Chances
I was just browsing through some Australian DVD e-tailers and I came across this release of this early 1990's Aussie soap. I must say it sounds pretty wild:
"CHANCES embraced high camp and complimented it with an overabundance of flesh. The series' craziest, most insanely delirious episodes are gathered together on these DVDs.
You'll also encounter deviates, triads, Israeli secret agents, Nazi drag queens, girls in cages, witches burnt at the stake, an assortment of Medieval sex fantasies and "Carry On" style French revolution past-life flashbacks.
Finally, throw into the mix a soft-focus dirty weekend with Oz sex symbol Abigail, a mice-eating Venus fly trap, a box of chocolates full of slow-acting poison, a middle-aged bitch fight, a bevy of fantasy brothel sequences and a crazy plot involving the Eva Braun necklace - a valuable Third Reich artifact that transforms the wearer into a sex-crazed ancient Egyptian goddess!"
More information on CHANCES can be found here.

CHANCES was apparently the last TV gig for the legendary Abigail - she of the 80's Blonde Big Hair and cat-like countenance. She played a sex therapist.

I've just brought the Volume One DVD and watched a few episodes. And I can't make head nor tails of it to be honest! Probably the weirdest programme I've even seen. Once I've got through the 8 episodes featured, I'll doubt I'll watch it again. Though as a fan of most Australian TV shows I shall find this an interesting show to watch.
I've read on http://www.imdb.com that some of my favourite actresses from Neighbours and Home and Away have starred in this show - Annie Jones, Cathy Godbold, and Mouche Phillips. Though dissapointingly for me, it doesn't look like they're in any of the episodes on this DVD. I shall have to buy Volume Two soon.
The episodes featured on Volume One by the way are episodes 97-104 which was a little surprising as I thought Volume One would feature earlier episodes, preferrably starting from episode 1. There were apparantly around 150 episodes of this show produced.

Failed soaps are oddities IMO. I mean I'd never want to see a release of Albion Market, Eldorado or the like, but this one sounds very strange, almost in the "Night And Day" vein of soap operas, may have to give it a try!

The episodes I've watched so far on the Volume One DVD are outrageous and surreal enough, but judging by the cover pic of the Volume Two, the episodes on there are going to be at least twice as outragous and surreal as Volume One!
