    Default Inspiration for character's names

Anyone ever notice character's names in the credits?

There was once a congressman from Louisiana named Harry McSween.

Oh yes. I mean, they clearly didn't just pull Farlow, Denault, or Culver out of nowhere, did they? And April Stevens was a singer in the early '60s.

Here are some examples of this:

    - Jock (like the dog from Lady and the Tramp)
    - Miss Ellie (like the film "Misery" when released in Japan)
    - Bobby (like the English guards)
    - Donna ("...é mobile)
    - Lucy ("...in the Sky with Diamonds")
    - Valene (like the vaseline)

    Sorry, couldnīt help it.

Now seriously, I guess the perfect and classic example is Camille Marchetta, whose last name went to Jennaīs husband and "Camille" is the movie Sue Ellen and Clint Ogden watch on Season 3 (CMīs last, I think).

Surprise there was no character named after Katzman, Capice or Filerman on Dallas. Katzmanīs son is named Mitch, and the Farlows were named after people from production too, and after little Eric Farlow too, of course (Christopher).

One of Scarlettīs sisters in the classic "Gone From The Wind" is called "Suellen", and Katherine was Scarlettīs second name ("Kathy") in the same movie. Add to this that Morgan Brittany played actress Vivien Leigh in 3 movies!! What an explosive cocktail!

Casey Denaultīs name was indeed an homage to producer Denault. There is a character in Almodóvarīs movie "Kika" called "Nicholas Pearce" (not Pierce) played by Peter Coyote (which probably was coincidental). Then we can find Lee Ann de la Vega, whose single name was "Nelson" (this WAS a wink at Larry Hagmanīs character on IDOJ).

Bobbyīs company from Season 10 was named "PGD" (Patrickīs initials for his complete name) and Dustyīs wife Linda was named after Linda Gray (see miss Curranīs book for further info). All of you must already know that her daughter Kehly played Sue Ellenīs namesake secretary Kelly on Season 11.

Just for laughs, does anyone remember when someone at Ewing Oil mentioned the name of "Mr. Carrington"? There is also a story told by David Jacobs about naming two characters after his sons...Maybe somebody knuts enough can give more info...

I forgot that dear! Maybe the name was the only thing they gave a thought about this character...
