Sci Fi channel has been running a TZmarathon all day Sunday and will go up until 6pm ET Monday for anyone interested.

Not trying to sway anyone off of our forum's passion, Dallas or to change the subject at hand but I thought some might like to know.

The episode which just came on, at 1am ET, "On Thursday We Leave for Home", is a brilliant piece of television writing by Rode Serling and exemplifies what made this the greatest show in the history of television, IMO.

Also, TV fans of the '70s will recognize a young James Broderick (the dad on Family and the real-life father of Matthew from Ferris Bueller) in this episode.

Anyway, if there are any Zone fans out there, enjoy!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program....

And look for the episode "Caeser and Me" with a 9 or 10 year old Sussanne Cupito--- who grew up to be Morgan Brittany.
She's HYSTERICAL because, minus the hats and the blue blousse, the looks and acts exactly the same way as she did on "Dallas" 20+ years later... the wincing, the quips, the delivery, the bitch-o-rama...
She was really a very good child actress!

Morgan Brittany was also in the movie "Yours, Mine and Ours" with Henry Fonda & Lucille Ball. She played an interesting role in the movie and in fact brings Fonda & Ball together to date. It was also well acted.

You know, I'd completely forgotten about Suzanne Cupito/Morgan Brittany being in the Zone. I'm not sure if they showed Caesar and Me this time around. She was the evil little girl who ratted out Jackie Cooper and who later teamed up with the crooked dummy at the end of the episode. I thought Suzanne's acting was quite good in this ep but, frankly, I found the dummy to be somewhat wooden in his role.

You know, it's funny but the only three things I can recall seeing Suzanne/Morgan in she was rather rotten. Besides Dallas and TZ, I also saw her in one of the later Andy Griffith Show episodes (one of the color ones). In this ep, Opie really liked this girl from school (Suzanne) and asked her to a party. After she'd accepted his offer, a more-popular (dreamy is the word I think she used) kid named Fred--who was cosntantly combing his hair---asked her. So, she makes up a lie to Opie that Fred had asked her first and so she breaks it off with Opie. Poor ol' Opie is crest-fallen, but he puts on a happy face and gets her back at the party when Fred blows her off.

Even back then it seems she was obsessed with men who were out of her league. LOL.

For anyone interested, Morgan makes frequent appearances at this huge Zone convention they have every summer out in LA. Wish I could afford to go out there.

Anyway, the actor who played Matt Cantrell---I forgot his name at the moment---Mark Singer I think---was recently in Detroit at the Motor City Comic Con. I would've stopped by to say hello to him but I'd actually never even heard of Matt Cantrell when they had this convention (back in May) so I had no idea who he was. hah!

The Twilight Zone was classic television. One of the best Sci-Fi series ever and you get a chance to see actors who went on to bigger things.

Did anyone ever watch the new version of the Twilight Zone that was on last year? It didn't last pretty long, but I thought it was still interesting.

I have to admit a bias against most remakes (with few exceptions). Especially cold-war stuff like the original "TW" from the early 60s--- they just cant reproduce the creepy atmosphere...

(It's why I bought them up on DVD first thing!)

Joe, yes Zone does air regularly on Sci Fi---if you can call this a "regular" schedule. It sounds as predictable as Michigan weather, I'm afraid.

Mondays it's on from 5-6 am.

    Tue-Thu at 130 am.

Certain Mondays it also runs from 8am-12 noon.

Occasionally, it's also shown on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Just set your watch for the appropriate days/times, I guess.

You can also go on www.scifi.com and click on schedules if there's a particular ep. you're looking for.

Now then, that new Zone was passable and they had some interesting ideas there, but the show was nowhere near in the class as the original Zone. (same with the one from 1985 which aired on Friday nights at 8pm before Dallas) A few of recent series' episodes were remakes from the original series, including one where Billy Mumy returned as an adult to recreate his role of Anthony Fremont, that mean kid who could wish people into the cornfield (and other fun kids' stuff) if they did something to piss him off.

I think the writing, acting, musical score, plus the brilliant b/w was waht made the show a classic. That, plus you do get to see MANY great actors before they moved on to bigger things.
