JR would win because he would do ANYTHING to win.

Is there even a question about it ?? JR dealt with real low-lifes, and was a cutthroat business man...and the other guy? I'm not a big dynasty fan, but JR would chew him up, and spit him out!!

    JR IS THE KING

While Dallas was a better show, I'd invest my money in Denver Carrington under Blake Carrington over Ewing Oil under J.R. Ewing in a heartbeat. J.R. was undoubtedly the better tactician between the two. But, that was only because he was abjectly incompetent on a strategic level that he had to be. The guy could do deals very well. But, a successful company isn't one that has to rely on pulling off some spectacular deal. It's one that executes consistently ion a long-term strategy to generate return. On that ground J.R. was noticeably lacking. The guy couldn't see past the next scheme, clever intrigue or deal to take his company anywhere other than the next round of "either we'll make a killing or we'll go bankrupt". Sure it's exciting. But, as an investor, I don't like exciting. A nice solid (well) above-average return, consistently realized, is going to let me sleep well at night and is going to make me a hell of a lot richer than waiting around for the one make-or-break business deal that didn't work out.

I love JR, but he took to many risks that could have easily back fired.

    Here are a few:

    1. Mortgaging EO and SF to get those Asian oil leases......He ended up hitting but it was close

    2. Using Ewing Oil as collateral to buy the oil from Clayton's refinery.

    3. Nearly depleting Ewing oil reserves during the battle for Ewing oil

    4. Losing Ewing Oil after the BD Calhoun debacle.

Blake was shroud and ruthless when he had to be. J.R. needed Jock or Bobby there to keep him in check.

JR actually LOST a ton of battles. he lost Ewing Oil, he lost Southfork. i love JR's character (best character in TV history as far as I'm concerned) but he wasn't the winner a lot of people make him out to be.

JR was a lot more fun to watch! So I voted JR
Blake's "empire" might have been bigger to begin with but he occasionally lost huge in business too.

Are you kidding, J.R. would have kicked old Blakes ass by just saying "well now is that a fact!"

Blake was quite ruthless in S1 of DYNASTY, but later overly softened. JR was the more interesting character, because he mostly retained his edge.

That said, Blake was a far less reckless business person.

In a physical fight...Blake. Business wise, J.R. Remember...After the 1st season every two bit businessman who breezed thru Denver was slapping Blake around.

JR was the best business man, and Blake was the best (not perfect, but adequate for this thread) family man.
Sable Colby: Hello, Alexis. Glad to see you've uh... sobered up.
Alexis: And now my hangover's arrived.
