Does anyone like paper dolls?
Does anyone like paper dolls?I have have heard alot of negetive comments about it and I have to say I do like it with morgan fairchild and nicollette sheridan some of it isn't good but I do like it.I was mad when they took off knot landing and put paper dolls on soapnet last year thiough only because Knots is my all time favorite.I love the 80s music on paper dolls during the photo shoots!

I think it was a good show--it had a lot potential, but the main problem was that it had too many cast members. Besides, Nicolette Sheridan telling her mother "I just want to be normal" was classic.

Bumping this thread up as I am now watching Paper Dolls for the first time and I love it. I think its a great spin on the soap formula. It looks great, the production values are very good. The cast is good and it actually makes sense. I love all the sets and locations and clothes. I really feels more alive than what the soaps were around that time. Fresh and kind of real. I really think it looks better than Dallas, Knots and even DYNASTY. It doesn't have that fake studio soap look. I also am loving the '80s pop songs that feature on Paper Dolls. Lots of my favourite songs have been played. Just heard Shannon's Let The Music Play. Madonna, and others. Though I have noticed that it's not the original artist singing. Anyways I am really enjoying Paper Dolls.

Interesting that in the entire paragraph you did not mention the acting or the writing at all. AFAIC, that speaks volumes.

Actually where I say that the cast is good and it actually makes sense that was in reference to the acting and writing. I think both are pretty good, though I am only on episode 3.

Dear God... The character of Chris York played by Don Bowron is hotttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did a quick google search of him and can only find his 9 episodes of Paper Dolls. Images only turned up one pic. I am guessing he was a model in the '80s though because, yea.. He's beautiful. Anyone know anything more about him? I am really enjoying this show. On episode 5 now.

I have done 6 episodes now and I just love this show. Seeing Nancy Olsen as a mother figure has made me sure that she would have been a much better Miss Ellie than Donna Reed. She is not too glitzy and OTT and has that same sort of easy naturalness that BBG had. She is never too much and she just has the right look for Miss Ellie. I also love seeing Dack Ramb in this, here he isn't so much mr nice guy as he was on Dallas. He's a little darker and cynical I think that the characters on Paper Dolls are all pretty well crafted. For a first season it's very good. It's a shame it was axed and not given a chance. It looks like it was a quite expensive series to make. It just doesn't look as dated as the other soaps. Maybe it's just because it's my first time seeing this whereas I have watched all the others more. I think I'll finish it off tomorrow.

EXCELLENT TV SHOW! The music was great, but yes, I think the songs were mostly covers with 'sound-alikes'.

I thought Paper Dolls was great fun, a bit of a mess but fun. Morgan Fairchild and Brenda Vaccaro were the two to watch.
Brace yourself alexis because IIRC it ends on a huge cliffhanger.

Agreed, loads of fun but the writing was all over the place and it's sort of sub par FALCON CREST. It has tiny flashes of something but it doesn't materialise. There are too many characters and not enough focus. It's basically awful but i enjoyed every minute oof it because it's the last of the 80's soap operas for me.
Branda V is the best thing about it and Morgan Fairchild is great as a camp hot tub soap queen.... ultimately though it's not based on any reality so the whole world of modelling is ludicrous, it's as if Jock Ewing ran a Dallas media empire... and the fashion shoots etc are hilarious, they are more kids from FAME than fashion shoots. Models don't dance when they are doing shoots for perfume, and they dont do dance routines.. . it's so far off the mark it's comedy.
Having said all that, there is something strangely addictive about it... it's got a Jackie Collins tone underneath it which is weirdly compelling. It could have been genius.

Belfast just got mentioned in an argument between Mark and Sarah... Yes along with Iran and some other warzones. I feel a part of it all now!

The cast is huge, the opening credits seemed to go on forever.
Wasn't there a scene where Morgan Fairchild watches porn with Riker from Star Trek or did I dream it?

Yes and Riker from Star Trek is even more cute on Paper Dolls than he was on Star Trek. I am a strange being.

Sandy?! Oh, no! No! Riker looked hot in the federation uniform with and without the beard. I just couldn't get Riker as Sandy in the lame 80's fashion. He also played on Bare Essence and wore suits and noooo...federation uniforms make him, not earth terra-fashion:P
