Abby's being bi would have ruined the character. It would've boosted ratings because all the straight men would have wanted to see what woman Donna Mills was doing that week, but it would've ruined the character. Funny, but true. What separated Abby from the other female characters on KNOTS was that, even though she was very beautiful and feminine, she actually behaved more like a man than like a woman: she let her intellect rule her actions and kept her emotions in check, she was always focused on amassing more money and power, and she used sex as recreational pleasure or as a tool to manipulate others.

She also had no patience for the more traditionally 'female' characters like Val and Karen, who were too often ruled by their emotions. Abby always seemed more comfortable in the presence of real men like Greg Sumner, who she interacted with as a complete equal.

I agree with Christine 100%! Abby loves her men! In no way would she ever be bi! It goes against the character the writers created to have her be bi. Abby could only be satisfied by a man. At least this is MHO.
