I am new the board, so I just had to let you all know. I was watching E.T. tonight, and they had a story about some party in the islands on. Patrick was one of the people they interviewed, and he said, I quote, "Larry and I are working on the script for a reunion, and we are shopping it around the networks. If no one minds having two over-the-hill actors on t.v., it is a go." Just wanted to let you all know. Take it easy.

Thanks for the wonderful news Hawkman! However, why aren't they going straight to CBS? Also, I hope they will have professional writers to help them, as they tend to go for scripts that favor theirselves.

Richard Avery: "How do you fit into all of this?"
Jill Bennet: "I, ah, see Gary Ewing."
Richard Avery: "Your certainly in good company. I think my ex-wife is the only one in this town who didn't see Gary Ewing. Then she's dead, so I'll never really know for sure."

It might be much harder to get it done at CBS. The last reunion did not do well, and if becomes what we all want it to be, I just don't think CBS will shell out that kind if money to do it. But, This is the chance for NBc and ABC to jump on the bandwagon and get back as many stars as possible. Let us all keep our fingers crossed.

Good news reunion wise but not so great that Patrick and Larry are writing it.

I just can see this being like a spoof, rather like those awful late seasons. I have a fear they will go for the comedy aspect initailly and a good plot will be on the backburner.

Some station will definately snap up the idea and tweak the script but I do have reservations.

But at the end of the day I could be completely wrong.

I think they should really think this reunion through very hard and put a lot of money into it. I think this should be the very last one and bring back all the stars, well as many as they can like BBG and VP. Miss. Ellie could come home to Southfork to die. But before that the whole family could be all together again at the Southfork table like Pam and Bobby, JR and Sue Ellen. They should all live happily ever after. JR gets Ewing Oil, the one thing he has been fighting for all his life. Bobby gets Pam back. They should even have Gary and Val in it as well. They come for Miss. Ellie's funeral. That's why a lot of them come back. I think if they did this then it would be really good.

I'm not at all optimistic about a script written by Patrick and Larry, particularly about it featuring Pam and a Pam and Bobby reunion, which is the one storyline any final reunion is crying out for.

Does anyone know if PD has ever given his opinion about the way Pam was written out and whether he thinks it is possible/would like to see Pam come back in a reunion and for Pam and Bobby to be together.

I know LH's line is that Pam died in the car crash. I sure Larry knows how enormously popular a Pam and Bobby reunion would be. It would be the main story and so would be the last thing he would want to write into the script.

"I never stopped loving you and I never will". Bobby Ewing to Pam Ewing 1985.

I dont think any of us know the ability Patrick and Larry have. It may rubbish, it maybe fantastic. It should not only be a reunion of "Dallas" but an actual reunion of "Dallas actors". I actually watched "War Of The Ewings" again this evening and realised how bad it was. It was very slow, dull and too many gaps without speech. It also had so few stars. It needed Cliff Barnes and the kids. I actually enjoyed "JR Returns" a lot despite many people not liking it but WOTE was useless to me. All thats was good was the start and end with the theme tune.

"Dallas" needs shocks and surprises. Getting Pamela to return somehow could be the best way of a surprise. Then all the family having a huge get together. Having BBG and HK return, even if just for a few minutes.

Next year, its the 25th anniversary, its the biggest year so there should be a lot of tributes to "Dallas" and persuasion for former stars to return.

The humour is fantastic in Dallas. But for a serious issue, maybe there should be a courtcase this time as part of the story. Maybe even trying to work in most of the season endings into one show with extra originilaity could be an idea. Something to keep the whole show exciting.

Lets hope a show at all goes ahead. Im sure they know how bad WOTE was and how much they need to work on that.

Everything is based on the fact that whatever network picks it up, will they have the money to sign everybody back on. VP will want a hefty amount, as will BBG and the rest. All we can do is wait and see, and hope for the best. And, thank you all for the welcome.

I think it's awful the way some of the actors have turned their back on Dallas like Victoria Principal. I mean this was the show that made them all famous and they can't even return for one last reunion! And why do they want load of money anyway, they are all already loaded! I think it all boils down to greed. They wouldn't have all that money in the first place if it wasn't for Dallas.

I think Linda, Larry and Patrick have all been really good as they haven't turned their back on the show and are more than willing to do another reunion, probably even another series. I mean Larry and Patrick even paid for some of War of the Ewings themselves!

I agree with some of you, DALLAS fans: all the major cast members should be on the sequel#3 but I´m afraid VP must be SOOOOOOO reluctant after the TITANS affair!!!! ("Never do another trashy soap again!!! I promise over Cher´s surgerian´s grave!!")

I also understand some of you are afraid of the Duffy-Hagman comedy team: they almost spoiled the show in the late years with all that tongue-in-cheek jokes and it-must-be-a-nightmare lines!!!

Both of them could make another Step By Step episode out of this new sequel!!! Not even getting the old cast re-united could help a disaster (watch that first 8-Is-Enough sequel, if not!!! You ALWAYS need a good story!!)

But who else could ever make another sequel? The producers are dead, maybe call David Jacobs back and make him write a real original heart-warming very last episode (that´s an idea...)?

I'm sure CBS is done with Dallas, but someone like Fox may pick it up as they did with the MASH reunion special. The problem will be budget. Any network that picks it up after the ratings of the last one and bad word of mouth will keep the budget to a bare minimum which will keep them from getting back a lot of the stars unless they are willing to work it as a labor of love.

I agree with JA in that I just want to see it back in any form and would enjoy seeing the characters again any way possible. My wish is that they would do sort of a sum up final episode type of thing to resolve the issues and settle the characters once and for all, perhaps setting up a next generation type thing, but I don't think that will happen under the circumstances.

COOL A Dallas reunion !!! I hope that either CBS or NBC could do it like they have All My Children , Days of Our Lives , Guiding light so maybe if they decide to do the Dallas Reunion it could be back on TV anything to see Patrick Duffy is well worth it I just love that man

My guess is it would end up on ABC, if they're smart. They own Soapnet, and if they see the great (what I hear) ratings they get on it, then they'd be smart to AT LEAST pick up the reunion for the mothership.

You know, as neat as it is to entertain the idea of VP being on a reunion and thus reuniting Bobby and Pam, it really wouldn't be feasible in just one reunion movie. Explaining 17 years of separation with a happy wedding at the end would be impossible to do in a two hour episode. Really, getting BBG and HK to make an appearance, even if it was brief, would be really cool. How about an reunion between JR and Sue Ellen? JR can reclaim Ewing Oil, John Ross can go to work with him and learn the ropes...there are romantic always possibilities for Bobby. Heck, bring Holly Harwood back! (j/k)
