Question J.R./Sue Ellen 2nd Honeymoon at Ewing Lakehouse ?

I was watching the season 5 eppy last night where after their second marriage, J.R. and Sue Ellen were seen at a nice house on their second honeymoon. Sue Ellen went off riding, because he wanted to relax by the pool and "recharge his batteries". Then, he made a call and had someone come up so he could sign some paperwork, all in line with the Petro State dummy company, assets, etc. The guy he did business with said, "Nice place you got here". J.R. said, "If it wasn't so boring, I'd come up here more often". He and Sue Ellen also took time out of their honeymoon to go "into town" for a meeting, meaning into Dallas, I would think.

This didn't look like the Gulf coastline of Texas, and J.R.'s quote said "come up here", which means not down at the coast. My guess is this is another Ewing owned house, essentially a lakehouse outside of Dallas. It was a nice big house, garage, grounds, pool, and showed Sue Ellen walking out the gate and showed the huge body of water and a boat in the distance. It was real calm. There was no beach, so I assumed a good size lake. There are a number of lakes surrounding Dallas to the north and east, and I'm guessing this is another Ewing property and getaway, but it hardly seems to be used. I haven't seen this during the first mini-series and 5 seasons, and when I watched all this between 78 - 91, I don't remember any other scenes here.

That's my guess. Anybody else have ideas ?

Don't have any idea. It was never used or even mentioned again.

Yeah, Takapa....that's a thought. It was planned as a development of town houses for people. There was a lake there, too. Since the Ewings own the land for the area, they could have built their own Lakehouse home there.
