Here is what it said about each star featured in the order printed!!!!

    VICTORIA PRINCIPLE

Victoria Principle,52 played Pamela Barnes Ewing, Bobby's wife in Dallas from 1978 - 1987.

The Twin forces that drove Dallas were wickedness and sex. And Victoria Principle who played the usually scantily clad Pam Ewing. provided the latter. 'Television had never seen a married couple that hot. Pam and Bobby(Patrick Duffy) really liked to have sex, says Victoria. Even at her audidtion, Duffy knew she was the perfect actress to play Pam. 'I asked him how he knew and he said: ''Because your jeans were so tight''.
But as time went on, the producers wanted Victoria to wear less and less, which angered her. 'So it was negotiated into my contract how many times a year I would be seen in a bathing costume or lingerie, because I felt they were abusing me ,' she says.
During most of her 9 year run, Victoria stayed in the same hotel as the crew, rather than the luxery hotel used by the Cast, and became close to Charlene Tilton, who was 17 when she got the part of Lucy Ewing. 'There were many nights when she slept at the end of my bed because she'd never been away from home before. I'd only stay up and play Backgammon with her if she got me a margarita fromt he hotel bar, as I didn't want to be recognised going myself.'
Her working conditions proved less amendable. In her first episode, Victoria had to ive into a frozen lake. 'One of the stuntmen gave me a shot of rye whiskey beforehand and I got thoroughly drunk. Patrick and I had to kiss and we almost had to be broken apart because my lip gloss froze to his lips.'
Victoria admits her private life became over-whelmed by her fame, ' I was staying in London once and wantet to go to Paris for a few days. 'The French Ministry of Transport asked me not to come because they were having a Lorry strike and couldn't afford the hundereds of extra policemen they would need if I landed in France.'
In 1985 she married cosmetic Surgeon Dr Harry Glassman and left the series 2 years later because she was upset about the storylines. 'I never watched it after I left because I wanted to have the memory of the way it was, she recalls'.
She went on to set up her own Film production company, appeared in films such as Mistress, Blind Witness and Dancing in the Dark, founded a direct sales skincare company and wrote Beauty Books.
She refuses to say if her husband has practised his cosmetic enhancement skills on her and attributes her amazing looks to: 'Working hard and doing the things I love:'I looked for the love of my life and was lucky enough to find him.'

    LINDA GRAY

Linda Grey, 59 appeared as Sue Ellen Ewing, J.R's wife in Dallas from 1978 to 1989.

Linda's first scene with Larry Hagman(J.R) was a disaster.'Sue Ellen had on this sexy black lingerie and they got into a fight. When we got back to Larry's truck he said: 'You were awful.'There's no chemistry between us and hey're gonna fire you.'' I felt so depressed and I still had to go back and do my close ups,I thought it was the end of my career. But then I decided to prove to him I was good.' In fact Hagman was the only cast member who had impressed her -- she had found the rest all very 'singular'. 'He was very over the top and I thought: 'This eccentric wacko is going to be my husband, to belong to me, Lucky me.''This maic started then.
;Larry, a Texan, had a converted bakery delivery truck and he would drive us around the sights of Texas with Dolly Parton blaring out over the speakers. 'Then we'd go back to his hotel room and he'd have the bathtub filled with ice and bottles of champagne. We' sit on the floor and figure out how we could make the series better.'
Practical jokes soon become a way of life for the cast.,Somebody on the set said I should eat an onion before I kissed him, He could'nt flinch because the camera was in close. And then on my close- up, he'd eaten peanut butter. The wonderful humour broke the seriousness.'
The hospital bed scenes with the ailing patient Painted and powdered, were legendary. One series ended with Sue Ellen close to death and Jr and Bobby were sobbering by her bedside.'I could feel the camera pushing in tight over poor Sue Ellen's face. JR looked at Bobby and said ''Do you think it would help if we sang a song?'' And it was a dirty limerick. This wasn't in the dialogue. I was trying not to laugh, but couldn't help it and the tube popped out of my nose, I could have killed them both'.
Linda who was notoriously private, found herself forever bein questioned about the infamous 'Who shot JR?' plot,'I was in Fiji snorkelling with my children, Jeff and Kehly(now aged 37 and 35) and as I came out of the water some lady came up to me and asked 'Who shot JR'?
When Linda divorced her husband, an art director Ed Thrasher, there was speculation that she was having an affair with Hagman, but she denies this,'Larry and his wife Marj were hugely supportive. They had me to dinner and I cried and cried and they nurtured me through it.' Linda left Dallas when her contract expired and even now has trouble getting roles as she's so recognisable from her Dallas days.

    PATRICK DUFFY

Patrick Duffy, 53 had the part of Bobby Ewing, JR's brother in Dallas from 1978 - 85 and from 1986 - 91.

Patrick's on-screen love scenes may have made himt he envy of all male Dallas fans, but his acting skills didn't always impress his wife, former ballet dancer Carlyn.
'We were watching an episode when I was making love with Pammy and my wife was looking really sad. I asked what the matter was and she said: 'I thought you only did that with me.''
'We've been together since 1972 and I cant imagine not being married to her. In fact most of the cast of Dallas were happily married, 'he says. 'We did our best work quickly and wanted to get home. We did one episode in 4 days once and were told we shouldn't work so fast or they'd wonder why they were paying us so much.'
When his contract came to a end in 1985,Patrick left the show.'I did commercials and a couple of movies, but it wasn't anywhere as good as out there on Dallas. Then Larry Hagman asked me over for a drink one evening and I said to my wife ''They're gonna ask me to come back,''and she said: ''You cant unless that whole year was a dream.''We laughed, but that was how they explained my absense from the show.'
After Dallas,Patrick spent 7 years in TV show Step by Step, and recently appeared in West End play Art -- 'Artistically the high point is my whole career,'Unfortunately,in 1986 his paents were brutally murdered in their home in Montana.
'I came from a family that were close to the poverty line and the early years with my wife and first son were hand to mouth, Without Dallas, I'd have been less rich in other ways if I hadn't known Larry and Linda and all those people.'

    CHARLENE TILTON

    Charlene Tilton, 43 played Lucy Ewing, JR's niece in Dallas from 1978 - 85 and from 1988 - 1990.

Charlene's career had begunso promisingly, At 17 she found out about the Dallas role from a casting magazine, but producers refused to audition heruntil she wore them down and they finally gave in.'My audition was at 5pm. I got there at 1pm, when they were at lunch, and stole a script. I worked on it with my acting coach, then came back and got the part.'
At the height of her career, Charlene was said to be earning about 20,000 pounds an episode and once attracted so many thousands of adoring fans to a shopping mall in South Africa that the second floor collapsed. Even getting pregnant in 1982 didn't stop her acting career and she returned to work when her baby daughter Cherish was just 4 days old.
However Charlene was sacked in 1985, but returned when the producers were pressurised by the cast and fans into having her back. Life was different post Dallas. A couple of years after the series finished, she was eking out an existence on 200 pounds a week.
Now, Charlene refuses to talk about her financial matters,'Thats personal, 'she says. She was forced to sell her house in Los Angeles to pay her dying mother's medical bills and was swindled out of fortune by crooked business advisers. Her love life has been similarly chaotic. She married singer Johnny Lee,the father of Cherish(now 19), in 1982 but left him after he physically abused her. Her secons marriage, in 1985, to Scottish singer songwriter Domenick Allen also ended in divorce. In 1990, she appeared in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guilford, earning 150 pounds a week, but spending far more on hotels and nannies.
There is note of meloncholy when asked if she ever see's her friends from Dallas. 'You can go a long stretch without seeing each other, 'she says'But then you pick up right where you left off.'

    LARRY HAGMAN

Larry Hagman, 71 had the starring role of JR Ewing in Dallas from 1978 - 1991.

Time magazine once dubbed Larry Hagman ' a human oil slick', but his Machiavellian ways as JR, Ewing were not originally intended as the heart of Dallas.'JR and Sue Ellen were inthe background. Patrick Duffy(Bobby) and Victoria(Pamela) were doing a scene and Linda who played my wife, Sue Ellen, and I were told to make it look like we were talking. I made up stuff like 'Sue Ellen, I put this shirt out and there's a button missing. What the hell's going on?''They filmed all this in case they had to cut to something and the producer said''Thats pretty good Keep going.'' They started topick up the character of JR and the vernacualr of Texas.'
During the whole 'Who shot JR.?' storyline, Hagman met the Queen Mother,'She siad: ''Oh, JR, I dont suppose you could tell me who shot you?'' I said': No Ma'am, not even for you.'' And the nastier JR became, the more his female fans loved him. 'I was opening a store and came back to my motel and there was a woman inmy bed with a bottle of Dom Perignon. She said ''My husbands away for the weekend. I thought we might have a little fun, JR''I had ta glass of champagne with her but that was it.'
Hagamn has been married to his swedish wife Maj for 48 years. 'People ask her how she keeps her marriage going and she says ''2 Bathrooms''.'In 995, he had a liver transplant after being diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver. Was he often inebriated during making Dallas? 'Mildly, he replies. 'I drank 4 or 5 bottles of champagne a day,but I was never drunk, obstreperous or forgot my lines.'
Larry's still close to Patrick Duffy. 'We go hunting and fishing 3 or 4 times a year'. He was in London for Linda Gray's first night as Mrs Robinson in the West End stage production of The Graduate. 'She had 20 seconds of being stark naked on stage. It was a sight to behold. I think I said:'My God, its taken me 25 years to see that woman naked.''

Thanks for typing all of that EwingBarnes! As I am reading this forum at about 11.30pm, I'll probably not be able to get a copy of today's Daily Mail. I appreciate your efforts and it made worthwhile reading!

Thanks for all that typing, EB - above and beyond the call of duty!

It's odd that Victioria Principal is quoted as saying Bobby and Pam were such a hot, sexy couple - I can only recall one post-coital 'nude' (i.e. bed) scene between them, and that was in the ninth season after their re-engagement.

They were hardly ripping each other clothes off all the time - Pam was frigid in Season 2 and nuts in season 4; Bobby neglected her for business in Seasons 3 and 5; was dead in season 8; and they were estranged in Seasons 6 and 7! And then, after they finally remarried, Pam admitted that every time they did the wild thing, she couldn't get into it cos she was picturing him with Jenna!!

I always got the impression that Pam had a lustier time with Mark. Donna and Ray seemed to have the healthiest sex life of all the Dallas couples, but I remeber seeing JR and Sue Ellen slobbering over each other always seemed a bit creepy to me as a child. But not as much as when Clayton suggested to Ellie that they try for a baby at the end of the ninth season - that one still brings me out in a cold sweat!
