In no particular order, just ones that come to mind.....

Pat Boone bastardizing real rock songs by the likes of Little Richard and others in the '50s, and somehow outselling the original artists

The '90s boy bands: Backstreet Boys, NSync, etc.

New Kids on the Block -- the original boy band?

Billy Ray Cyrus.... the ultimate one-hit wonder with "Achy Breaky Heart." But wow, is he cashing in on his daughter now!

The Ba-Ha Men of "Who Let the Dogs Out" fame..... a previous poster named them and reminded me of the atrocity that was the Ba-Ha men, and that horrific "Dogs" song.

Probably more on the way.

It was some group called Los Del Rio. A pretty bad song unless you sing it at a race track with 60,000 other people slightly under the influence... then it's kinda fun

I'm proud to say that I never, not in 1996 nor any time afterwards, ever danced the Macarena at any time. Had the chance a couple of times but sat it out. And I don't regret it.

And someone else mentioned Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton. Agreed. In fact about 6 months ago I was at a karaoke bar and flipping through the binder of songs that the karaoke company offered. I found the selection of songs to sing somewhat bizarre and very limited, compared to other karaoke companies. Example: there were four songs by Lindsey Lohan. How many Led Zeppelin songs were offered? Zero.

Yes, zero. Still shaking my head over that one.
