Alexis Bledel could still be Fallon

From what I've seen so far, Alexis Bledel is one of the top contenders around here for the role of New Fallon, but it seemed unlikely she'd have time to do it thanks to the new Gilmore Girls show.

However, the new Gilmore Girls has all been filmed and aired on Netflix... and its been a disaster. Its suffered negative reviews, and everybody seems to hate how the character of Rory Gilmore has turned out.

Its quite possible that a second season won't be picked up - not unless TPTB will make a desperate attempt to win back the crowd. Either way, I have renewed hope that Alexis Bledel could end up playing Fallon... the only possible downside would be that people might now react negatively towards Bledel thanks to what's happened to Rory, which might affect New DYNASTY, but... just gotta wait and see. X)

From what I know about Bladel and the type of actress she is, I just don't think she would be interested in playing Fallon in a DYNASTY remake. And we still have no idea of what type of show this reboot is going to be. She might think it's beneath her. The Gilmore Girls had a solid following and it was well received. Well, the original was, it was kind of a cult show. It wasn't a soap opera and it wasn't anything like DYNASTY. I would be majorly surprised if she even considered doing a remake of DYNASTY produced by the people who created The OC and Gossip Girl. That's just so not her.

Don't get me wrong she's always been a top choice for me too. But who knows what type of direction it could all go in?

Ah, good points. Well, I just have my heart set on an actress for Fallon that looks and acts like PSM. I'm okay with the other new actors only vaguely resembling and acting like the originals, but Fallon... she's just gotta look and act a certain way, y'know? It was the same way with Emma Samms; once season 9 came around she was looking and acting more like PSM (only with much bigger boobs ;)lol), and she became much easier to deal with. :)

Also, another bit of new news I came across: there's going to be another new show on CW: "Riverdale", based off the Archie comics. ^^ Its going to be a "darker and edgier" teen drama, with the premise being that Riverdale is a perfect-seeming small town that has its share of dark secrets. I'm bringing this up because from what I've seen and heard of the CW so far, its been mainly sci fi/super hero shows, and we were all wondering earlier which show New Dynasty would get paired up with. My guess is that Riverdale is going to be its partner.

I could have sworn that there was already a pilot shot for Riverdale and it didn't get picked up? I think I read something last year? Or it has been attempted before but networks turned it down?

I read the pilot is going to air Jan 26, 2017. There's even been a teaser trailer for it:

I think she's too old to play Fallon. I have a feeling the new Fallon won't be older than 25.

I am loving the new Gilmore Girls show btw, have seen 3 episodes so far. Rory isn't 16 anymore...are people forgetting this? Oh the poor writers, I had no clue they have received such negative criticism.

Maybe, but Bledel has such a baby-ish face she could still pass for 20-something. After all, PSM was older than Fallon was when the original show started. Course maybe they should get a 20-something to play a 20-something.

Oh no, its not that people haven't forgotten that Rory isn't 16 anymore, that's not it at all... well, I won't say anything else, since you've only seen 3 episodes. Maybe you'll realize why so many people are upset once you've seen the whole thing.

She'd definitely be great as bitchy new Fallon and it's true, she does look really young still.

Yes, her work in "Sin City" made me believe she'd make a good Fallon. :)

Well I had been talking to a friend of mine who is a big Gilmore Girls fan and she also said she loved the new show. It's been ten years and she thinks the writing showed the natural progression of people over that time period. She was also baffled to hear that some people didn't like it.
Has it really been slammed? Or is it just a very small minority of fans complaining?

From what I've heard, people are mad over Rory's development, that she's presumably become self-entitled and is doing all the wrong things with her career, and she once again had an affair with a guy who was already involved.

Sounds to me like Rory grew up and her life wasn't perfect. Like what happens to so many of us, but I have yet to watch it.

This article makes the argument that Rory could be a sociopath: http://decider.com/2016/11/29/rory-gilmore-sociopath/ It contains MAJOR spoilers, but it does make a case for why so many people have been put off by Rory.

Sorry for being off topic once again but I wanted to let you know that I have just seen episode 4 'Fall' and I am still very happy with the continuation. I like it that smart and perfect Rory is having trouble making a career and finding love. I don't mind that she's having an affair with a soon to be married guy and I guess she is pregnant with Logan's child.
I don't understand the negative criticism at all and I hope there will be more episodes. :)

Sounds like the complainers wanted a fanfiction where everything was at it was ten years ago.

    (*SPOILER ALERT*)

Well this isn't the first time she's had an affair with a married guy. And what's more, she already has a boyfriend - a boyfriend who's perfectly nice in just about every possible way (both to her and her family), and yet she cheats on him several times and continuously forgets about him, to the point where she never breaks up with him because she "simply forgets to."

Not only that, but her having trouble with her career wouldn't be that hard to swallow if she were still in her early 20s. But she's in her early 30s. She's supposed to have been on her own for 10 years, and therefore it would make sense if she were more experienced and savvy, and yet she's still self-entitled: she shows up for a job interview with no preparation and yet she expects to be given the job anyway - and it wasn't even a job she was interested in! And after she was given the boot, Rory insults the interviewer.

These are the troubles/actions a newly independent, inexperienced 20-something would have. Not a 32-year-old who's spent a decade away from home and living in New York. In other words, someone who should know better.

Its Rory's immaturity and lack of empathy that has got people screaming foul.
