaction. Please pray for the little guy. We're all so worried.

I sincerely hope they find the reason for it very soon, and he makes a full recovery.
Poor boy. x

No further news, other than they're doing a barium test. How's he supposed to swallow the stuff? The poor child broke down and cried because he was so scared and hungry yesterday. And that's saying something because he's tough as nails. He grew up in a somewhat rough home then my brother took him in as a foster child, and now he's an adopted member of our family. My child Everett, who is the same age as Ezekiel, is sort of the opposite--tending to shyness and sensitivity. One day last summer, when the two boys were at a party and met some stranger kids, they started playing together and the other kids got a little rough (not cruel, but a little too rambunctious for Everett's taste). Everett started to get a bit upset, and Ezekiel stepped in and told the other kids to lay off. That was really amazing to me to see this kid who'd not had a lot of breaks growing up, stepping up and standing up for someone else. Such a wonderful child.
Sorry for the emotional moment--I'm just really upset for the little guy. I'll let you know when I have real news

Hang in there sister!! I know it's tough when it's a little one and they are in pain. I know that sometimes little ones just get very sick for no reason and than snap out of it!! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I know everything is going to turn out okay.

I hope he doesn't have mono. That's a nasty virus. Did they rule it out? I had it when I was 19 and my immune system hasn't been able to fight anything off since.

Angels
The angels are with him, so don't fear. God is with him. He will be fine.
Love his name, sounds like an angel name.

damn damn damn. No bigger tragedy to me then a child suffering... Especially this child probably looking for people to make him better but not getting any answers...
Of course darlin, All the biggest well wishes for Ezekiel...And I hope against hope he is better this second..
I am literally welling up as I type this... And no reason to even post anything else tonight even as "hot topic" a night as it is.... Please keep us posted.

Thank you all so much. Ezekiel had a barium test yesterday, but he had such trouble swallowing, he wound up breathing it in, and it collapsed his lung. He is in the Intensive Care Unit, sedated.
The upside it looks like the barium test might give us some answers....Please keep the prayers rolling, we need them.

Ezekiel's lung is functioning again, thank God. The doctors think the throat thing may have been caused by myasthenia gravis, which I understand is a chemical imbalance, but easily treatable. We'll see, but things are looking up.

that poor little guy
Keep us posted - I'll say a prayer tonight they figure it all out, treat him, and he can resume normal life. So hard for an adult, let alone an 8 year old. Sounds like he is trying to be very brave. Hang in there.

thanks. He's a tough little guy...I know that once they have a diagnosis and treatment rolling, he will be okay, but the terrible stress of not knowing, and just plain being hungry and scared was horrible. It's great knowing that all of you are so supportive and wonderful.
