This is a new medical condition that has been around for a few years, but that people really aren't aware of, or that they might know someone who has it.
Fibromyalgia is a condition that affects the muscles of a person's body, it causes their muscles to be constantly sore and tense, making the person feel as though they had just been hit by a mack truck. This also affects the cognitive thinking, a person with this condition will have a bad short term memory, or they will be able to see the word in their head but can't make the connection to say the word and have to struggle to get the right word out. Patients of this disorder also have sleep disorders as well as the constant muscle pain and brain fog.
A person may have these symptons and not even realize that they have this condition. A person who has these symptons for more than 3 or 4 months may have this condition and should see a doctor, just to make sure.
This is a condition one has to live with for the rest of their lives. There is no cure.
I recently found out that I have this condition myself and wanted to post this to bring a certain awareness to others who may know someone who has this condition.
I just wanted to bring an awareness to others about what Fibromyalgia is and
what it is all about.
Bloody hell, tough call Rusty. Sorry to hear this mate. You say no cure, is there any medication that you can take that would make this a little less uncomfortable ?
If I recall, this is what forced baseball player Billy Koch to retire from baseball.
Sorry to hear about your condition though. Das ist nicht gut...
Rusty Hicks - I am so sorry that you have fibromyalgia. Do any alternative therapies help? (ie. massage, acupuncture, etc.) I hope that they do find a cure for you. Take it easy - sending good thoughts your way.
Just for clarification, Koch wasn't forced to retire because of fibromyalgia, he was forced to retire because of Morgellons Disease.
Sorry for derailing your thread.
Both my Mother and Grandmother have this so i know alot about it.
i see my mom in tears sometimes because the pain is so awful
Im sorry you have it Rusty
I am mostly on herbal medication, too scared to take chemical
pills, they always react so badly on me.
This is all new to me, so I am learning to accept it,
as best as I can, but so far it hasn't been too bad.
Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts.
omg now I'm wondering if I have this. I have almost every one of those symptoms. how do you test for it? I really hope it doesn't get bad for you.
