Did anyone see The O'Reilly Factor on Friday night?

The Factor TV Icon Of The Week was:

(fanfare)

Patrick Duffy!

It was a great interview in which he discussed his many years on TV. He said when he came to Dallas, he had just done The Man From Atlantis, which was unusual enough that it had gotten him some attention. He discussed how great it was to do Dallas, because Larry Hagman "took all the heat" and the rest of the cast just had a great time (he didn't really explain what he meant by "heat"). The discussion was primarily about Dallas, but they discussed his sitcom too. His female fan base was mentioned, and Patrick said his son had noted that if Dallas were hot today, it would require more effort to generate such attention, likely because there are so many choices and so many idols in the internet.

He seemed to jokingly "cry" at never being asked to have his own movie career, and being labelled a "TV Guy".

He said his desire is to do one more sitcom where he can work with a large cast. Bill asked if he was talking about a "Cheers" type show, and he indicated that was what he had in mind.

Although the interview itself was actually taped a few years back, it was upbeat and interesting to watch, and Bill and Patrick seemed to enjoy the interview and get along well...

On a side note, Patrick Duffy is not the first Dallas star to appear on The O'Reilly Factor. Morgan Brittany was interviewed a couple of years back, but that had more to do with the difficulties of growing up after being a child actor, and her role on Dallas was only mentioned as part of her career.
