Among my fave Bette quotes are:
"I don't smoke cigarettes. I wear them."
"Butchyaare Blanche, ya are in that chair."
"Have ya ever solved me?"
"You're a vile miserable bitch!"
And now for a few pics:

Great pics guys
Bette was certainly a one off. Joan Collins appeared with her in the 1955 movie 'The Virgin Queen', yes really
, and Joannie didnt understand why Bette was being so mean to her. Someone told Joannie that it was because she was so much younger & prettier than Davies. Of course this was rubbish, as Bette said in her own words "How absurd, the poor girl was confused. Of course I didnt like her character. She wanted to take Sir Walter away from me, and as Elisabeth the Queen, I resented that. It was essential that an air of hostility exist between us. She was in her costume and make up and I in mine. If we'd ben chummy on the set, some of that softness might have seeped through"
Thirty years later, it happened that for the 'Night Of 100 Stars' Joan shared a dressing room with, amonst others, Bette Davis.

Actually, Joan's version of this gets my vote. Say what one will about Collins, Davis was the embittered bitch she's made out to be (which is why Joan Crawford felt such kinship with her).
Funny, though, Collins got her back.... During "Night of 100 Stars", Joan was wearing a low-cut gown and Bette said, "Well, I guess it takes a lotta guts to wear that".
And Collins responded, "And a figure, too"...
Davis has only recently had a mastectomy.

I read in a biography of Bette Davis that Bette hated Joan b/c Joan Crawford kept making lesbian advances to her even after Bette declined them.

I love Kim Carnes Bette Davis Song. I always thought Bette Davis must be a beautiful woman. Then I`ve seen her in "The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex" and was very surprised. I don`t think she looked that pretty. May she has wonderful eyes but that`s all.
But I liked the movie. It was the only movie with Bette Davies which I`ve seen. I liked Errol Flynn in it.

Bette Davis is one of the greatest actresses of all time.
Very pretty, very smart, classy and can make you believe
her character no matter how insane the character is.
She's great in All About Eve
and so so young in "The Petrified Forrest" which
I found recently on VHS
