Hey Knots Man! That's cool that you got to spend some quality time with your dad.

I love both of those Coldplay songs that you mentioned and I'd add "Fix You" to my list of favorite CP songs.

That was brilliant. I love the toy houses. Thanks Knots Man!

The intro to the Party Groove version basically starts about 30 seconds into the 8:20 version of the Remixxer album. It's like they lopped off the first 30 or so seconds.
I hope everyone is having a fantastic Saturday so far.
Great to see you Knots and that you're still alive & kicking...(I feel a song coming on...) You have been missed
You're such a jet-setter.
Love the video, those houses are absolutely genius.
I'm equally pleased to read you're enjoying Maroon 5 AND Coldplay. Wifey took Teen Ome to see them in Manchester last month and she says it's the best concert she's ever been to.
Enjoy your gig this evening and I might still catch you before I leave which is Tuesday around noon.
Mel--With the Dallas season finale coming up this Wednesday, I was wondering how you were faring in the battle to avoid spoilers about the series? It seems like people are still putting plot points in their thread titles here. I get irritated on your behalf that people aren't able to figure out how to create a thread title that isn't a spoiler.
I can't access iTunes store and it's driving me mad. I am trying to buy that track for my iPod!
What a pain. I spent nearly 90 minutes on the phone to tech support at Apple this morning, as I had an iTunes problem too. Computers are wonderful things.... when they do what they're told to do.

So on Wednesday this week, I took my dad away to the Caravan and we both just returned this morning as I'm gigging tonight. I had planned on telling you all this on Tuesday however I was kept extremely busy on Tuesday and was out on Tuesday night so never had a chance to explain before now. Sorry though to Ome and Mel for scaring the bejesus out the pair of you.
It's lovely to see you back KM. I knew there would be an explanation for you "just disappearing". I was worried you'd return with a severe haircut. Either that or that you'd gone down Shula way.
What a lovely thing to do - I'm sure your Dad appreciated your quality time together.
Break a leg tonight. I'm sure you'll enjoy getting back into the swing (perhaps literally...)

I had hoped to write a fun script while I was away however it's been a turbulent few days to say the least which has prevented me from doing this. Oh - that brought a tear to my eye, and a smile to my face. It's a joy to see our names up there - all part of this wonderful ensemble/family.
I really appreciate all the work - not to mention tons of creativity - that you put into this. It's a real labour of love. I love, love, love it!!!
So going on where I'm billed, I guess I'm the Tonya Crowe of FKL. So I need to run away from home, listen in on phone calls and ask my mother to give me the keys.

A club mix of 9 to 5? Fantastic. I swear there is no song that hasn't had this treatment. And it always seems to work.
Thanks for the info about the Party Groove version.

A very good question!!
It's annoying. Ever so annoying, in fact.
Going from the titles, I know a fair bit about the plot developments. Some of the stuff seems fairly major too, but it's hard to say out of context. I'm resigned to the fact that there will be thoughtless posters who either don't consider or don't care that there are overseas viewers who haven't seen the show yet. And it's slightly ironic when you consider that Dallas' strongest fan base is probably in European countries where the new series hasn't aired yet. I'm sure there are more opaque ways to word thread titles, but there you go. Far be it from me to try to censor a third of the titles in the TNT forum.
So I'm working on my acceptance that it's going to happen, and I'm trying to reframe them in my mind as teasers (very major teasers!!) which will tantalise me and help my anticipation.
I'm also resigned to the fact that within the next week, the cliffhanger will be blown in a thread title somewhere on this forum. I know I'm going to be annoyed, but hopefully slightly less annoyed than if I was full of hope that I would make it through to the UK airing of the finale without a spoiler (I think that sentence makes sense... ).
I haven't noticed any threads which ask people to stop doing this (apart from one thread when the series started), so I'm guessing it's deemed acceptable. So I'm going to live with it.
But it really helps to know that you're thinking of me, and equally irritated by it.
Ok - I'm still watching Knots and Dallas chronologically. I've just reached November 1980, and the beginning of Dallas season three.
Now I want to pick your brains about the chronology here (something that's always made me wonder anyway).
The Dallas finale where JR was shot aired 21 March. Then 6 days later, Gary made it to his AA meeting on Knots.
Then at the start of the new season of Dallas (which was a couple of weeks before the new Knots season began), Gary contacted the hospital to ask about JR's condition, and it's mentioned that this is his first crisis since his big drunk.
But, Dallas is picking up from the season two finale the very next morning - just hours later.
So how much time do we think has really passed on Knots between the first two seasons. I always got the impression it was months, though it's always a little difficult to tell with the episodic nature of the era.
So did BOTB happen sometime before JR was shot (even though it aired after), or is Gary somehow functioning so completely after a matter of hours. Or do we just accept they are different universes (this is the option that's kept me sane until now...)?
Ah, yes, Dear Mel'ster.... The timeline between BOTB and the shooting of JR ? It is a confusing one....
I fear you and J. are right. There's bound to be Spoilers a plenty once TNT Dallas comes to the end of the season.... Be cautious, be very cautious....
So, what was up with the iTunes Store.. ? I've not been on there for a while so didn't know it was down...
Have you had a good weekend so far, Sir ?
Munchkin J. of Sunny CA How was your extra day-off on Friday ? I hope it wasn't spent in a Californian shoe store or there'll be trouble, Mister..?
KM, Great to see you back online. Have you recovered from your sunburn ?
Sounds like you had a good time away with your Dad. I that FKL Opening Video. Fabulous stuff.... Thank you for posting that.
How was your Gig last night ?
Talking of Gigs, that little sister of mine, unphased by her characters recent write-out from River City has now started singing with a swing band from Glasgow. They're called "That Swing Sensation". I'm not sure how to attach a YouTube video but you can see her in action if you look up "Guinness World Record Tea Dance 2012" on YT. She's singing live with John Griffin. It's an 8:40 video and Claire appears around about the 1:50 mark. This was recorded in July at the Grassmarket in Edinburgh.
Ome Have you packed yet ?, Have you changed your cash into $$$ yet ?, Are you psyched yet ?, Is Lil' Ome in Hyper-Mode yet ? You're going to have a fabulous, fabulous time.
Back here in Dullsville, life goes on.... As does the hall re-decor', truth be told..? It too goes on, slowly.... bit by bit just to make me mental. His Nibbs who's currently head of Intricate Decor and Bad Language advises of an "end of the month" completion date. By which time it won't really matter as by then, dear friends, I'll have wheeled myself into the sea to end my days in Neptune's arms....

Oh my - what a voice. The Lady Is A Tramp - a true classic.
One talent I wish I had is a strong singing voice. I'm always awed when I hear a good singer really going for it like Claire does when singing In Foggy London Town.
Sadly, In Rainy Bristol City, the sun is not shining. In fact it's chucking it down. Yesterday afternoon we had the most amazing thunderstorm. It was one of the best weather displays I've seen. I just love opening all the curtains and some of the windows and watching it all play out, which Andy and I did. Some of the drains in the street seemed to back up, and the road at the front of the house was like a little river. And a village on the outskirts of Bristol - Nailsea - has been flooded.

I've only watched Dallas once (except for season 10, which I've seen twice), so I haven't ever really focused on the chronology between the two shows. But, I always thought that season 2 of Knots picked up a few months after Bottom of the Bottle part 2.

It just irritates me. It's not that hard to create a thread title that isn't a spoiler but still lets people know who or what the thread is about. I hope people are careful with thread titles regarding the cliffhanger. I guess we will see in a few days . . . (Can you believe, though, that here in 2012 we are actually going to be watching a new Dallas cliffhanger?!)

Sadly, my weekend did not feature any shoe stores. It's been a pretty low key weekend--grocery shopping, playing around on iMovie, reading, and little bit of school work.

Oh, that was really cool!! She has a great voice. How did they write her character out of the show she used to be on? If I recall previous conversations, it was going to be an explosion or something for the show's anniversary?

Good Morning..... Well, as good a morning as Monday can offer..? She's a Sneak'ster is Our Monday... Always popping up so quickly and whisking away one's weekend...
Thank you, Mel' for those comments. I shall tell Claire what you said. She'll be well chuffed.
Well, J. No shoe stores is good. You're getting better... Claire's character (as it turns out) is not to be killed off. The powers that be stated that they may wish to bring her back at some point to spice-up the mix... ?? So, Iona hastily leaves for London after winning money on a Lottery Ticket.... How naff is that after 6 years as a main character...?
Our Ome will be counting down the hours now before he leaves on vacation. We shall all miss him.....
Hope the weekend was good to you all, Angels. I'm off to the shops later. Needs must, I'm afraid.
Ome Have you packed yet ?, Have you changed your cash into $$$ yet ?, Are you psyched yet ?, Is Lil' Ome in Hyper-Mode yet ? You're going to have a fabulous, fabulous time.
We started and finished packing the case today. Years ago we would start packing a week before, only to re-pack a couple of times forgetting what we had packed. So it's always the easiest if we do it the day before.
It's started to sink in now that we're going tomorrow and I feel somewhat excited at what our journey ahead will be like. I have really high expectations for Yellowstone.

Mel, that's a brilliant question and one that I would probably stew over. As for having an answer, all I can say is it would give me an headache trying to work it out.

Jason, I always click on the 'New Posts' option when I log into SoapChat, but I have had to stop because of the amount of threads with spoilers in the title. It's not hard to think up a title without having any spoiler details in it. It really is infuriating.
Ome--Just a quick post to say: Have a wonderful, wonderful holiday! It's exciting to think for a while we will be in the same time zone. I have very fond memories of a family vacation to Yellowstone. It's a fantastic vacation destination and I think you will have a terrific time. I'll miss you while you are gone, but I'm excited to hear all about everything when you get back!
Ome, have an absolutely stunning holiday mate. I know you will because I've been there and know what you're going to. If you can take a couple of photos of the bedroom Jill Bennett shared with David Lamb, that would be awsome
Also Ome, just remember that little treat you'll have waiting for you when you return
And to send you on your way with a cheesy smile and a cheesier song, here's a little video for you:
Elsewhere, can I just say that I love Kev's new banner? That's one of my favourite photos from "Earth, Wind & Fire" themselves
Good luck also Kev with the hall decor. That house of yours is like Changing Rooms with Carol Smillie. You must have the prettiest house in the whole of Ayrshire
I was following your conversation there about the Dallas spoilers and I really hope the guys over there keep their trap shut. Up till now, they've been fairly good (I think) but then I've been following the new Dallas so perhaps the 'spoilerability' factor isn't as "spoiled" on me. The one corner of the forum pages which (while a good thing) isn't good for avoiding spoilers and that's that little square section on the top right hand corner of the menu which highlights the top threads of the day. You'd be as well as setting the FKL forum to your favourites and avoiding the menu pages this weekend. I suspect that some eejit will give the game away. I have a sneaking suspicion I think I know what's going to happen in the finale (or at least what the cliffhanger is going to be) and if it happens, it really will be jaw-dropping TV at it's very best because the story is set up in such a way after the penultimate edition cliffhanger last week. If it does happen, then it's going to be almost impossible to avoid. Perhaps you'd all be best to join Ome on vacation and hope the fuss has died down when you all get back
I've also been following the "timeline" discussion on the Season One finale and Season Two premiere of Knots and I have to agree that I also think a fair period of time has elapsed between both episodes. I'm guessing a few months anyway. Where the confusion lies for many is at the Dallas end because the 80/81 season of that show picks up just minutes after JR was shot even though it aired eight months after the initial telecast. However there was one other season of Knots where I have a vague recollection of a date being shown on a document or something either in the closing episode of one season or the premiere of the next season and it was clear from the date on the document that the story was set in June or July. After that, it clicked with me that the finales each year must move forward while the premieres are set "in the past" and (as we know from Knots) the stories will have caught up by Christmastime. The timeline was something both shows were inconsistent with but on the whole, Knots was mostly set in "real" time. I recall one of the show's last ever episodes showing a computer screen at The Sumner Group which Claudia was viewing and the date was 11th February 1993. Being the geek that I am, I checked the airdate of this episode and it was first broadcast on CBS on 11.02.1993!
There - a useless piece of trivia from Bobipedia
During tonight's Revenge, I saw a trailer for a new U.S show called Franklin & Bash. Can anyone tell me if this is any good? The trailer certainly looks good. Any advice would be recommended. After the Olympics end, I'll be needing something to watch on TV.
Finally, I'm glad you all enjoyed the spoof Season 11 opening sequence which was filmed by my good self over the last few weeks. Watch again and you'll see Karen & Val standing having a blether with each other at 1:07 while Sheila Fisher can be seen taking Betsy for a stroll in the buggie outside Val's house at 1:12
Keep well everyone and Happy Tuesday! Today was my first day back at work after 3 weeks so it was most certainly an Unhappy Monday!
Let me quickly fourth that sentiment. Have a wonderful, wonderful time Ome. Bon voyage, and I'll look forward to hearing about your adventures in due course.
Sorry dear KM, I haven't got round to saying how fantastic your opening sequence is xxxx Thank you very much xxx Hope work isn't toooooooooooo stressful.
I have another 4 weeks until I go back officially and I have already been off for 3 weeks not to rub it in
Jason hope all the training and meetings are going well I know you said previously, but when do the children start and are you looking forward to your new role?
Kev Claire has got an amazing voice Hope all is well with you and Stu and that the decorating is nearing completion xxx Hope Bosley and Zach are well
Dave hope Mum and Dad are well and all is well with you, Andy and Oscar (is that your cat)?
Hope all you lovelies, who frequent our lovely forum are well
Have a great day everyone xxx
I've just been reading some old, old posts and realised I hadn't let you all know the outcome of my niece's Olympic auditions. She is dancing in the closing ceremony of the Olympics. 2 friends of mine were in the opening ceremony.
We are all so proud of her
