Doc Rossi's Nurse looks a bit like a Starfleet agent on a time mission to stop Constance
MacKenzie ( Starring Dorothy Malowwnne) being the unwitting catalyst to world war three. Constance meets James t Kirk who has become lost in time and he must be stopped from altering the course of history by saving Constance from a friendly old lady who will one day tragically bore her to death while buying " the new Agatha Christie novel". Constance must be bored!! If James saves her from the boredom it will rupture the very fabric of time and space itself......

    Help .

Ok, I had to turn off the brilliance yesterday and for the first time in weeks my tv was a PP free zone... the horror.

But here's the thing, I really dont like violence towards women i find it hard to take for prolonged periods of time on tv .... unless its women being violent to each other in a crap prison drama way like PRISONER CELL BLOCK H .... or sci fi is acceptable when two cyclon women beat the crap out of each other thats fine.... I'm finding the Rachel story really hard going. Its this endlessly gloomy darkness... PLEASE NO SPOILERS NO SPOILERS ..but, is it ever going to be resolved what could or could not have happened to Alison? I mean , for 5 episodes non stop Rachel has been stalked and threatened by Chandler and now its looking like he murdered or raped Alison and I just cant really take much more of this , it doesn't seem to have any end point and I feel like im in a well of violence toward women implied or implicit .... Add to that is Lee Webbers continual threats toward Sandy ( which is quite gripping its a different tone i know) but suddenly yesterday I just turned it off ... Leigh Taylor Young is brilliant in the role of Rachel but i need to know if this thing is going to be going on for ever so I can steel myself and adjust my mindset . Does the Alison/Chandler story get resolved or am I going to be thinking really dark things forever....

    Does that make any sense?

It does get resolved ... kind of ... eventually ... sort of. Not really. I know we learn something much later on that explains what happened. But I can't actually remember what it was. In the grand scheme of things, you're none the wiser.

Ok, so is there is much more of Rachel being tortured by Chandler cos I cant sit through much more of that?

Its such a dark show isnt it, you kinda dont realise how dark it is because its so exciting.... do you understand why Im a bit worn out by it ?

I don't know exactly where you are, but there is a fair bit of Chandler/Rachel torment. He's very convincingly twisted. I can see your point--the show feels a bit shapeless during this period, i think, compared with how tightly knotted everything was before. But it'll all come good - in its own dark way of course.

The daytime soap Return To Peyton Place continued all the storylines from the original series (which ended on a cliffhanger). They also brought back Allison and gave an explanation for what happened to her. Of course only five episodes are known to exist so it's hard to say how it all turned out. The show did share some of the same sets, like the Peyton mansion. Murder In Peyton Place and The Next Generation also tell what happened to Allison, but different ways. Murder is just a dreadful film so it's no surprise it was disregarded when it came to The Next Generation.

So to answer your question, there are three explanations for what happened to Allison and since u have the two movies you'll see two of them. The actual series left it in a good place I think, by the time the Chandler story ran it's course.

And so it ends. My journey that began in January has come to an abrupt but satisfying end. Peyton Place is no more on my television I was even brave and watched both TV movies as well.

God, Murder in Peyton Place really was awful. The Next Generation was slightly better as it included Barbara Parkins of course. She was smart to not return for the crap that was Murder in Peyton Place. I'm still shuddering.

    Wooo !!! Woooo !!!

Well done Afton ! You must be feeling satisfied and bereft all at the same time . It's sad when a tv show ends like this isn't it , it's completely taken over our schedules hasn't it , what a brilliant experience , I love it when we all do shows together , its the best way to do these shows .

Without giving too much away , did you enjoy the last lap of the series ?

Congratulations, Afton, you're the winner! Do you have the original movies in your set? They're worth a look if you haven't seen them already.

Peyton Place was one of, if not the best, shows I've watched, hands down. Even though the last hundred episodes or so were kinds hit and miss, it still beats anything on TV today by a mile. What an intoxicating, tangled web of a show! Just brillant!

I'll admit, the last lap of the show had a definite shift. It's a little off-putting at first but once you get sucked back in again, it's really enjoyable, though not like before. But, even at it's worst (which really isn't that bad) it's still a marvel. You'll soon see!

Oh, I watched those before I began the series. Loved the first but the second was kinda "meh" for me. Though Mary Astor as Roberta Carter was just sensational! She was the real star.

    Excitingness !!!!!

Martin Peyton and Betty Anderson !!! What a convoluted intricate web of intrigue . I held my breath for the whole episode where Betty steals the will from his safe.

Elliots in the clink ! How brilliantly brave of this show to keep the theme of law and order and the consequences of moments of passion firmly in it's cyclical core .

Awww poor Norman , he can't have sex with Rita for possibly years and years , she can't bear his child but seems to be prepared to die just to give him a child , it's all very THE ONEDIN LINE . Rita wants to be Laura Sumner , she's desperate to be killed off .

James I'm in the 330s when can I read another review ?

    Lawdy long time ....

Has there ever been such a delicious tv game of chess between two characters in a soap than Martin Peyton and Betty Anderson ?!

Love it when Leslie Harribgton gets his slice of the action , he's a brilliant character used surprisingly sparringly since his mini break , his voice sounds like one of the wacky races cartoons or a Penelope Pitstop baddie , such a brilliant actor in the Devane mould , actually he's a lot less sentimental than Devane , he really plays it tough down the line . Is it just me or did anyone else find the Julie Anderson exit very abrupt and odd , they introduce a storyline for her and Leslie a potentially delicious set up that would provide masses of drama : their marraige . Then it's abandoned without even a scene between them .

350 and the producers are quick to change (starring) Dorothy Malowwne's opening credit shot to match her new look hair but then her new look hair isn't in the episode so they hastily go back to the old edit . Patience please producers , we're all as excited about Dorothy's new hair but let's wait until Constance and (starring) Dorothy Malone both have the SAME hair .

    Thank you .

    Ok.

The Rachel Wells story, her part in it , is thankfully over and she's been carted off to the mental asylum like another doomed redhead in soap lore the glorious Sue Osman in EASTENDERS .

So far this is the shows least successful storyline for many reasons but primarily because it's all been , unusually, one note and that note was hysteria frustration . What has been interesting about it is the inravelling of Constance Carson (" what do you think we're made of ?!" she shouts at Norman Harrington as he tries to suggest That dying Rita take Rachels babysitting job ) love it when Constance unravels it's fascinating and Dorothy Malone is a good actress when given the right beats to play , harder moments.
The show knows it hadn't been a good story and I burst out laughing atthe painful explanatory scene where Mike Rossi , Steven and Elliot reveal the big story to theviewer and themselves . After a hastily delivered explanation as to whatthe hell was going on( she was bonkers all along ) Steven brilluantly and amusingly snaps " Is there anything else I needto know?!" , "no !" shouts Rossi , " good" barks Steven and just walks out leaving Rossi to ask Elliot if he can carry on with thus storyline ," I'm sorry I just CANT " he replies and it's all over for the little girl who never was.

Looks like there's more to come with Chandler and Leslie Harrington , anything with Leslie is thrilling it doesn't matter what they give him he is simply the best Male actor on the show .

And so a new era ..... A mysterious glamorous blonde arrives at the Peyton House all knowing smiles and it's something to do with Steven . Can hardly wait .

Except I will wait a bit , gonna do some Dallas then I'll be right back on it

Very close to me Sunny. I just completed the Adrianne Van Leydon story which is absolutely fantastic. I kinda agree with your comments about Rachel Welles. Her story was interesting due to how it affected everyone around her (particularly Connie and kicking off a big Rita story). I found Rachel very annoying in the beginning, slightly lovable and fragile, but grating at times. Interestingly enough, Leigh Taylor Young was meant to be a permanent character, but she decided she wanted to be a stay at home mom. I believe it was Ryan O'Neal's baby too. I kinda hate she was written off, she was the last big hope for the Carson family.

Since you haven't seen Adrienne's storyline I can't comment, but it is just amazing. Goes on and on and is just fabulous. Very simple, but devious and delicious and very soapy. I loved every moment of it. Betty, Steven, Martin, Adrienne, Rodney (finally with something interesting to do!) and Lee Webber just act the hell out of it. Your favorite Harrington, Leslie, is a major part of this story as well.

Martin and Anrozani De Van De Vereenberger or whatever she's called are engaged in a duplicitous charade designed to drive Steven Cord wild with emotion .

Indeed. Isn't he just totally wrong? I was never so glad to see the real Martin Peyton when he returned!

You're on some great stuff now, Sunny! You're moving so quickly. Seems like only yesterday we were hiding the outcome of Elliot's storyline from you haha.

I know. Haha I was such a PP child !!

Hyde White could have at least made a bit of an effort
to be a devious cantankerous rude yet strangely wise old brute of a snob. I mean come on ! At least gave a go !!! They could have just used a cardboard cutout ? It's quite funny though but the joke wears thin during such a crucial twisting story .

Hurry up and cone back Martin Peyton Martin Peyton

Has he returned yet or are you still stuck with the shell? Ugh, what a time to pull something like that. The story was really getting good.

Doesn't he remind you a little of Burgess Meridith but not nearly as brilliant?
