Dynasty Goes To the Races!
Wow, since I got such a lovely responce to Dynasty Dancing in the Dark, I thought I would put the second story here for you. I hope you enjoy this one too.
Pics are from Der Denver Clan.
This story has Blake and Krystle in it and there a few nice romantic scenes and some drama. It also has Adam, Alexis, Dex, Fallon, Jeff, Kirby, Steven. The powerful Carrington clan is being threatened by someone, can they find out who it is before someone gets really hurt?
Dynasty Goes to the Races - Part One!
The roar of the crowd was competing with the distant rumbling of horses hooves, both were gradually becoming louder and louder. Horse-racing season had come to Denver. A sea of people were craning their necks and trying to get closer to the railings for a better view. Above them the Carrington family were comfortably seated in their own private balcony overlooking the horse-track.
Suddenly brown headed Fallon grabbed her father Blake's arm in excitement. "Oh Daddy, he is taking the lead.", this slender young woman dressed in a fetching red top and matching skirt stood up. "Go, Wildfire, Go!!!! Come on boy you can do it." ,she urged the chestnut thoroughbred. Herself and her step mother Krystle owned and trained several top racing horses and Wildfire was her pride and joy.
By now the twelve horses were galloping around the bend towards the finishing line. Blake, Krystle, Jeff and Fallon had a clear view of this race as they sat around their table. It was filled with glasses of chilled wine and enticing gourmet tidbits. They all stood up now catching Fallon's enthusiasm. Fallon's husband Jeff put his arm around Fallon and could feel her trembling. "Oh sweetheart I think Wildfire is going to be first. Looks like all your hard work is going to pay off." ,he hugged her to him.
It was a lovely spring day and the sun enhanced the beautifully rich satin colours of the jockeys' uniforms and the glossy coats of the horses. Krystle took Blake's hand in excitement. "Oh please let him win for Fallon." ,she thought, "She has put all her heart into getting Wildfire to this stage in racing." This moment was special for Krystle too for Fallon and her had bonded with their love of horses. Fallon had surprised, delighted and flattered her when she had approached Krystle for horse training advice. They had spent many sunny days together working with their horses. Blake looked warmly at Krystle's happy expression. He loved how Krystle and Fallon seemed to be getting on with each other - the two most special girls in his life. To him Krystle looked beautiful and stylish in her floral blue dress. The black hat with a cheeky blue feather made a charming frame for her lovely face.
All heads were focused on the finishing line and the noise of the crowd was at its peak. Suddenly Wildfire had a burst of speed and swiftly crossed the finishing line by a good 20 meters. The overhead speakers bellowed "The winner is Wildfire, Wildfire is the winner by a long stretch with its jockey Jack Macky!! Wildfire is owned and trained by Fallon Carrington - what a race ladies and gentlemen." Jeff hugged Fallon,"Congratulations, I knew he would win. How could he not with you and Krystle guiding him." Blake reached over and kissed Fallon's cheek, "Well done, Fallon." Fallon turned to Krystle and took hold of her hands. "Thankyou Krystle for helping me, I couldn't have done it without you. Isn't it thrilling? The race after the next one should be the one where your horse Mistymoon is racing in. Wouldn't it be marvelous if she won too?" Krystle smiled at her and kissed her cheek, "No Fallon, you did the hard work and I only helped a little. Well we will see what happens with Mistymoon."
They all sat down to enjoy their wine and nibblies while there was a lull between races. Several people that they knew came over to congratulate Fallon. Some even gave her flowers. "Well, well, well what a multi-talented little sister I have. Congratulations sister dear." Fallon stiffened at that hateful mocking voice. She looked up to find Adam's eyes glinting down at her. She thought for the upteenth time, what a shame that someone as handsome as Adam was so devious inside. He was soooo different from her sweet younger blond haired brother Steven who she would trust with her life. Steven couldn't make it here today but sent her a beautiful bunch of roses for good luck, "Oh well.", she thought wistfully.
Adam was dressed in designer jeans with a white shirt and expensive looking black leather jacket which matched his dark hair. "How kind of you to say so Adam." , she mocked at him back. "Is mother here with you? I didn't think horses were your and her thing." Wishing with all her heart that he would just go away. Adam looked around the little group, "Hello father, Krystle," , he looked Jeff up and down contemptuously, "Jeff!" Adam fixed his gazed back onto Fallon. "Well Mother and Dex are here with me. Oh Fallon you underestimate our interest in the things you do. You forget we are one big happy family after all. A family that plays together, stays together." Then he laughed a very cynical laugh.
Dynasty goes to the races - Part Two!
A small dainty dark-haired woman came near them. "Stop teasing your sister Adam.", Fallon's mother Alexis put an admonishing hand on Adam's shoulder. Tall and lean he turned to her and smugly smiled, "Don't worry mother, she loves it, don't you Fallon. That's what a big brother's job is." Fallon ignored him as Alexis bent down to kiss Fallon on each of her cheeks. Alexis then nodded to everyone and said, "Congratulations darling I'm proud of you. Why shouldn't a mother wish to see her daughter's success? Lost any money Blake?" Blake had a small smile playing on his lips, "As a matter of fact Alexis today's my lucky day. I placed money on Fallon and Krystle's horses so how can I lose?"
Jeff, looking smart in his dark blue suit and boyish face got up and hugged Alexis, "You look radiant as usual Alexis, that colour becomes you." Alexis smiled looking down at her soft light green pants suit. She waved a playful finger at Jeff and said, "Ah you always could charm me Jeff even when you were a sweet little boy. Oh yes my pet, one does try to be stylish,", then she gave a quick glance at Krystle's frowning face and yawned delicately,"Although with some of us it comes easier than others." She gave Jeff a cheeky wink. "How lovely of you Jeff to notice." Jeff grinned as he saw the stoney expression that had appeared on Adam's face. Jeff knew how it riled Adam that Alexis felt a special bond with Jeff ever since he had been adoring to her when he was a little boy.
Adam's eyes narrowed and his mouth twisted into a sneer as he glared at Jeff. Adam had only recently been reunited with his family - the long lost son of Blake and Alexis. Adam was too greedy and needy for wealth, power, love and attention and didn't care who he hurt to get what he wanted. He would go to any lengths to be accepted into the family and he dispised Jeff because the Carringtons treated Jeff like a son. Jeff glared back at Adam and thought,"Huh!! You are so pathetic Adam in your attempts to push your way into the family. Alexis may be fooled for now but let's hope it is not for long." Adam's temper was just briming under the surface of calm he was trying to convey. Adam thought. "Jeff the wonder boy!! But no matter how popular you are with them you will never be a real Carrington. I am the first and true son of Blake and Alexis with Carrington blood running in my veins." He looked at his parents and then at Fallon and silently vowed, "You will all accept me as is my birth right. I'll make you, just wait and see. I have worked hard to get mother's approval. I'm going to topple you off your pedestal Jeff if it's the last thing I do." Clearing his hostile expression he took Alexis by her arm in a possessive grip and curtly said, "Come mother we better get back to Dex before the next race starts. We will see you all later." With that, he practically dragged poor Alexis back to their own balcony. "What's the matter with you Adam?" ,Alexis exclaimed. Adam smiled at her, "We don't want to miss this next race, I have alot put on it and besides I thought you don't like leaving Dex all alone for long." Alexis shook her head in bemusement.
Meanwhile in the stables below to one side of the track, a hooded figure trod quietly to where Krystle's grey mare was held. Mistymoon was calm in her stall slowly twitching her long silky grey tail. Suddenly the horse's head went up with a start, sniffing danger in the air. She eyed the intruder warily. There was no one about. Mistymoon's nostrils flared and her ears stiffened as she felt a prick of a needle. She gave a loud naying whine at the slight pain and heard the stranger's footsteps fading away before she sank heavily to the bottom of her stall in a deep drugged sleep.
Back on the private balcony the Carrington clan were enjoying watching the next race. Krystle turn to Jeff saying,"Well Jeff did you place any bets on this race?" Jeff smiled, "What!! And be disloyal to you and Fallon's horses? Never my lady." They all laughed but were interupted by a man in a dark suit. He took out his badge and said, "Excuse me, I'm detective Olden are you Mrs Krystle Carrington?" He looked at Krystle's worried face as she nodded. "I'm afraid Mistymoon has been drugged." They all gasped their horror. Just then the loudspeaker boomed out "Mistymoon, horse number 3 has just been scratched from the 14th race - just to repeat Mistymoon has been scratched she is owned by Mrs Krystle Carrington her jockey is Hal Burns" Poor Krystle turned pale and Blake put a protective arm about her. Detective Olden said reasuringly, "Don't worry Mrs Carrington, Mistymoon is going to be alright, we have a vet looking at her now. If you would like you can come with me to see her." Krystle turned to Blake and looked up at him with big frightened eyes, "My god Blake who would do such an awful thing to Mistymoon?" Blake cupped a gentle hand to the side of her face and then looked at Jeff,"More to the point, who would want to hurt Krystle." Jeff nodded in anxious agreement and Fallon gulped down a whole glass of wine.
Dynasty goes to the Races - Part Three!
At the stables the vet shook Blake and Krystle's hand, "I've checked Mistymoon over and bloodtests have confirmed it was a strong narcotic. But she will be alright tomorrow. I will stay with her tonight to moniter her progress. It seems it was just potent enough to make sure she wouldn't be able to race today." Blake, Krystle, Jeff and Fallon all stood around the sleeping grey horse. Krystle with tears in her eyes, bent down and stroked its noble head, feeling the velvet surface, "It's alright girl, you will be back home tomorrow. I'll keep you safe I promise."
Adam's tall dark figure appeared at the stable door, "Oh father, Krystle we heard what happened. If there is anything I can do just let me know." He gave Krystle a hug. Fallon rolled her eyes at Jeff who in turn raised his eyebrows. "How thoughtful of you Adam.", Fallon purred. Detective Olden strolled up beside them, "Well Mr and Mrs Carrington we have questioned all the stable hands, jockeys and relevant persons. I have your statements. There's nothing else to do today, I suggest you all go home and I will come to see you all tonight for more routine questioning. Sorry you have had to wait around here for so long." Fallon put her arm around Krystle, "I've arranged with our stable manager to deliver our horses back home tomorrow. The detective said they are going to post some men on tonight to watch the horses." Blake put his arms around Krystle and Fallon, "You two look drained, come on let's all go home." Jeff turned to them and said, "You take the girls home Blake and I will meet you there later. I just want a word with Adam." They all said their goodbyes.
When Blake and the ladies were gone Jeff dragged Adam behind one of the stables where it was private. Adam sighed and glared at Jeff, "Ok Jeff, what do you want to say? I'm in a hurry so spit it out." Jeff hissed in angry low tones, "Just what game are you playing this time? You have done some pretty low things in the past but drugging a defenceless animal? You're sick Adam SICK!!!!!" Adam stared at him in stunned disbelief, "Don't be so d**n stupid Jeff. Why would I want to drug Krystle's horse? Remember I was up in the balcony like you when it happened. You are the sick one Jeff!!" Adam started to walk away but was stopped short by Jeff's strong grip on Adam's arm. Adam looked down at Jeff's hand in contempt. Jeff accused, "You could have hired someone to do the dirty deed. You did it for Alexis didn't you? You know how she hates Krystle." Then his eyes lit up as another reason occurred to him, "Or are you going to miraculously 'solve' it and then be in Blake's good books, being the hero? God you would do anything to suck up to Alexis and Blake!!"
Adam violently brushed away Jeff's hand. He gasped, "You're mad Jeff. I already have mother's love and Blake's respect. That's what's really bugging you isn't it." Adam's mouth tugged into a lazy smile that didn't reach his eyes which were fever bright, "Or is this tizzy really about the fact that the butler's little daughter is interested in me." Ah he knew which buttons to push with Jeff. Jeff snarled at him, "You leave Kirby alone, you twisted arrogant bastard. She doesn't want anything to do with you." A mental picture of beautiful, petite Kirby with her big baby-doll eyes and long silky black hair popped into Jeff's mind. He was very protective of Kirby as he knew her since she was a baby. He looked on her almost like a little sister. She had just come back from living some years in Paris France after going to finishing school there.
Seeing Jeff tense, Adam triumphantly sneered, "Ahhhhhhh little Fallon had better watch you, isn't she doing her job as a wife properly? Kirby likes a real man like me, not some sickenly sweet, weak, jerk like you." Jeff felt himself tremble with rage and before he realised it his reflexes kicked in. His hand curled into a fist and quickly smashed into Adam's jaw with such force that Adam reeled backwards. He fell heavily onto the straw and dirt ground. Curling himself up into a sitting position, he ruthfully rubbed his throbbing jaw. He looked up defiantly at Jeff, "The truth hurts hey Jeff, you are jealous of me with the famly." Jeff snorted in disgust and strode away but not before hearing Adam's low mocking laughter grating in his ears.
Dynasty goes to the races - Part Four!
Alexis smiled across the table at Dex's strong angular features. They were still on their balcony and had watched the last three races since Mistymoon had been scratched from her race. Alexis was in a contented mood, the little devil inside her couldn't help but be happy that Krystle's day was ruined. She wouldn't admit it but she was jealous of Fallon's new found love and friendship with Krystle. "The pitifully nice sweet step-mama." ,Alexis thought spitefully. Aloud she said ,"I wonder what's keeping Adam so long Dex? I'm surprised he wanted to help Krystle, he must be getting soft - the little traitor." Dex shook his head at her ,"Alexis, there shouldn't be a competition between you and Blake for your children's love. Whether you like it or not Krystle is Adam's step-mother after all."
Alexis frowned at him petulantly and took a cracker from the table, it was topped with caviare (her favourite) and crunched it hard with her small pearly teeth. After chewing it furiously she said, "Huh!! On second thoughts knowing Adam he just wanted to be a nosey parker. Dex, he is devoted to me." Suddenly Dex narrowed his eyes at her. She shook her head, "Shame on you Dex, and NO - I didn't arrange for Krystle's little horsey to go sleepy bye byes so you can get that thought right out of your head." Dex was just going to make a sarcastic remark when one of the waiters gave them a white card from a little silver dish. Alexis read it for a few seconds. "Oh Adam said he had to go and will meet us tonight at the Carlton for dinner at eight." Dex took Alexis by the hand and turned it over to kiss her palm, "Shall we go home now darling?" Alexis gave him a sexy pout and nodded.
At the mansion later that night after a quiet dinner, the Carrington clan were sitting in the drawing room. Steven had joined them and sat with Krystle on the arm of her chair. He placed his arm comfortingly around her shoulders. He looked down into her worried face, his voice gentle, "I came as soon as I could. I'm so sorry, I hope they catch the criminal." Krystle gave him a weary smile and reached up to brush the stray lock of blond hair away that always fell so adorably onto his forehead. "I hope so too Steven, I'm glad you weren't there to see Mistymoon's condition." Steven looked over at Blake who was standing by the big fireplace, his hand resting on the mantle and his other in his pocket. "You just missed meeting Detective Olden Steven. He said they are doing all they can to investigate." Fallon was curled up on the couch with her head resting on Jeff's broad shoulder, his chin resting on the top of her silky brown head. Jeff squeezed her and said, "I know just the thing to sooth our nerves." He rose and went out of the room.
He came back with Kirby, her dainty figure clothed in a becoming orange dress. She was holding his hand and looked at them all shyly. Jeff grinned at them, "I thought Kirby could work her magic on the piano for us before we went to bed." Krystle got up and hugged Kirby, "Please Kirby would you? You know I love Chopin's Opus 72 No.1. It's so dreamy and you play so wonderfully." Kirby's big eyes shone, "If I can help by just calming everyone's nerves it will be a pleasure." She then proceeded to go over to the black grand piano. She placed the music on the stand above the keys. The Carringtons had always been a big part of her life. OH how she wished to be truely one of them. She began to play the melancholy melody with heartfelt passion.
Every now and again she would quickly glance at the opened lid of the piano. In its reflection she could see that Jeff had sat back down next to Fallon and was holding her in his arms. Kirby's heart broke in sweet yearning as she imagined herself in Fallon's place. She had adored Jeff ever since she could remember, he used to let her tag along with him when they were kids. All her feelings flowed into her music and it enveloped them all. As Kirby's delicate fingers floated up and down the piano keys they were all still and quiet being swept away by the haunting pure notes.
When everyone had retired for the night Krystle was sitting near her dressing table gazing at herself in the mirror. She still had a frightened look on her face and was musing who could have wanted to scare her. In the reflection she could see Blake coming out of the dressing room dressed in his black satin pyjamas. He slowly came to stand behind her. Their eyes met in the mirror. He looked so tall, strong and dependable, thought Krystle, he was her rock. "Poor Krystle", Blake thought, "She looks so beautiful in her lace nightgown but so scared and worried."
He felt an overwelming feeling of protection and love for her. Aloud he said, "Don't worry darling, the police will soon catch the culprit." He placed his hands on her bare soft shoulders. He bent down and whispered into her ear, "I'm here baby to protect you." With that he picked up her hairbrush and gently ran it through her long silver hair in smooth strokes. Krystle sighed, ah Blake always knew this action relaxed her into a drowsy state. He loved the feel of her silky locks and the floral scent that went with them. Krystle closed her eyes and then leaned herself back against Blakes hard body. He put the brush back onto the table.
Slowly he turned her and lifted her into his arms. He loved holding her like this, the feel of her weight and rounded curves was just right. Lowering his head to her throat he breathed in her perfume, the smell made him feel warm desire in the pit of his stomach and lower. Before they had come up to their room Blake had asked the staff to fill their room with lighted candles and flowers from the garden. So they were bathed in a hazy glow. Looking down into her dewy eyes and pink velvet lips Blake mused for the hundreth time today, "How could anyone want to hurt my precious pretty lady?"
Blake raised his head and Krystle could see the love and desire burning in his eyes. He was still the most handsome and noble man she knew. She smiled as she felt him lower her gently onto their big soft bed. She reached up to trace her fingertip around his firm mouth. "I know you will protect me Blake, you are my shining knight." Blake sucked her fingertip teasingly then took her hand and placed it on his heart, "And you are my Queen." , he growled. Then he lay on the bed beside her and ran his hand possessively from the gentle slope of her shoulder, over her lace covered breasts and down to her flat stomach.

He slid her nightgown to her waist, admiring the alabaster globes of her breasts and the little pink tips of her nipples. He took off his pyjama jacket so in the candle glow Krystle could see his muscular chest. She reached up to feel the soft wiry hairs sprinkled here and there with grey. Blake lowered himself to brush his chest back and forth on her breasts feeling their pillowy softness. "Let me love you Krystle," he sighed urgently onto her lips and then he kissed her deeply. Krystle wrapped her arms around his torso digging her fingers into his back in sheer delight as Blake trailed his mouth down her throat to one of her breasts and proceeded to suckle it. "Oh yes my love, "she gasped and they made love long into the night. The horrors of today forgotten for awhile.
Dynasty goes to the races - Part Five!
The next day Alexis was sitting in her plush office at Colby Co. Her tall young male secretary called her on the intercom. "Excuse me Mrs Colby-Dexter there's a Detective Olden here to see you. Shall I send him in?" Alexis had been engrossed in reading some business documents and wasn't in the mood for the Detective. She sighed and rubbed her temples, "Alright David send him in." Then she heard a tentative tone as her secretary replied, "Um madam I'm Bernard, David left last month." "Oops!", She smiled to herself. She really must break the habit of forgetting her various secretaries' names. Her need for professional perfection meant that she hired and fired at will. Or if she was really honest when she was bored with them or wanted to see a new handsome intelligent male face. She exclaimed into the intercom, "Oh yes of course Bernard."
Bernard opened the door and let the little round bald Detective stroll in and left them to chat. "Oh boy this is going to be fun.", thought Alexis sarcastically. She motioned the him to sit down. Aloud she said, "I've had a busy morning Detective Olden so I'm not in the mood for 20 questions but I suppose one must do one's civic duty." Then she leaned forward on her elbows on the desk with her hands resting under her chin. She looked at him from across the desk with big wide eyes, "Okay Detective Olden fire away." He felt a little un-nerved by her intense stare. She looked very beautiful and intimidating in her black and white power suit. He cleared his throat and said, "We have been given to understand that you and Mrs Carrington have quarreled in the past.", he leaned forward, "Did you have anything to do with drugging Mistymoon?" Alexis narrowed her eyes at him, "We have had our little differences but I would never do anything so cruel to a horse no matter how much I couldn't stand its owner. Besides I was up on our balcony with my husband Dex and my son Adam at the time." Detective Olden drwaled, "Ahhh but you could have arranged for someone to do it."
Alexis rolled her eyes and lit up a small slender cigar and slowly inhaled it. She exhaled a stream of smoke in his direction, "Look you can check my phone calls and search my papers but you won't find that I'm connected to any of this." He coughed delicately and thought, "Not getting anywhere with this here." He rose and said, "Oh I intend to run a check on your movements and actions during this last week or so. That's all for now." He left shutting the door quietly behind him.
Somewhere in the slum area of town, in a small, dingy, dark room, a pair of dirty, knarled, large hands were cutting up individual alphabet letters from the printed words of the Denver Gazette. The hands proceeded to glue them on a pink sheet of paper to form the words "WHAT IF MISTYMOON SLEPT FOR GOOD!!!! I CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!"
About the same time at Denver Co young Kirby knocked on the door of Jeff's office. Someone walked past ,"Oh you just missd him, he has gone out to lunch." Kirby's face was full of disappointment as she was looking forward to giving him the chocolate cookies she had promised to bake him. He had wanted to know if she had learnt cooking in Paris and she laughingly told him that she was trained under the best French chef's in the world. "Thankyou I'll just leave these cookies on his desk then." She walked into his office and place the little bag on his desk. She sighed, she had dressed especially pretty today to see if she would get some reaction from him. She looked down at her flowy purple gypsy dress ruefully - all for nothing. Kirby turned and was just about to leave the office when Adam's voice drawled from where he was leaning against the door frame, "Awwwww little Kirby looking like a princess but where's the prince."
Kirby swallowed nervously, Adam's tall dark brooding height always made her feel tiny. He always seemed to devour her with his eyes as if he could see into her very soul. She felt very vulnerable with him and knew that he was the only one who realised her love for Jeff. "Don't be silly Adam, I only came to give Jeff these cookies I promised to bake for him. I have to go now, he went out to lunch." She went to move past him but he blocked her way and closed the door with his back against it. "Not so fast my sweet. Why do you chase after a loser like him when you know you have better pickings with me." Kirby looked him up and down with disgust and said tautly, "Why are you so arrogant to think I would want to go with someone like you is beyond me. Can't you take no for an answer? You make my skin crawl." Adam suddenly grew tense and quirked his eyebrow at her, "Is that a challenge? Never let it be said that I run away from such things." With that he suddenly picked her up off the floor so that her eyes were in line with his.
She struggled but his arms were like warm silken bonds. She put her hands on his shoulders to push him away and her small legs were kicking the air. She gasped , "Adam put me down this second or...", she faulted as she couldn't think of a threat that she could inflict on him. He laughed at her weak threat and growled, "And what will you do little Kirby?". He liked the fragile feel of her against him - yes he thought she was just like a little doll. Her smallness made him feel strong but also just looking at her made him go weak at the knees. Whether she liked it or not he had plans of them being together, for like him she so wanted to be part of the Carrington clan and he aways got what he wanted. "It is for her own good and she loves me but just doesn't realise it yet", he thought to himself to justify his behaviour. He easily held her with one arm around her tiny waist and put his other hand into her long soft midnight blue-black hair and pulled so that her head was positioned just right for his kisses.

Cupping the back of her head firmly so she couldn't move, his firm mouth came down on hers. His lips probed the tightly closed line of hers but she fought it. "Open you mouth Kirby.", he rasped softly against her lips, filling her senses with his minty warm breath . "No!" Which gave him the opportunity to give her an erotic kiss. She couldn't believe how a person she hated could make her feel so wonderfully warm with desire. She could feel the strong hard length of his body all the way to her toes. Her heartbeat went into overdrive as he deepened the kiss, his tongue toying sensuously with hers and she automaticaly trembled in heated response. "God this was madness, I love Jeff, I always have.", she thought and purposely relaxed against him. He smiled to himself ah she was relenting at last , he couldn't get enough of that sweet rosebud mouth. When she felt him relax too she tore her mouth away from his and struggled. He dropped her in surprised. He smiled smugly, "You see? We belong together." He let her push past him and she frantically opened the door. She was breathing fast and trembling with rage and humiliation, "Adam just leave me alone. Jeff is kind and sweet and he wouldn't drug helpless animals to get his way." Adam scowled at her, "You really think that of me? Some day Kirby I'll make you take back all you hurtful words to me and you have just proven that you want me so don't be a little hypocrite. Till next time angel" Kirby ran towards the lift and pressed the button and mercifully it opened, she rushed inside it and watched as it's doors closed on the sight of Adam's handsome menacing figure.
On the floor above Alexis was standing by her big office window. She was staring out at the cars and tall tower buildings below. The intercom beeped and Bernard's voice said, "Call on line one for you, its your daughter Fallon." Alexis picked up her phone, "Ah Fallon how are you darling after yesterday's dreadful business." Fallon's voice was harsh and clipped, "Mother, did you have something to do with Krystle's horse?" Alexis sighed, god everyone thought she did it. "Fallon I might do some hard things to people that do me wrong but I wouldn't harm a poor animal. You couldn't believe your mother would do such a thing, please believe me darling." There was silence on the other end and then, "Alright mother I'll give you the benefit of the doubt but if I find out you were connected to it in any way I'll never speak to you again. Do you understand me?" Then she hung up. Alexis sat wearily back down on her chair. "It's just no my day today.", she thought wryly. She pressed the intercom, "Bernard would you contact Rex for me to come here and give me a massage?." Whew- she needed one.
Dynasty goes to the Races - Part Six!
That afternoon Krystle and Fallon were at their own stables overseeing the return of their horses. The stable hand was just taking Mistymoon out of the horse trailer. Krystle sighed with relief, "Oh Fallon Mistymoon is her old self again." They both admired the mare's glossy grey coat and long silky mane. They put her in one of the paddocks with Wildfire where the two horses galloped around it together enjoying the sunshine and fresh-air. Jeff pulled up in his red sports-car. He greeted them with a hug and a smile, "I took a long lunch break so I could come and see if the horses were settled back home. Looks like they are thier healthy selves." Krystle grinned at him warmly, "Yes Jeff aren't the horses wonderful. It's hard to believe a person could want to hurt them." Fallon placed her hand on Krystle's arm, "I'm so relieved, maybe that's the end of it."
The voice of the young stable hand called them to come back over to the stables. He looked anxious as he handed them a pink envelope, "I found this in Mistymoon's stall." Fallon opened it, "Oh Krystle, I spoke too soon. It's not good." She handed it over to Krystle who went pale as she read the words of cut up newspaper print "What if Mistymoon slept for good?.......etc" Shakily she said, "Good god Fallon and Jeff we are dealing with a sick man." Fallon hugged her , "I'll ring Detective Olden to come." Jeff took the letter from Krystle's nervous fingers and read it. An idea formed in his head, "You two go on up to the house. I"m going to make a few enquires with the staff around here. I'll join you all later."
An hour later Fallon, Krystle, Blake who came from his office after Fallon rang him and Detective Olden were all seated in the Library. A thought suddenly struck Olden as he stared at the pink paper in his hand, "Mrs Carrington, have you had any trouble with the stable staff lately? Did you fire anyone in the last couple of months?" Krystle hook her head, "No - my stable staff are all had workers and we all get along fine." Detective Olden looked at them will eager eyes, "You see it would have to be someone who was familiar with your property. Someone who knew which stall was Mistymoon's. You see what I'm getting at?" Blake looked at Krystle, a new aware light coming into his eyes, "Yes of course. Could be a disgruntled worker here. Think darling, has there been any other staff that has been acting strangely?"
Fallon suddenly slapped the side of her head, "Oh daddy I got rid of one of the junior gardeners a few months ago an Archie Brown. He had been caught stealing some of our gardening equipment. The other workers said he was sullen and acting very weird. He gave the female staff the creeps - watching them all the time." Blake said, "Do you think you can trace his address Detective Olden? His address in our files is probably false anyway" Olden nodded, "I'll check on it right away and get a search warrent. I'll just use your phone to alert headquarters." He then proceeded to do so with the phone on the little side table. After he had finished he said, "Bring the head gardener here as he may know this fellow's address and save us abit of time." Blake turned to him, "Good idea Olden." Blake hugged Krystle, "Smile sweetheart, we may have solved it."
A few minutes later Harold the old head gardener was brought in by Gerard the head of staff. Harold shuffled into the room with his shabby hat in his hands. Detective Olden said, "Now sir we think you may know the address of Archie Brown, he was the junior gardener that was sacked a few weeks back." The old man put one hand up to scratch his head, "He is my nephew and I took pity on him. I haven't seen him for years and his mother asked if I would get him a job here. I didn't realise how strange he had become. I'm sorry if he was any trouble to you all. I have since found out he has a long history of violent behaviour. Mr Jeff Colby wanted to know if there was any staff that had been sacked in the past few months too. I told him Archie's address about ten minutes ago. I hope Archie hasn't done anything too bad." Fallon turned worried eyes to Blake, "You think Jeff might have gone to this mad man's place? Jeff may be in danger." Blake put a reasuring hand on her shoulder, "Now Fallon Jeff is very sensible, he can take care of himself." But Blake was worried for Jeff and frowned to himself, why didn't the boy let him in on it?
Meanwhile Jeff had broken into Archie Brown's rundown flat at the other side of town. He searched the grotty place and found at the back of an old woodworm cupboard bits of pink paper and a newspaper that had been cut up. Suddenly the door opened and standing there was the burly figure of Archie Brown. His face was red and screwed up with rage and his big hands were curling and uncurling into fists of frustration. Jeff froze in suprise and fear at the sight of this big aggressive man. He plucked up the courage to say, "It's no use trying anything funny, I know you drugged Mistymoon so you may as well sit here quietly.", then he bluffed, "I've rang the police and they are coming now."
Brown licked his thick lips nervously, "You should never have stuck your nose here, now I'll have to get rid of ya!!" He suddenly lunged towards Jeff. Jeff tried to avoid him by going around the ricketty table but Brown was too quick for him. Jeff felt Brown's powerful grip and then splintering shards of pain in his head as Brown hit him with a heavy lead baton that he produced from his pocket. Jeff collasped onto the hard floor with a dull thud and a grunt- he was out cold.
Dynasty goes to the Races - Part Seven!
Jeff awoke with a sore head. He felt has was laying on something soft. He slowly opened his eyes and Fallon's beautiful face came into focus. Behind her were the anxious faces of Blake, Krystle and Steven. Jeff slurred, "What? Errr where am I?" Fallon leaned over the bed, "It's ok Jeff you are alright. You bumped your head and are in hospital." She gently and placed a kiss to his cheek. Slowly Jeff remembered his meeting with Brown. Krystle sighed with relief to see Jeff awake and held Blake's hand. Steven smiled at Jeff and tapped his sheet covered feet, "Jeff, you gave us a scare but you will be fine again."
Jeff automatically put up his hand to his head to try and remember the incident with Brown more clearly and felt a cotton bandage there. He blinked up at Blake, "Blake what happened to Brown? They have to watch him, he is very dangerous." Fallon placed a fingertip on his lips, "Shhhhh, don't talk, just rest. We know all about Brown. The police caught him just after he hit you as he was running out to his car. Everything is going to be alright, darling." Krystle said to Blake and Steven, "We better go now as there is too many of us in the room - we all love you Jeff and it's wonderful that the docter says you will make a complete recovery." Blake and Steven nodded in agreement and Blake put a hand of Jeff's shoulder, "That was a brave thing you did my boy, we are proud of you although you should have let me in on it but we will talk about that when you get out of here.", he winked at him. They left Fallon with Jeff. Jeff relaxed and closed his eyes and drifted back to sleep being soothed by Fallon patting his hand.
Alexis was in her big round bathtub in her spacious apartment enjoying the warm water and soap bubbles when the telephone on the side of the tub rang. "Hello Alexis speaking." Alexis was trying not to get bubbles and water on it and gingerly held the phone to her ear. "Hello mother? It's Fallon here, I owe you an apology, they have found out who drugged Krystle's horse, I'm sorry I thought it was you." Fallon then proceeded to tell Alexis all about Jeff's adventure with Brown. When the converstion was finished Alexis put the phone down and smiled - whew I'm in Fallon's good books again. Dex put his head around the door, "Darling who was that on the phone?" Alexis was in a happy mood again as Fallon seemed to be nice to her once more. Alexis crooked her finger at Dex, "Come here lover and join me in here and I will tell you all." Dex gave her a lazy grin and started taking off his silk green shirt, he liked it when Alexis was in a loving mood. When he was naked he slipped into the tub and made Alexis sit on his lap. He loved the feel of her slippery wet, warm smooth skin. He put his hands on her small breasts, watching the water lap against them in his hands and drew her back against him. He whispered at the base of her neck which was wet and bare as she had pinned her dark curls up onto her head, "Now do tell me all, well maybe later, who ever it was who called remind me to thank them." He started to kiss her, getting soap bubbles on his nose. Alexis sighed contently.

The next day everyone in the mansion was full of relief that the man who had drugged Mistymoon had been caught. They were so glad Jeff only suffered concussion and that he would be coming out of hospital in a week's time. Kirby went to see Jeff in the hospital that night. He was asleep and to her looked so cute and adorable - just like a little boy. She bent over the bed and rested her head on his chest, "I love you Jeff even though I know you will always love Fallon. I can tell you this only because you are asleep. No matter what happens I will always be here for you." She gently brushed her lips on Jeff's sleeping eyelids, his nose and then kissed his lips. Then she closed her eyes and rested head back on his chest, enjoying just resting there hearing his breathing, feeling Jeff's gentle heartbeat and the rise and fall of his chest.
Archie Brown was safely locked away while waiting trial. Detective Olden questioned Brown in his holding cell. Brown was adamant that a man had rang him wanting to know if he wanted revenge on the Carrington's for sacking him. He said the man was willing to pay him $6000 after the deed. Then he was supposed to collect the money a week later from a rubbish bin near his flat at particular time and date. He swore he didn't know who wanted him to drug the horse. The pink note was his own idea as he planned to send a futher note asking for money so he wouldn't kill Mistymoon. Detective Olden grunted in disgust, "The stupid fool got too greedy." Brown said he panicked when he saw Jeff in his flat and tried to kill him to shut him up. Olden's heart grew heavy as he realised they would never be able to trace the person that was behind it if there really was such a person. If that was the case then Brown had been really thick into thinking he would get paid after the job, instead of wanting payment before, this showed how easy it was for this person to use him. Or else Brown concocted this tale to get a lighter sentence as there was no evidence of anyone else connected in it.
The following day, Adam was sitting in his own office at Colby Co. Blake had called him about the recent events and Adam had been mulling over the news for 15 minutes. His phone rang and it was Alexis, "Oh Adam did you know what happened to Jeff? Fallon told me the news." Adam sighed, "Yes mother, father just rang me not so long ago." Alexis said, "Poor sweet Jeff! Wasn't it brave of him to go after Brown?" Adam frowned, "Err Yes mother so glad it's solved, I'm busy now and I will talk to you later." He put the phone down and thumped his desk, "Stealing my thunder again Jeff?" Then he smiled smugly and thought, "Ah it didn't have the ending I wanted - me solving it and getting the respect I deserve from Blake instead of Jeff but...." he opened his desk draw and took out the little bag of Kirby's cookies with he had stolen from Jeff's desk the other day, "Yes it was worth it just to see Jeff end up in hospital, shame Brown didn't finish the job properly - oh well another time perhaps." He then leaned back in his chair and took a cookie, munching it, savouring its flavour just like he remembered savouring the taste of Kirby's sweet mouth, "Luckily they can't trace this business back to me.", he chuckled softly.
While he had been at the mansion a few weeks back he was fortunate to overhear Fallon firing that big, burly violent man. "Ah", Adam thought, "what an opportunity that was to use the dumb oaf to my advantage, get him to drug Krystle's horse and them later expose him. Oh well there will be other plans to work out how to gain acceptance in this family." Adam wanted Blake and the family to see that he solved the mystery and see him as the hero - Jeff had been right in his assumption on that but fate made Jeff beat him once again for adoration from the family - d**n Jeff!! He took out another cookie,"All's fair in love and war.", and took a bite and pondered, "One thing that came from this, little Kirby and the rest of them still think that Brown was responsible so Kirby will think she owes me an apology. How ironic ha ha." Then Adam spent the next ten minutes dreaming up ways Kirby could make it up to him.
Detective Olden rang Blake and Krystle telling them that he had questioned Brown. He said that the fool had tried to make them believe that he had done it for someone else but that there was no prove of that and Brown had the motive of revenge for getting fired by the Carringtons. So it looked like they caught their man. Now that all the drama and fear were at an end Blake had arranged a lovely surprise for Krystle. He wanted to lift her spirits again. Around mid-day he took Krystle in his car and had insisted that she wore a blindfold. He chuckled, "Trust me sweetheart, you are going to love this and you are not allowed to peek." She laughed nervously, "Oh Blake this is silly but I love it." Krystle trembled with anticipation and wondered what on earth could Blake's surprise be? She heard the car stop and felt Blake guide her out of the car then he picked her up in his arms whispering, "This way my lady." He carried her through the grass and flowers and suddenly she heard a whooshing sound and tensed, "Blake what's that? What are you up to?" He laughed, "All in good time." Blake gently placed her down again on something that felt hard under her feet. Then Blake was next to her, "Hold on to me Krystle." She put her hands around his waist and heard the whooshing sound again only longer this time. Then Krystle felt like she was riding an elevator as her stomach went into gentle flutters and she could feel a slight swaying motion. She hung onto Blake for dear life. Then the feeling stopped and all was quiet save for the gentle breeze. Blake took off her blindfold and Krystle gasped in awe, "Blake it's beautiful!!!!" He hugged her to him, "When I'm with you I feel I'm floating on air and wanted you to experience it too hee hee." And indeed they were floating up in the air - in a hot-air balloon!!!
They both looked up at the big gas cylinder and Blake pressed a button and suddenly a blue flame came from it, filling the giant blue and red silken dome above them, making that whooshing sound. Then they both gazed down below to see the quilted green pastured and tiny trees sprinkled here and there. Krystle could even see her horses roaming, looking like little ants and beyond then the mansion looked like a fancy doll's house. Up where they were the blue sky was all around them. Blake bent down and took two glasses and a chilled bottle of champagne from a little wicker basket. He popped the cork and filled the glasses and gave one to Krystle. He tapped his glass to hers, "Here's to you Krystle.", and was just about to take a sip when Krystle stopped him by placing a tender kiss on his lips, "And to you Blake and our love." With that they looked into each other's eyes and slowly drank.

Yes, and I also enjoyed your story on the book, I think it really fits to the show! You have depicted Blake and Fallon just like they were in the first season, not like they became and that's what surprised me - in the good way of course.
You should have been hired by the Shapiros, you know better the characters than they did!
