Travolta Movie Gossip

Since there's not been much movie news to speak of lately, I thought I'd post this.

John Travolta is lobbying to get his real-life wife, Kelly Preston, to play his on-screen wife, the long-suffering Sue Ellen Ewing, when he takes on the part of J.R. in the big-screen remake of "Dallas." Preston would be replacing Jennifer Lopez, who was originally cast in the role.

The casting, Travolta admits, may not happen because he and his wife are planning to try to have a third child.

“We’re not pregnant yet, but we’re planning to start [trying] this summer, and that will probably be our last child, but we are looking forward to having another,” the “Hairspray” star told the Scottish Daily record. “I’d have had five or six if we could have. It’s just that having two careers, it wouldn’t have been very fair to try to juggle five or six children.”

I see nepotism and influence extends to this miserable film.

(jokingly referring to the nepotism from the TV series with that comment)

There is nothing like a bit of nepotism to get blood boiling. IMHO better off with H20 though, particularly as regards films and some other things in life too.

A reporter arrives at Southfork, to ask Miss Ellie a few questions, about JR and Bobby, who are lost in a plane crash. A heated argument ensues and she threatens to shoot him. Jock is recovering from heart surgery, at this time, (a scene from season 1, 1978 –79):

Jock is standing on the stairs, as Ellie goes back into the house. He overheard the verbal exchange and is distressed.

Jock: “Why didn’t you tell me? Why Miss Ellie? Why didn’t you tell me?”

Ellie: “I was afraid to and what it would do to you.”

Jock: “When you are going to understand woman. When. That I’m alright!”

Jock and Ellie embrace, as Jock says, “Damn it Ellie! Both of them. Why?”

Ellie: “It’s not certain Jock. There’s still a chance. The search is on.”
