Oil Baron's Ball

This may have been asked and answered before but I've just discovered this website and I have a question. For those of you who live in the Dallas area, is there really an Oil Baron's Ball every year or was this something the creators came up with? Also, did the room seem to be not as grand as the one last season?

I don't live in Dallas.....but.......a few hours down the road.

We have our local Cattle Barons Ball ...........and...........all the professional societies related to the petroleum industry have yearly conventions. The Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners have their yearly event too.

All of these groups.......in conjunction to their conventions have big dances as social events.

One I know of .............chooses a top Independent Producer ..........and.....they give him or her .......their Roughneck of The Year Award.
