I like the 1st one two

The second and last one are pretty well-known pictures of her. What's your favorite of her movies? Mine just has to be SOME LIKE IT HOT, where she makes a hilarious trio with Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon.

Those are beautiful pictures of her!
I love THE MISFITS, all sacredly doomed-riddled in its early-'60s way.
By I also enjoy NIAGRA and SOME LIKE IT HOT. Naturally, ALL ABOUT EVE is great, but I don't tend to think of it as being "a Marilyn Monroe movie".
I love THE MISFITS too, it's dreamy and doom-laden in equal measure, as you say Marky. I always found this image of Monroe absolutely fascinating, one of the collection from The Last Sitting session with photographer Bert Stern, for Vogue Magazine in 1962. Of the 2,571 pictures taken, Monroe - at an ill time in her life, and drinking heavily - edited the pictures she did not approve of by marking the negatives with heavy red marks. This one became known as "The Crucifix" for two reasons: the unintentional positioning of the red cross in relation to her body pose, and, hauntingly, because on the day that Vogue published the pictures (of which none of the nudes were used), Monroe was found dead.

I love marylin Monroe

I think Niagra was one of her best, because it showed another side of Marilyn.
I think some of the funniest films were Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and also Some Like it Hot.![]()

That first picture was great ... nice posting

GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES is an absolute riot, and so is HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE, which I think has a very light-hearted feel to it. Gossipmongers at the time expected trouble on the set between the three leads, but Marilyn got along famously with Lauren Bacall and Betty Grable. It could easily do without the fastidious musical opening, though.
There's a real melancholy about THE MISFITS, it's a beautiful movie and I can't help feeling sad that it was the last completed for both Marilyn and Clark Gable. Thankfully, Thelma Ritter provides a few welcome laughs just like she did in ALL ABOUT EVE, which belongs more to Bette Davis than to anyone else, even though Marilyn's character was quite memorable.
NIAGARA is interesting in that it's the only film of hers that explores Marilyn's dangerous side, which famous film critic Pauline Kael pointed out when she reviewed the movie.
And of course, I have to mention MONKEY BUSINESS, in which Marilyn efficiently plays second fiddle to the great Cary Grant.

And yet more misfitted Marilyn:

Marylin is beautiful, and I love looking at her pictures, but I have to say that her best career move was dying when she did, otherwise pop culture would have long since forgotten a drunken starlette that was ruining her own career with addiction.
