Is anyone else a fan of this show?
I absolutely loved it back in the 1980's - it was the smartest, sexiest, funniest, sassiest show ever. Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd, even though they apparently hated each other in real life, made for a terrific on-screen couple.
My favourite episode is probably the take-off of The Taming Of The Shrew with lines in iambic pentameter! Although that episode is in season three. Hopefully the complete series will be released. I gather that all the original music, like MIAMI VICE, will be intact on the DVD release.
Love the show.....

Every season except season 5, it's final, when Cybil Shepherd got Glenn Caron, the EP/creator, fired by the network (or else she'd quit) because she didn't like the fact her character had become too unsympathetic [translation: too much like her, only nicer]... and, of course, it crashed in the ratings and was cancelled on the spot.
Everything they say about her is true... (No news flash, I realize).
"Goest thou to Hell...!"
Cybill must've been livid when Bruce Willis' film career took off and hers went nowhere after MOONLIGHTING.
Funnily enough, both Curtis Armstrong (Herbert Viola) and Allyce Beasley (Agnes Dipesto) have stated in retrospect that both Cybill and Bruce were jerks to work with on the set.

No doubt that's true... I can't stand him either--- in fact, I can actually WATCH her more easily than I can him, as "Moonlighting" is just about the only thing he's done where he didn't make my skin crawl.
But she's a apparently more consistenly destructive, and had more to do with ultimately bringing down that show with her ultimatum to the network... and while it's highly unlikely they would have signed to go beyond season 5 anyway, the final year was terribly mediocre because of Caron's absence-- cloying, trite and dumbish, just going thru the motions.
MOONLIGHTING lost it with the "Maddie's pregnancy" storyline. The show lost its sparkle and became just another dull melodrama. I don't think I've ever seen the final episode, because I'd lost interest by that stage.
Apparently Cybill was just as vile on her sitcom, with bad blood on the set when one of her co-stars became more popular than her.

Yes. Christine Baranski. Very funny. Cybill brought down that show too for the same ego-based reasons, after an initial good reception by the critics.
Baranski also went on to a film career, to some degree. Cybill didn't.
Self-destructive c*nt.
Of course, it's not like that Lucy von Pelt personality isn't written all over her face.

And to think that is the actress who was in Taxi Driver too.....

And she walked out of the porn theatre DeNiro took her into.
Crazy bitch!
Cybill Shepherd and her egomaniac personality aside, I am looking forward to seeing MOONLIGHTING again.
"Some walk by night.... some fly by day...."

Oh, yes--- good show!![]()

I don't care if she's a bitch in real life, I'm probably never going to meet her anyway. I think Cybill is a great actress and MOONLIGHTING was a brilliant show. I've only seen it dubbed in French as of now and as I would love to hear the original dialogues I certainly hope it gets a Region 2 DVD Release as well.

I like this show, but i am not gonne buy it on dvd. I am waiting for Hunter on dvd region 2, but i am affraid that's not gonne happen.

Other than Dallas ... Moonlighting was actually the first couple to send sparks through the tv ... Madelyn Hayes and David Addison were the hottest couple to ever be in denial ---pre friends that is.... Cybil Shepherd and Bruce Willis had such great chemistry ... plus you always looked forward to every new episode because you never knew what would happen. There might be a treat when they just talked to the camera and made you feel like you were there.. with them...
i don't like moonlighting.
I enjoyed Moonlighting quite a lot, I felt the fourth year was good even, it only lost it the 5th year without the original creator. My Mom probably liked it more than I did but I still feel pretty warm about it. I do love Bruce Willis, he's one of my favorite actors of all time and he's been in some of my favorite stuff. I do feel like people bash the fourth year of this one too much, I didn't really care that Maddie was missing a lot of it even if it seemed to bother others. I was always a bigger fan of his anyway so I actually liked it better when she was gone.
