The forum - a trip down memory lane (with pics)

Some of us were looking at the old forums and recalling the old times and I thought it would be nice to share with the rest of the community. Some may remember and others can see how it started out.

Thousands of people have passed through here over the years, some vanished, some sadly passed on and others are still here.

It was really hard work building the community at first, we really slogged it out day and night, sometimes it was with as little as two hours sleep a night.
Dedication or crazyness....................

It all began in August 1997 and for two years this was the forum.

We then moved, not only to bring an up to date forum but to handle the capcity of people.

Some of you may remember these designs and forums. On some of them you will forums like "Freedom and democracy" following 9/11. If you look closely may see some familar names (Mrs_Jock still on the News forum)

Sadly we don't a full history. But it gives an idea and some memories for some of us old timers.

Its really great to see how the forum has changed over the years. Is the present day forum the best in terms of members, design etc IYO?

When I first came It was just J.R and Sue Ellen in The Forum Banner. And Soapchat was White with a White Logo.

Its always been different Bobby's girl. This may seem like an odd analogy but its very much like a real life soap, it just flows with the times. People come and go so its always constant. So I would say now is the best time

Although I do miss some people.

Actually when we started, forums were quite a new thing. Its amazing actually thinking back how different the web 10 years ago. A bit like Texas when Jock struck his first well

How old is 3rd grade ?

Makes me feel old.

But what is also nice is the loyalty of the fans over the years. We have been here a very long time in net years
