Sorry for the late update, I didn't have the Internet for the past 5 days.
Chapter 4
“He can’t do that. Robert please tell me he can’t.” Dusty pleaded.
“I’m sorry Dusty but he can.”
“But we could win that right.” Clayton asked with total certainty.
“Look I don’t want to lie to you all. Hell you’re practically family Clayton. Sue Ellen, JR has the upper hand in this one.”
“Even with the….”
“Even with the phone call. We can use it and attempt to show how horrible, devious he is. But he can twist it. He could say that he loves you and wanted to get you back, that he didn’t want you to be hurt.”
“Which no doubt he would.” Dusty bitterly concluded.
Robert and Sue Ellen nodded simultaneously.
“Now we do have a lot of disparaging evidence against Mr Ewing. Unfortunately he has he has a lot against you Sue Ellen. The case could almost be decided by the flip of a coin……….Look I’m going to go and make up notes from this, perhaps some sort of plan. Ultimately it is up to Sue Ellen, she has to make the decision.”
***At Ewing Oil***
Bobby arrived at Ewing Oil at the normal time. Although he was ashamed of it, he was quite glad that he didn’t run into JR at breakfast.
“Good morning ladies. Is JR in?”
“Yes he’s in his office.”
Bobby offloaded all his paperwork in his office before confronting JR-something he had waited too long to do.
“Are you serious? Cheating on Sue Ellen was bad enough but did you really have to do it with her sister? I mean JR that’s just sick-really sick. No wonder she slept with Cliff.”
“You take that back Bobby!” JR snapped. But Bobby remained focused, unaffected by JR’s violent persona.
“No I wont. You know JR we all knew what was going on, you weren’t exactly discreet.”
“Yeah well what I do with my free time is up to me. My bed is my province.”
“No it’s not. I can’t believe I have to explain marriage to my big brother.”
“Then don’t.”
“But I have to. A married couple share everything, including a bed. It’s not yours singular, its yours plural JR. Everything you did involved her.”
“No it didn’t.”
“Yes it did. Don’t make me go into Waco JR.”
“Oh God please don’t, it was years ago!”
“And what about John Ross? He needs his mother.”
“I know that. I called Sue Ellen this morning and told her she could come back.”
“You did what?”
“I told her I’d drop it all if she came back.”
Bobby was stunned, “You have no idea what you’re making her go through have you?”
“Yes I do. I'm giving her a nice escape route back to the Ewing money and name!”
“What. So she can come back, leave Dusty who actually loves her JR, to an abusive volatile marriage."
"She'd have her son." JR reasoned but Bobby ignored him.
"Or stay, where she is loved, without her son. JR you are a bastard.”

Chapter 5
***At the Southern Cross***
“Sue Ellen we can win.” Dusty begged, “Don’t go back.”
Sue Ellen’s eyes were filled with tears as she folded was folding her clothes and placing them neatly into her suitcase.
“No I can’t. I have to go back. I can’t leave my son. I can’t…” Sue Ellen began to sob as Dusty held her.
“I know. Now you listen here. I love you, I always will and I will wait for you. You will win custody of John Ross and when you do you come back here.”
Sue Ellen couldn’t help but smile. Dusty could always make her feel happy, content and give her hope. She had everything she needed now. She knew that out there somewhere she was loved and wanted. Sue Ellen stood up and began to take Dusty’s engagement ring off but he placed his hand over hers.
“Keep it. Remember me.”
“I will. Goodbye.” They kissed as they have never kissed before, she savoured every moment, as did he, and allowed her lips to linger on his.
“Let me come with you.” He pleaded again.
“No Dusty. I have to be alone.” She stroked his cheek with her index finger before she turned and went through the door. It was while she was being driven to the Airport that she fully realised what she was doing and she was overcome with pain and anger. It was official. JR had ruined her life. She’d lost again. But Dusty’s words remained in her heart and brought her some comfort.
She Airport was very crowded with businessmen returning to their wives for Sunday. As Sue Ellen checked in she thought of everything she would have to do on Sunday. Get up early and feed little John, get him ready for church. Perhaps she could go riding before all that, she pondered. Suddenly a terrible feeling hit her, she was weakened by it. Was she doing to have to share a bed with JR? A public façade she was willing to portray but not a private one. Worst of all she didn’t have a say in any of it, she was just a “Ewing possession” now.
Sue Ellen entered the plane and made her way down the isle to her seat. She walked slowly, cautiously in a daze. One of the air hostesses greeted her, they were clearly concerned of her frail appearance,
“Mrs Ewing, are you okay?”
Sue Ellen responded as though she was in a trance “Yes. I’m just fine.” And sat in her seat. Not long after a Texan Architect sat next to her and began conversation,
“Hi, I’m Dave. Supposed to be pretty rough up there. You know this is the last plane they’re lettin’ leave.”
The first half of the flight was perfectly normal. Sue Ellen began to talk to Dave,”That’s lovely. Do you know if it’s a boy or a girl?”
“Naw. We want it to be a surprise. Oh I’m so excited about it.”
“You should be. Your child will quickly become the centre of your life.”
“Do you have kids?”
“Just the one. John Ross. I’m on my way home to see him now.”
“I don’t want to be rude but why just the one?”
“My husband and I are not very……close. I wanted more, I still do but…” The plane suddenly shook violently as the lightening hit it. She looked at Dave as he grabbed her hand.
“Did I tell you I hate flying?” He said.
Sue Ellen smiled, “No. I don’t think I do now either.” She joked. However their laughter was broken by the pilot.
“This is your pilot speaking. I would like to apologise for the severe turbulence we have encountered on this flight. We will be arriving in Dallas in approximately 10 minutes.” Sue Ellen and Dave smiled. Sue Ellen’s smile was one of fear and dread. Her nerves were beginning to kick back in again as she thought about living at Southfork with JR. It wasn’t fair.
Suddenly the plane shook so violently that the oxygen masks fell. A silent panic ensued. Again and again the plane was hit by lightening as thunder and the words “Brace, brace, brace” repeated by the stewards sliced through the silence. The lights flickered, all four engines cut out and the plane dropped from the sky as the pilots fought to land it on an empty field outside Dallas. Tears blocked Sue Ellen’s eyes as the plane collided with the ground.

Chapter 6
Dusty was watching television in a desperate attempt to take his mind off Sue Ellen. Suddenly his programme was interrupted with a newsflash.
“We have just received information that an American Airways plane has crashed just outside Dallas, the plane’s believed destination. Although we have not as yet been formally informed it is suspected that this crash does indeed have many fatalities.”
Dusty froze. No it couldn’t be her plane. All the planes were either delayed or cancelled. He lifted the phone and dialled, “Yes could you please tell me the status of flight AA135 please.”
The woman paused, “I’m afraid we have no information on that flight….” She searched the computer information, “Sir it appears that flight left on time.”
“It wasn’t cancelled?”, Dusty was shocked, he had thought that her plane had been delayed due to the weather conditions.
“No the airliner must have changed their mind.”
“OK thank you.” He said putting the phone down before turning back to the TV.
“It couldn’t be her.”
***At Southfork***
Bobby walked into the living room to find Lucy, Pam, Jock and Miss Ellie gathered around the television. He put his briefcase down next to the table.
“What’s up?” He asked but they silenced him. It didn’t take long for him to work out what had happened as the screen changed and showed a plane broken into three pieces and on fire. Jock grabbed the remote and turned the volume up,
“I has been confirmed that there are no known survivors. Experts expect that the plane got into trouble as it passed through a severe electrical storm which caused mechanical failures. As yet the flight has not been given to us but will be soon once family members of those on board are informed. Back to you Tess.”
“Well we will keep you all up to date with that story as the information filters to us.”
***At the Southern Cross***
“Dad. Come here.” By this point the plane was no longer on fire and emergency services where searching for bodies. As Clayton walked in an update flashed across the bottom of the screen.
“The plane involved in a fatal crash just outside Dallas has been confirmed as the 20:27pm AA135 flight from San Angelo to Dallas Fortworth.”
Dusty was filled with rage and sorrow, he knew he'd be receiving a phone call soon.

Chapter 7
Ten minutes later the phone rang. As he lifted it his hand shook with pain. Clayton took the phone from him and answered,
"Hello......No this is Clayton Farlow his father..........I'll take the news." He said trying to keep his feelings neutral. He knew that if Dusty saw how upset he was he would totally breakdown, Dusty needed a rock.
"Well we haven't found Mrs Ewing's body but...." He tried to sound as tasteful and respectful and possible, "we haven't found any survivors so Mrs Ewing has been declared dead."
Clayton inhaled and let out a sigh, rubbing his face at the same time. "Well. Thank you for calling. I can appreciate it's not very easy to ...........to...do what what you do."
Dusty turned his head up but but knew instinctively what the answer was, Clayton simply shook his head.
***At Southfork***
The Ewings remained seated around the television, JR was still at Ewing Oil. "We have received new intelligence in the last few moments. Investigators have concluded that all 186 passengers on the AA135 Flight from San Angelo to Dallas Fortworth have lost their lives." The news reporter was obviously chocking up at this point. As her voice wobbled and body shook she looked at the male reporter next to her.
"That his correct," he began, "All of the passengers have died and their families have been informed." A look of shock appeared over his face as he read the prompts. "I will not read the names of those 135 passengers on board.
Ms. Clare Adams, Mr. Tony Bechstein..........My good friend Mr. Dave Everton, Mrs. Sue Ellen Ewing wife of the Texas Oilman John Ross Ewing II....." He continued to read the names as the Ewings froze.
The phone in the hall began to ring, they didn't hear it at first until Teressa called Miss Ellie, "It's for you. He says it's important." Thinking it was JR Miss Ellie jumped up and virtually ran to the phone, "Hello."
A man on the other end replied, it was Dusty. He kept himself together for as long as he could, keeping his voice cold.
"Hello Miss Ellie. Dusty Farlow here is JR there?"
"No he's not." She said through sniffles.
"Well perhaps you could tell your son when he gets in that he killed his wife." He said bitterly before smashing the phone on the table.
Miss Ellie lost all feeling and let the phone drop to the floor. Jock intuitively went to his wife's aid along with Bobby.
"What is it?" Jock pressed, "What is it?!" Miss Ellie remained numb and silent. Bobby put his arm around her shoulder, lead her to the kitchen and sat her down.
"Mama. Would you like to tell me what happened?" Miss Ellie heard his kind voice and looked at him.
"Why couldn't JR be like you?" She said so softly it was barely audible. A puzzled look flashed across Bobby's face.
"Dusty Farlow called," Bobby's eyes widened, "He told me to tell JR that he had killed his wife."
***At the Southern Cross***
After phoning the Ewings Dusty had gone riding. He made his was back to the house at 4am and paced in their bedroom. It was really only ever his but it was going to be her's too and that made everything worse. A wave of fury passed through him and he began kicking the bed, hitting the wall, punching everything in sight. He picked up the bin in the en suite and threw it, something caught his attention as it fell out.
