... that always bothered me was how she's supposed to be sooo cultured, such an artist, but it's Sable who recognizes that the painting Roger gave Alexis was a Frederick Stahl! Two points for Sable!

Well, Alexis' education, no I don't think she was that cultivated. Sure, she had some education and knew a bit of culture, but I've always got the impression that it'd been rather shallow.
Someone who knows the painting Mona Lisa and some van Goghs but probably not some by Magritte or Juan Mirņ.
Btw I don't know any Stahl pictures ...
