Not since 1958 have we qualfied for a major Tournament. 1978, 1986, 1992, 1994 and 2003 Tournaments was the closest we came to qualifying, but it was always on the last and most important games. Southhall, Rush, Hughes, Saunders, Toshack, Speed and Giggs, top players have failed to make the final stages of an internatinal tournament for Wales as players. Now Toshack is desperate to bring in new players to take a stand and help the football do it for once. Bale, Ramsey, Collison, Church etc are a new brand, but do they have what it takes to go to Poland or Brazil in 2 and 4 years time. Craig Bellamy is now in his thirties and I would guess the Euro's would be his last chance for him. There's apparently new potentials from Cardiff and Man city, but how long will it take to hit the big time. We may be a small country, but Uruguay were too and came 4th in 2010 World Cup. Maybe Ryan Giggs and not John, should lead Wales to Welsh glory.
