Funny as I just watched something else about Rowena Wallace being broke and being thrown out of her retirement home and apparently Cornelia Francis is also broke and everyone on a Country Practice.

No wonder Kate Richie returned to Home and Away, she may have literally ended up living in a Caravan if that's what happens to Australian soap stars.

They need to being back Sons and Daughters so these actors can eat. :D

Looking forward to next season and especially how Cliff and Ryland will come back into the fold, as we know they will.
So an idea come to mind today. When Dallas returns we'll see Ryland wiggling is way out of jail only to find that Emma sprung Grandma from the nursing home. Now she is back in control of Ryland Transport and tosses him out on his butt.
So now he has to find a way to fight his legal battles and his mother for control of his company. He uses his connections with the Mexican Cartel to brake Cliff out of jail. Now Cliff must flee Mexico and most likely the US, probably to hide in Europe. Even though Cliff has lost control of Barnes Global, he is sure to have money put away in secret accounts. So from hiding Cliff works on his revenge against the Ewings and his daughter and of course helping Ryland would help him.
Of course these are just thoughts I had. Either way I think we are going to see a both men wanting revenge against their daughters and more fights with the Ewings.
Can't wait for season 3! :)

Why did they do a slightly different theme variation in ep 1 of season 13?

I just bought the DVD and the theme sounds very hard to listen to during the shots and the show logo, then the background (violins) which you can sligtly hear the rest of the season start up at the explosion at the water, and into Barbara Bel Geddes, Patrick Duffy, and Kimberly Forster's credit, then when we get to Larry Hagman, it's back to the classic tune without the violins. The end credits for episode 1 also use those violins at the same point of the beginning of the closing them.

Then by ep 2 the drowned out first few seconds are made clear again and the violins are very slightly heard if you listen hard enough but you can hear them best during Babara Bel Geddes' credit the rest of the season which made the theme only sound a little different in that spot for episoes 2-27.

Why did they do that for ep 1? Did they test it out and thought it was awful? I think it was okay, but the theme at the beginning was drowed out, then by the loud violins playing for at least 10 secs, it sounded like a different theme song.

Chapter 1

JR and Sue Ellen had, had a long hard marriage with each other. JR and Sue Ellen had divorced over eight years ago, and Sue Ellen had moved herself and a 17 year old John Ross to London with her new husband, Don Lockwood. Don had promised that he would help Sue Ellen forget the pain and hurt that she left behind in Dallas, and had promised to never make her experience that kind of pain again. Sue Ellen had made the mistake to sell her idea for a movie based on her life with JR and all the pain and sorrow he dealt out to her.

John Ross was about to start his senior year of high school when Don turned into the monster that Sue Ellen never saw coming. Sue Ellen knew she had no way out of this now torturous marriage, Don had her by a leash ever since she handed the rights to her movie idea over to him. At first when she wrote it she wanted it to be released, just to hurt JR, but she had talked herself out of it, but she hadn't been able to talk Don out of it. Sue Ellen got home late one evening because she had taken John Ross out to dinner and to a movie to celebrate his last, first day of high school. When the walked in Don was furious that Sue Ellen wasn't home when he arrived from the office. "John Ross get to your room....NOW!" Don shouted. John Ross hugged his Mom, "Yell if you need me. Please." John Ross knew that Don had hit his mother but didn't know the severity of it. John Ross turned and went up to his room and shut the door.

Don turned to Sue Ellen, "Where the hell are you coming in so late?" Sue Ellen walked toward the kitchen and sat her purse on the counter, "I told you yesterday that I was going to take John Ross out for dinner to celebrate his first day of school." Don stood in front of her to keep her from walking away, "I expected that you were taking him directly after school and would be here when I got home. I told you I wanted you here when I got home." Sue Ellen glared at him, "And I told you I had made plans with my son!" as soon as the words left her lips Don slapped her across the face. Sue Ellen put her hand on her face, and a welt was already forming. She turned and went the other way taking her jacket off. "I'll be in the shower." she went up stairs before Don could say another word.

Sue Ellen had made it to the shower and was finishing when Don barged in, "We need to talk." Sue Ellen rolled her eyes, "After what happened down stairs I feel no need to talk to you. I'm finishing my shower and going to bed...in the guestroom." Don slammed his hand down on the bathroom counter, "I'll be damned if my wife sleeps in the guestroom!" Sue Ellen was trying not to laugh, "Well than you can just be damned because that's where I'm going." she grabbed a towel and wrapped around herself before she got out. "I refuse to sleep with a man that just hit me for the fourth time in two weeks so you can get over it." Don grabbed her arms, "You are my wife and you will get in our bed and do as I say." Sue Ellen pulled her arm away from him, "If this hasn't been discussed before I do not take orders from you, or anyone else. I did it for too many years with JR. I married you thinking that this was love, not that I was entering a controlling marriage once again." she grabbed her clothes and walked down the hall to the guestroom to change and go to bed.

Sue Ellen had been gone for nearly an hour and had drifted off to sleep. Don grabbed her and shoved her down on the bed. "Don get off me!" Don laughed, "I told you, you would do what I say." Sue Ellen screamed. "I said no!" Don slapped her and continued to violate her. John Ross had heard his mother scream but knew that if he tried to intervene, Don would just make their lives a living hell, well worse than they were already.

Once Don had taken Sue Ellen against her will, Sue Ellen curled up in a ball and pulled the comforter up around her. Don got up and dressed himself, "You got what you wanted." Sue Ellen just laid crying, she closed her eyes and refused to look up at him. Don just shook his head and walked back across the hall to his room.

The next morning Don was down stairs when John Ross came down for breakfast before school. "Where's Mom?" Don glared across the kitchen counter at him, "She is sleeping. Don't bother her." Don said before grabbing his briefcase and storming out of the house. Sue Ellen came down stairs once Don was gone. "Mom, are you okay?" John Ross could tell Sue Ellen hadn't slept at all and the place when Don had slapped her the night before was still red and a little swollen. "I'm fine honey, I just didn't sleep well." she kissed John Ross' head. "Mom did he hit you?" Sue Ellen wouldn't say anything, "Honey you better hurry and eat. You're going to be late and then they won't let you play today." Sue Ellen was referring to John Ross' first soccer game of the season. "Are you still coming this afternoon?" She smiled, "I wouldn't miss it for anything. Now get going." John Ross kissed his Mom and left for school.

After John Ross had left for school Sue Ellen sat and thought about where she had gone wrong with Don. She had completely misjudged the man she thought he was. Once she made the thoughts of the night before stop she went up and ran herself a bath to get ready for the day.

Most people seem ambivalent about the unconvincing casting of Geoffrey Scott in the role of Krystle's ex, Mark Jennings. He was a so-so actor and it was almost impossible to believe that they were ever a couple, even in a bygone era.

And some of us -- myself included -- were never that wild about Alexis and Dex as a couple (I wanted her paired off with somebody either more elegant, or more legitimately macho than Dex) although I didn't dislike Michael Nader that much.

Would Nader have been a more plausible Mark Jennings? I could see their dreadful 1972 flashbacks as much less dreadful with Nader in the part (and with more of an attempt to recreate 1972 era hair and clothes --- which didn't happen).

The most effective way to force change in American society is outright bans. One of the most dire situations our world is facing is global warming, which is a real threat. The Oklahoma tornadoes, horrible winter the Midwest faced this year, Hurricane Sandy are all evidence of this. AND PEOPLE ARE THE #1 CAUSE. People continue to drive around in gas-guzzling SUVs that emit dangerous carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. That causes global warming. Global warming causes superstorms, species to go extinct and people to suffer.

Those who do not agree with this, those who even drive non-electric/hybrid cars...blood is on YOUR hands every time someone dies in a severe storm, since the severe storm was made worse by global warming, and global warming is created by YOU.

Actor Steve Forrest, whose leading role as Lt. Hondo Harrelson of ABC-TV's "S.W.A.T." made him a household name in the 1970's, died peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, May 18th, 2013 in Thousand Oaks, California. He was 87.

Born William Forrest Andrews on September 25th, 1925 in Huntsville, Texas to Annis and Charles Andrews (a Baptist minister), Forrest was the youngest of 13 children.

At age 18 he enlisted in the military and served with the U.S. Army attaining the rank of Sergeant during World War II, where he fought in the historic Battle of the Bulge. At the end of the war, Forrest continued in the Army Reserve and moved to Los Angeles to pursue his college career. In 1946, while attending UCLA, he would meet his life-long love, Christine Carilas. The two were married in 1948 and remained together for 65 years until his death.

Forrest graduated with honors from UCLA in 1950 with a Bachelor's degree in theater arts and went on to work as a stagehand at the renowned La Jolla Playhouse in southern California. It was there, during the summer stock production of "Goodbye Again", that he was discovered by Hollywood legend, Gregory Peck. Peck cast him in the production and later arranged for his first screen test with MGM, where he was placed under contract.

In 1953, Forrest garnered the New Star of the Year, Golden Globe Award for his performance in the Warner Bros. film "So Big" playing opposite Jane Wyman and Sterling Hayden. Throughout the 1950's, Forrest landed roles on both the large and small screens, frequently cast on classic early television series including "Playhouse 90," "Climax! Theater," "Lux Video Theater" and "Alfred Hitchcock Presents."

His early films included roles as a P.O.W. opposite Ronald Reagan in MGM's "Prisoner of War" (1954), Robert Taylor's younger brother in "Rogue Cop" (1954), Doris Day's would-be suitor in "It Happened to Jane" (1959), Elvis Presley's half brother in the 20th Century Fox western "Flaming Star" (1960), Sophia Loren's gun slinging love interest in Paramount's "Heller in Pink Tights" (1960), and with John Wayne and an all star cast in "The Longest Day" (1962). Later, film and television appearances included "North Dallas Forty" (1979), "Mommie Dearest" (1981) with Faye Dunaway, "Spies Like Us" (1985) with Chevy Chase and Dan Akroyd, the TV miniseries "Hollywood Wives" (1985), a season on CBS-TV's "Dallas" (1985), "Storyville" (1992) with James Spader and "Killer: A Journal of Murder" (1995) with James Woods.

A trained vocalist, Forrest made his Broadway debut as budding prizefighter, Bob Stanton in the 1958 production of "The Body Beautiful" playing opposite Mindy Carson, Jack Warden and Brock Peters.

In 1965, under contract to BBC, Forrest relocated to London with his family to star as John Mannering, the international antique-dealer-***-secret-agent in the British crime drama, "The Baron." The program marked the first color series on British television.

In a career spanning more the 60 years, Forrest was frequently cast as a leading man or protagonist "heavy". An aficionado of the American western, Forrest delighted in roles that glorified the genre including guest starring appearances in such television classics as "The Virginian", "Bonanza" and "Gunsmoke" among many others.

But it was his role as the hard-hitting yet warm-hearted Lt. Hondo Harrelson that most endeared Forrest to the American audience. As the leader of the police department's five-man special weapons and tactics team, he was often seen with his bullhorn in hand, jumping into the large dark gray van shouting the signature line, "Let's roll!" As a salute to the show, Forrest appeared in a cameo role as the van driver in the film version of "S.W.A.T." (2003) with Samuel L. Jackson.

An avid and accomplished golfer, Forrest frequently played in charity tournaments around the world. In 1976, he competed on the American team at the Bing Crosby Great Britain vs. U.S.A. Tournament at the iconic Glen Eagles Course in Scotland. His performance on the greens so impressed Crosby he was heard to say "… Steve, you may have to give up your 'amateur' standing!"

Although devoted to his career, Forrest's greatest passion in life remained his family. He is survived by his wife, Christine; sons, Michael Andrews, Forrest Andrews (Lori) of Los Angeles, Stephen Andrews (Sally) of Napa Valley; and his grandchildren, Samantha, Emily, Aubrey and Alex Andrews.

'S.W.A.T.' Star Steve Forrest Dies at 87

5:25 PM PDT 5/22/2013 by Mike Barnes

A contract player at MGM in the 1950s, he also starred in such films as “The Longest Day” and “Spies Like Us” and in the BBC hit “The Baron.”

Steve Forrest, whose starred as Lt. Dan “Hondo” Harrelson on the 1970s ABC action series S.W.A.T., died peacefully surrounded by family on May 18 in Thousand Oaks, Calif. He was 87.

In a career spanning more the 60 years, Forrest frequently was cast as a leading man or “heavy.” An aficionado of the American Western, he delighted in roles that glorified the genre, including guest-starring appearances in such television classics as The Virginian, Bonanza and Gunsmoke.

But it was his role as the hard-hitting yet warmhearted Harrelson that most endeared Forrest to the American audience. As the leader of the police department’s five-man special weapons and tactics team, he often was seen with his bullhorn in hand, jumping into the large dark gray van shouting the signature line, “Let’s roll!”

As a salute to the show, Forrest appeared in a cameo role as the van driver in the film version of S.W.A.T. (2003) that starred Samuel L. Jackson.

Forrest was born William Forrest Andrews on Sept. 25, 1925, in Huntsville, Texas, to Annis and Charles Andrews, a Baptist minister. He was the youngest of 13 children.

At 18, Forrest enlisted in the military and served with the Army. He attained the rank of sergeant during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. At the end of the war, he moved to Los Angeles and attended UCLA.

Forrest graduated with honors from UCLA in 1950 with a bachelor’s degree in theater arts and went to work as a stagehand at the La Jolla Playhouse outside San Diego. It was there, during the summer stock production of Goodbye Again, that he was discovered by Hollywood legend Gregory Peck. The actor cast him in the production and arranged for his first screen test with MGM, where he was placed under contract.

In 1953, Forrest garnered a New Star of the Year award from the Golden Globes for his performance in the Warner Bros. film So Big, playing opposite Jane Wyman and Sterling Hayden. Throughout the ’50s, Forrest landed roles on both the large and small screens, frequently cast on such early TV series as Playhouse 90, Climax! Theater, Lux Video Theater and Alfred Hitchcock Presents.

His early films included roles as a P.O.W. opposite Ronald Reagan in MGM’s Prisoner of War (1954), as Robert Taylor’s younger brother in Rogue Cop (1954), as Doris Day’s would-be suitor in It Happened to Jane (1959), as Elvis Presley’s half brother in the Western Flaming Star (1960), as Sophia Loren’s gun-slinging love interest in Heller in Pink Tights (1960) and with John Wayne and an all-star cast in The Longest Day (1962).

Later film and television appearances included North Dallas Forty (1979), Mommie Dearest (1981) with Faye Dunaway, Spies Like Us (1985) with Chevy Chase and Dan Akroyd, the miniseries Hollywood Wives (1985), a season in the 1980s on TV’s Dallas, Storyville (1992) with James Spader and Killer: A Journal of Murder (1995) with James Woods.

A trained vocalist, Forrest made his Broadway debut as budding prizefighter Bob Stanton in the 1958 production of The Body Beautiful opposite Mindy Carson, Jack Warden and Brock Peters.

In 1965, under contract to the BBC, Forrest relocated to London with his family to star as John Mannering, the international antique dealer-***-secret agent in the British crime drama The Baron. The program was the first color series on British television.

An avid and accomplished golfer, Forrest frequently played in charity tournaments around the world. In 1976, he competed on the American team at the Bing Crosby Great Britain vs. U.S.A. Tournament at the Glen Eagles course in Scotland.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Christine, sons Michael, Forrest and Stephen and grandchildren Samantha, Emily, Aubrey and Alex.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Griffin Memorial Park in Westlake Village, Calif.

Complaint Accuses Exxon Mobil of Anti-Gay Bias
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

NEW YORK — One after another, major U.S. corporations have updated anti-discrimination policies to protect gay, lesbian and transgender workers, drawing plaudits from gay-rights groups. There's one prominent exception: Exxon Mobil Corp.

The complaint, filed with the state's Department of Human Rights, says Exxon was sent two nearly identical resumes for a job opening at its office in Patoka, Ill. The only substantive differences were that one of the fictional applicants was clearly depicted as a gay-rights activist, and had higher college and high-school grades than the other applicant.

According to the complaint, Exxon's human resources office at its home base in Texas confirmed receipt of both applications, then made several efforts to contact the applicant with the lower grades to set up an interview. The applicant who indicated she was gay received no such follow-ups.

Home Secretary Theresa May has chaired an hour-long meeting of the Government's emergency committee 'COBRA' in relation to what she called a "sickening and barbaric" incident.

Security has since been tightened at Woolwich barracks and increased at all London barracks, confirmed the Prime Minister's press office.

David Cameron described the events as "truly shocking" and is planning to return from a summit with French President Francois Hollande in Paris tonight.

Speaking in the French capital, Mr Cameron claimed there were strong indications the "sickening crime" was a terror attack.

He added: "We've had these sorts of attacks before in our country and we never buckle in the face of them.

"We show indomitable British spirit. The terrorists never win because they cannot defeat the values we hold dear."

Footage from ITV News showed a man with bloodied hands and carrying knives making political statements into a camera in Woolwich.

He said: "I apologise that women had to witness this today, but in our lands our women have to see the same.

"You people will never be safe, remove your governments they don't care about you."

He was then shown walking back to what is thought to be the victim of the attack, lying in the street.

ITV also reported that he added: "We swear by almighty Allah, that we will never stop fighting you. Until you leave us alone, your people will never be safe."

"The only reason we have done this is because Muslims are dying by British soldiers every day. This British soldier is an eye-for-eye, a tooth-for-a-tooth."

The Muslim Council of Britain condemned the "truly barbaric act that has no basis in Islam."

A statement added: "Our thoughts are with the victim and his family.

"We understand the victim is a serving member of the Armed Forces. Muslims have long served in this country's Armed Forces, proudly and with honour.

"This attack on a member of the Armed Forces is dishonourable, and no cause justifies this murder. This action will no doubt heighten tensions on the streets of the United Kingdom.

"We call on all our communities, Muslim and non-Muslim, to come together in solidarity to ensure the forces of hatred do not prevail."

Detective Chief Superintendent Simon Letchford, Newham's Borough Commander, said: "At approximately 2.20pm we were called to reports of an assault in John Wilson Street, Woolwich where one man was being assaulted by two other men.

"A number of weapons were reportedly being used in the attack, and this included reports of a firearm.

"Officers including local Greenwich officers arrived at the scene and shortly after firearms officers arrived on the scene.

"On their arrival at the scene they found a man, who was later pronounced dead. At this early stage I am unable to provide any further information about the man who has died.

"Two men, who we believe from early reports to have been carrying weapons, were shot by police. They were taken to separate London hospitals, they are receiving treatment for their injuries.

He added that "there will continue to be an increased police presence" in the area and surrounding areas for "as long as is needed."

One apparent witness, Twitter user @BoyaDee, claimed he saw a man "with his head chopped off".
He wrote: "Ohhhhh myyyy God!!!! I just see a man with his head chopped off right in front of my eyes!"

An eyewitness called James told LBC radio he saw two men "hacking at this poor guy" and that he "clearly saw a meat cleaver".

He said one of the men "went over to a bus to get people to take photos of him."

He added that one of the men later "charged at the police response vehicle" when it arrived, before claiming "shots were fired".

Further reports suggest a man wearing a Help for Heroes t-shirt was attacked with a machete-style knife and dumped in the street.

Local MP Nick Raynsford claimed one of the men who died is believed to have been a serving solider.

He said: "We think a serving soldier was the victim. We don't know the circumstances surrounding the incident.

"We do know a number of weapons have been seized. They include a gun, various knives, and a machete, apparently."
