JAMES is booked when the police finds his fingerprints on the gun, though he already was under suspicion since he took over BARNES-EWING OIL. At Memorial Hospital, a blond woman gives to the doctor an authorization signed by PAMELA EWING...

BOB´s detective finally locates KATHERINE at the EWING OIL old building´s penthouse...but it is too late: she is out of her mind and jumps off her terrace...Police finds evidences in her apartment which confirm that she shot CLIFF...

JAMES is released and returns to BARNES-EWING.
CLIFF, paralysed but conscious after the operation, gets isolated from the outside world, except for one person: HIS SISTER PAM, who´s come back to DALLAS discreetly, in order to take care of him...

At OIL BARONS´BALL, the EWINGS join the social life of DALLAS again. A rumor spreads around: PAM is the blond looking after CLIFF. GARY and SUE ELLEN get real along as partners in their Alternate Power Company, but ignore someone watching over them...J.R. is posthumously named Oilman of the Year at the Ball...

Obsessed with her new job, SUE ELLEN neglects JOHN ROSS and he becomes addicted to a fashionable drug, which worsens his school´s marks...To get things even worse, SUE ELLEN gets a phone call from DON, who´s received some compromising photos of her and GARY, very close to each other at the Ball...

Meanwhile, LUCY is determined to re-unite her parents again and plots against his business, spying on him for JAMES, so he´ll return to KL...GARY offers his help to SUE ELLEN with JOHN ROSS´s problems, and DON´s divorcement suit. Their alcoholic background makes them handle the issue very carefully...

CLIFF and PAM bought out RAY´s old house to MICHELLE´s lawyer, in order to be closer to SOUTHFORK, and therefore, also closer to CHRIS...JAMES´s wife, DEBRA LYNN, allied with CARTER, returns to DALLAS with her son, trying to get him home again, but now-scheming JAMES makes her sign a document giving him the child´s custody...

Meanwhile, VALENE exhorts GARY to take care of his own family and be a responsible father, and he quits his fight for POWER...After facing VAL, GARY decides to dissolve his company and sells CLIFF his adquisitions, even knowing he won´t pay him enough...but they will be a part of current EWING OIL...

At SOUTHFORK, BOB and RAY open a green-area family resort, part of the New Southfork Project, with Miss ELLIE´s approval. SUE ELLEN and JOHN ROSS fly to LONDON for the divorce procedure and BOBBY decides to call on CLIFF...

BOBBY gets quite a surprise when he finds out that CLIFF´s blonde companion is...AFTON. In spite of his explanations, he thinks they keep something away from him, since his son has become suddenly interested in his mother. When AFTON leaves again, BOB figures out the truth: PAM is back and has been seeing her son CHRIS...

Under pressure from CLIFF and miss ELLIE, BOB agrees to let his son meet openly his mother, though he feels there´s a wall between him and PAM, and it always will...

In Switzerland, RAY meets DONNA by chance. She´s attending an ecologist convention and their daughter MAGGIE is with her. The couple´s feelings come to the surface again, after all these years apart...

Miss ELLIE visits PAM in order to let her know she will be on her side and make her possible to keep on meeting her son. Meanwhile, LUCY and JAMES have become partners to buy out BARNES-EWING, ignoring it´s almost ruined after several months without a proper management...

BOB agrees to hold a meeting with PAM, but a
TRAGEDY stops him to...Before that, CLAY confesses to DUSTY something about miss ELLIE´s health...

Miss ELLIE´s death shocks everybody in DALLAS. She´s died of cancer, after having another mastectomy done in Europe and after a long search for a cure all over the world...

At her funeral, everyone who ever loved her is present: GARY, VAL, DONNA, RAY, PAM and SUE ELLEN. Finally, BOB allows CHRIS leaving on a vacation trip to EUROPE with PAM and CLIFF. Before that, CLIFF discovers that AFTON´s daughter has disappeared from her life mysteriously...

DUSTY is asked by CLAYTON to stay and settle down in SOUTHFORK, RAY gets an overseas call from JENNA, and JAMES, completely broke again, is mentioned in miss ELLIE´s last will and receives his part of the Ewing fortune.

The day they must leave to Europe, CLIFF reveals BOB the truth about PAM: she was told she was going to die soon, and that´s why she left them years before. Eventually, BOB reacts to that and rushes to the airport, but it is too late: the plane is off...
