Eternal Love

You've all heard the saying that a husband and wife will have 'Eternal love' or are 'eternal lovers'. So what I'm curious about is the Jock-Ellie-Clayton triangle.

Jock and Ellie and Clayton and Ellie had two different marriages but primarily the same love. So what I'm curious about is who then are the eternal lovers? Jock and Ellie or Clayton and Ellie??

I think Jock and Ellie. I think evidence of that is given when Wes Parmalee shows up. Ellie was almost ready to welcome Jock home.
