I have to agree with you about that. I just can't understand why "Dallas" was not honored more. Was it because it was a night time soap? However, I am sure that the other night time soaps got plenty of nominations and wins as well. I just can't figure it out.

Barbara was the only cast member of the show to win an Emmy, which was well deserved. I always thought it was a shame that none of the others got a chance to win one.

Linda Gray was just wonderful as Sue Ellen. It's a shame she never won the Emmy for playing Sue Ellen, though at least she was nominated a couple times. It was so heartbreaking to me, seeing that look on her face when she saw for her own eyes JR in bed with Holly Harwood. If you listen closely, you can hear her sob (they didn't play any music over it).

I think there was some bias against prime time soaps at the time "Dallas" was popular. It was on when "Hill Street Blues" and "Lou Grant" were winning numerous Emmys for both their actors and best drama series. I swear in the Barbara curran book she says that damn "Dynasty" won a Golden Globe for best drama series one year; I guess they bribed some voters .

I don't think they are Tatianna. But, I agree with ya'll on the Emmy, Linda was robbed and I have always thought that Larry was robbed big time. But, Linda deserved it so many times. One for the Holly thing or when in the Dream Season where she was standing in front of the mirror and was saying that JR was right...one of my favorite scenes in the Dream Season and so well done by Linda.

Regarding emmy's...

Unfortunately Linda had some fierce competition for the Emmy's back in the day... with Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless (Cagney & Lacey) winning the Emmy's 6 times (4 for Tyne, 2 for Sharon) between them. I am a HUGE Cagney & Lacey fan-atic (my other favorite show!) and I think both Tyne and Sharon are brilliant.......but I sure would've loved to see our girl take home one or two. SO well-deserved.

Back in the day Dallas was considered a guilty pleasure, not a serious program, and the Emmys went to the more "serious" programs like Hill Street, C & L, Lou Grant, etc. Very unfortunate as Dallas had great acting.

I've always said this...and I think SHE would make a great Sue Ellen in the movie....but so would Ashley Judd...but Lisa really does look like she's related....Esp now that Linda's hairis darker again.
