What if Pamela never lost the baby, after she fell from that Hayloft in 1978? How would that effect the present-day balance of power for the Ewing Clan?
I think it would have been great if Pamela had had a girl. Imagine JR's turmoil while Pam is pregnant only to think it's over when a daughter is born. What if Bobby was a little disappointed - that's a storyline there. But I can imagine Lucy loving the idea of having another girl.

I could definately see that scenario. Maybe even being named Eleanor Jean after Miss Ellie and Pam. With little Eleanor being just like her momma and going at it with John Ross kind of like Pam and J.R. go at it. But, yes! I do like the idea of there being a girl born to Pam and Bobby instead of a boy. But, obviously, John Ross' parentage was more intriguing and how Sue Ellen yearned for a child and finally got one only to go through that love triangle with Cliff and J.R. That really makes more sense in the plot throughout the rest of the series. J.R. did most of his wheelin's and dealin's for his son, well at least that's what he claims.
Christopher probably would have come into the story line like he did. It's the twist of how that originally happened. I wonder how else he would have come into the family the way he did. Would Jeff Faraday come to Bobby with blackmail or would he have blackmailed J.R? instead. Hmmm, that's very interesting how that could have come to play....
But, I always felt sorry that Pam and Bobby never did actually have a child of their own. Too bad she never did come back for the reunion movies. Closure, closure, that's what I say!!! http://www.soapchat.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I assume Farraday would blackmail JR as it was supposedly his son. If Bobby and Pam had a child already, then Bobby wouldn't have felt inclined to keep him because Pam wouldn't have been crazy at the time.
Once JR found out Christopher wasn't his son he probably would have wanted to send him away but Sue Ellen would have had legal custody and kept him. Then Christopher would have turned out like Ray thinking he was a black sheep. Bobby and Pam wouldn't even be in the picture.
