In memory of all the soldiers on this Remembrance Day and Veteran's Day.

IN FLANDERS FIELDS

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

John McCrae

Let's honor our soldiers in Iraq. Maybe one day they will come home and have the privlege of running for office against an AWOL deserter, and their medals and patriotism can be questioned too. Honor the soldiers until they return, then vilify them for personal gain. Isn't that the American way???

Funny how military service didn't matter in the 1992 and 1996 Presidential elections...

Actually, in 1992 weren't the Republicans touting Bush Sr. as a war hero and Clinton as a "draft dodger"? Then in 1996, wasn't it Bob Dole the war hero and Clinton the "draft dodger" again?

I don't think the Democrats publically complained about Bush's mysterious absence from the military until after the Republicans portrayed Kerry as a war veteran that betrayed his fellow soldiers.

What is unfortunate is how some of ya can claim to appreciate the service of veterans ...then ........a little later practically disparage their service in the same thread.

Leads me to believe that you are not sincere but just putting on a front.

Just my opinion.

Nobody has disparaged their service R.B. We disparage their Commander in Chief for example, because he overextends them in unnecessary situations. Just like I disparage my PM for not funding the military enough.
