More of the cast were showcased. The big difference was that Constance McCashin participated and thus scenes featuring Laura were included. Because it was connected to the series finale, actors like Claudia Noone were included.

The reunion featured more clips as it was twice the length and many of them were repeats of what was in the Block Party, but they compliment each other, especially with Laura being included. I might be wrong but Ginger and Kenny missed out in both.

If memory serves, Kenny & Ginger were seen in only one clip during the Block Party Special in 93. I think it was when they were discussing the four couples who made up the original character set.

"..Richard and Laura, the couple in turmoil... Kenny and Ginger, the newlyweds..." or something along those lines.

For a show of its type, the cast were featured quite a lot - there was no interviewer asking questions - just a range of actors sitting alone, talking about their favourite scenes for their characters and introducing a set of clips.

The show was bookended by ML, KD, JVA and TS sitting on director's chairs and doing a little bit of the same sort of chat they did on the reunion. It is worth seeing, but I don't think I could name a clip besides Laura's (from The Gift of Life and the video from her funeral) that wasn't shown in the Reunion. Of course, there must have been but all the usual suspects were in it. The Reunion show showed more.

Just to contradict myself, there was a collage of villians which didn't get an airing in the Reunion and I think the collage of people who had been on the show was more extensive in the Block Party.

Kathleen Noone was also featured & it showed more of her darker scenes like for instance when she poisoned her illegitimate son & there wasnt the interaction between the actors as there was in the Reunion A lot of the clips used in the Block Party were also the same one's used in the Reunion, as in the Act5ors probably chose there best bits

I actually found it quite odd that Kathleen Noone and Stacy Galina were both interviewed, yet they did not appear on the opening credits. Michelle Phillips WAS featured on the opening credits, yet she was NOT interviewed.

This leads me to believe that perhaps the original cut of the program ran a bit longer, and they had to excise bits to make it fit a 1 hour time slot. I would love it if the full version of the Block Party were made available on a future box set.

LOL - yeah, it was kinda cheezy. But I liked it. It validated every time I ever hummed or whistled that theme song by myself. Confirmed I wasn't crazy.

Or... if I was crazy, at least I was only AS crazy as the four of them.
