    JR & guns

This has me still laughing now even as I think of it.
In season 6 when Clayton comes blundering into the house shouting for Miss Ellie and JR appears & whisks a gun out of his dressing gown!
It just cracks me up coz I didn't expect that at all & it looked so random pulling a gun out of his dressing gown!

Do you think JR could have used it on Clayton or was he just bluffing?
Even Miss Ellie didn't seem phased by the gun or reprimand him for pointing it at Clayton which I found interesting.

    What do you think?

You'd think someone who'd been shot so many times would be more gun-shy. Not that there's any logic to season 11, but I always find it humorous that J.R. is out in the woods hunting two episodes after Sue Ellen shot him!

He might have used it had Clayton attacked him, but that's about it.

Hmmm..i'm not sure..i just remember him down on the ground .
I think that was the freeze frame

    Them Ewings had guns everywhere.
    -Hall closet
-Sue Ellen and J.R had one in their room (the gun that shot him came from Sue Ellen's drawer)

Did Bobby have a gun in his bedroom?

Yeah J.R did get shot in the Calhoun storyline.

I remember Pam was annoyed in Season 9 about there being Guns around Southfork when Christopher found one.

I liked that scene when Christopher nearly shoots John Ross (foreshadowing of battles to come in the future between the two cousins??) Miss Ellie didn't freak out, she seemed to take it pretty much in stride which makes me wonder what JR, Gary & Bobby got up to as children. And don't Pam and Bobby ground poor Christopher for like a month? I thought that was severe.

Yeah no kidding. I’m from Texas and we had plenty of guns around the house. Ton’s of people had gun cabinets too which was actually considered a stylish piece of furniture I think in the 70’s and 80’s.

I found a pistol at my neighbors once around age 10 but was smart enough to not play with it. (too much) I’ve now got two loaded shotguns in my bedroom and an unloaded rifle for good measure.

About 10 years ago, a friend of mine late one night was trying to find my parents house (East Texas) and wasn’t familiar to the area and but thought he had the right house so he was using the key I gave him but he was at the WRONG house. He was greeted with a pistol in the face. All I had to say was thank god those people didn’t leave their door unlocked because he would have entered and might have gotten shot.

Don’t mess with Texas, or better yet, us Texans!
