Default Does anyone know where this happened? Maybe Killer Bob knows?

So in reading a bit about Twin Peaks I came across this...

"On an episode of the nighttime soap opera "Dallas", Bobby
meets a man who starts taking about an idea he's had for a
TV show. He mentions a lady with a log and an one-armed
dwarf. After this the man disappears never to be seen
    again. "

Does anyone know when this happened? I don't really remember a scene like that.

That happened on one of the episodes in season 13 where Malibu Bobby was hanging out with Jory n' Pals

But did it really happen? It is in a reliable Twin Peaks FAQ site.

Yes, it was clearly a reference to Twin Peaks, which was airing at the same time. DALLAS generally didn't do references to the outside world, so this was probably just the writer's attempt at a joke.

Obviously, they still had some good taste in those last seasons as well...

That's highly debate able, but at least they didn't lose their sense of humor even while Dallas was going down the toilet....

It's a cringe-worthy moment. It may have been intended as a kind of tongue-in-cheek but respectful acknowledgement of the new soap on the block, but thanks to Bobby's disdainful reaction (Patrick Duffy in smug comedy acting mode) it just comes across as tired, conservative old DALLAS sneering at something new and innovative it doesn't understand.

Season 9's pop at MIAMI VICE was much wittier and more confident.

Tired comment or not, Twin Peaks never enjoyed the success Dallas did and has, and it never will! Twin Peaks was something new and innovative, but ultimately a failure in TV land. So I guess Dallas had the last laugh after all.

That all sounds a bit "might is right" to me. You know, quantity equals quality. I don't subscribe to that notion.

Having never seen Twin Peaks, I never did get what that guy was talking about. I was sort of like Bobby, just wondering what the hell he was talking about. He said something earlier about the Brady Bunch too, so it all just sounded like a bunch of nonsense to me. I thought it was the drugs he was taking.

Also, one of the episodes in season 13 was titled "90265," an obvious reference to Beverly Hills, 90210, which simply became known as 90210. It was one of the episodes with Bobby in Malibu.

And, of course, Dallas and Twin Peaks are two completely different shows...

Oh yeah, remeber that? I laughed my head off the morning I saw that. ''Mandy'' with the guy in the same white tux and ''Sue Ellen'' watching from behind the projection room.
