It was reported by CNN today, June 13, that some of the film version of the Dallas movie starring John Travolta and Jennifer Lopez will be filmed in Dallas, Texas.

It had already been confirmed that a small amount of location exterior shots will be shot in Dallas. Texas.

But there has been no official announcement on where the bulk of the filming will take place. Front runners being Dallas and Louisiana.

Maybe Dallas city will be able to pull it off yet!!

I heard a report today that they will film in Dallas for four weeks and in Shreveport, La., for eight weeks. The spokesperson for the film commission here said that we probably won't get more than four weeks, but that we ought to be grateful because we were only going to get four days in the beginning.

It's too bad they can't use the same Southfork (or rebuild another Southfork that looks like Duncan Acres but bigger and flashier).

    Four weeks is pretty impressive!

Does Shreveport resemble Texas in any way?

Yes, very impressive, considering they were supposably going to have NO local filming in Dallas at one point. MUCH filming can and hopefully will be done in those 4 weeks.

Shreveport is pretty close to the Texas/Louisiana border, so it can pass for Texas. I'm thinking they found a big spread out there to use for their house.

The radio pieces I heard says filming is scheduled to start in Dallas in mid-October.

This is good news! After all it is a cinematic movie about the 'Big D'. It shouldn't be any other way.

Jock goes into the living room of the ranch. Bobby is at the cocktail bar, getting a drink (a scene from season 2, 1979-80):

    Jock: “Evening Bobby!”

Bobby: “Daddy. Fix you a drink?”

Jock: “Yeah a little touch, of Bourbon. I’m glad I caught you alone. I got something I want to talk to you about.”

    Bobby: “Shoot!”

Jock: “I think I have been spending too much time at the office.”

Bobby: “Well if you have I can understand why.”

Jock: “Well I just can’t let JR to continue to run the business the way he has. He just doesn’t know, when to stop!”

Bobby: “Daddy it’s still your company.”

Jock: “I know but that’s the point. Your mama means more to me, than Ewing Oil. I should be spending more time with her, especially right now!”

Bobby: “I think she understands that. Almost loosing this ranch was a real blow to her, that’s all.”

Jock: “Well that’s just another reason why I should be with her. But I can’t do without you Bobby! I’m asking you to come back, to Ewing Oil.”

Bobby: “Come on Daddy, I’m running the ranch now. I like that! I can’t go back to work, with JR, especially if I have to look over his shoulder, all the time.”

Jock: “I don’t give a damn about JR wants! I want what’s best, for this family.”

Bobby: “Well so do I! I’m not working with him!”

Jock: “Bobby I never told you how to live your life. I’m not telling you now. I’m just saying I need your help, that’s all.”

Bobby: “Alright I’ll go tell Ray. I don’t want to leave him shorthanded right now, that’s all.”

Jock: “Look its not going to be forever. Just until we can get JR on the right track, that’s all. Think about it!”
