on today's episode of dynasty, sammy jo reece-carring (heather locklear) was looking through her morning papers - the new york post, and an enquirer newspaper. on the top of the enquirer, it said steven carrington - alive. (this is her thought to be deceased husband.) if you look closely, there is a picture of the cast of dallas on this enquirer. it stated a headline like, "what you will see on friday." this dynasty episode originally aired on march 16th, 1983. i wonder if this had anything to do with the upcoming "who shot j.r" episode which was to air two months later?

i guess the dynasty writers are fans of dallas.

I dont think the Scandal sheet headline or picture would have had anything to do with the Who Shot JR storyline. JR was shot in the spring of 1980 and his assailant was revlealed the following November, a couple years before this Dynasty episode first aired. This episode of Dynasty was aired in March 1983 , but was probably taped earlier.

In any case, this episode of Dynasty would have aired the same week as the Dallas episode "Hell Hath No Fury" which aired on March 18, 1983. I think this was where Sue Ellen finds JR in bed with Holly Harwood, but Im not poitive. This was getting really close to the fire at Southfork, which was the 1982-83 season finale. (and isnt it funny that Dynasty ended with Alexis and Krystle being trapped in a burning cabin that very same season)
